I had tea at a famous shop known for its apple pie. The cozy atmosphere with the warmth of wood inside the cute shop was lovely. I ordered the specialty apple pie and coffee. It was filled with plenty of apples, and the balance between the perfect apple texture, aroma, and the crispy pie was excellent. It had a satisfying taste and was very delicious. Although it is also sold in supermarkets these days, it tastes even better when eaten in a cafe.

There is a famous apple pie shop called "Apple and Grape Tree" here. I had heard of this place before, and apparently they only sell their pies at this service area. I stopped by "Apple and Grape Tree," famous for its apple pie. It was probably my second time, but it must have been about 10 years ago! This popular bakery and sweets shop in Asakura also offers apple picking in season. On the premises, there is a miscellaneous goods shop and a pasta restaurant called "Ringo-an." I enjoyed a bath and meal at "Hanouka," and purchased Shiba persimmons at "Michi no Eki Haratsuru." Afterwards, I stopped by "Apple and Grape Tree" for tea after the meal. If you turn right on the national highway, you will encounter a series of narrow roads, probably near Yamada PA on the Oita Expressway. To enter the shop, you pass under the apple tree and open the wooden old-fashioned door. The atmosphere inside the shop is like a hidden retreat with a quaint appearance. The interior was quite dark! It could be a bit brighter! When asked by the guide if I was there for shopping or for the café, I mentioned that I wanted to have tea and was shown to a seat. Looking up at the ceiling, I saw a pheasant perched on the beam for some reason (laughs). The "Cake Set" (780 yen) included apple pie and fruit tart, served with coffee! The ceramic plates that the cakes were served on even had apple-shaped designs. The apple pie had a crispy crust and a nice balance of sweet and sour apple flavor. The fruit tart had a gentle deliciousness with flavors of apple and figs.

I found the famous apple pie, and there were two boxes of 2 pieces each left (700 yen per box), so I bought one box. I also purchased a loaf of apple cream cheese bread. It is quite heavy. They also sell whole pies (15 cm in diameter, 3,000 yen). Despite the tour still ahead, I already have extra baggage /(￣-￣)\. Carefully, I brought them back home, and when I opened the box, the golden part of the apple was dazzling. The large cuts of apple compote retain their shape, giving a slight crunch... It is dynamic, with a subtle sweetness and a refreshing elegance. Truly an exquisite apple pie. The bread also had chunks of apple and cheese, making it a luxurious treat. Since it's easy to stop by at the SA, I would love to try it again~.

I am a regular customer here. I always crave the apple curry from this place. I even drive three hours by car just to come here. The apple pie is also delicious. The staff, although always different, are mostly young but provide excellent service and are very polite. Their uniforms are cute too. The apple curry has apple slices cut into eighths and they are served in that size. I don't like spicy food, but sometimes it's a bit spicy or sweet? Even when it's sweet, it's not as mild as kids' curry. It's very easy to eat and I love it. Ahh, now I'm craving it again. It's addictive curry.

The Oita Expressway, Yamada SA (downhill), was renewed as an eco-area in November 2012. The mega-solar panels on the slope are impressive. Since the renovation is still new, the interior of the store is also clean! There is a corner of "Apple and Grape Trees" in the bakery. The bakery was closed as it was late, but I was able to purchase at another store's register. I wasn't sure if the bakery was separate from the Apple and Grape Trees or if it was the same place. Anyway, I'll post it here for now... The apple pie that has been sold since before the renovation is still available. The main store is near the SA. I haven't been there, but I often receive this apple pie as a souvenir. The apple slices are cut large. They are sweetened but not too sweet, which I like. This shop in Asakura. This time, they had a temporary store at Amu Plaza Kokura, so I bought apple pie, etc. The apple pie had good quality apples, was soft, sweet, had plenty of apples, and was delicious. I think this is the best. The apple tart and pudding, I think, didn't suit my taste compared to the apple pie. Bread and other items seem to be popular as well.

I finally got to try a sweet treat I've always wanted, Apple Pie (2 for 700 yen). The large chunks of stewed apples are plentiful and delicious on their own, but warming them up lightly in the oven or toaster enhances the aroma and taste. Personally, I highly recommend it. I'm a repeat customer who has been coming here for many years now (laughs). This time, I got the apple pie and various breads to go. Of course, there is also a café, so you can enjoy eating at this cozy restaurant as well. If you love apple pie, I highly recommend it. By the way, this farm also offers activities like strawberry picking, grape picking, and apple picking. In the past, this farm with a beautiful restaurant was not like this at all (laughs). I think I've been coming here for almost 30 years now (laughs). It keeps getting more beautiful and famous as the years go by (laughs).
