This time, I visited the restaurant for lunch with my friend Kanai. I ordered the "Seafood Ikura Don for ¥850" and Kanai ordered the "Seafood Don for ¥650". The "Seafood Ikura Don" had diced sashimi, while the "Seafood Don" had sliced sashimi. We started by dipping the sashimi in soy sauce on a small plate, and then poured sesame dressing over the rice bowl. The set came with a fish head soup made with sea bream. The quality and quantity for the price were exceptional. We arrived before 1 pm, but the "Makanai Don" was already sold out, along with our orders of "Seafood Ikura Don" and "Seafood Don". Today, I had lunch at the Fish Tatsunoshokudo in the fresh fish market. I had the Aji Fry set meal with a picture on the menu. I purchased a meal ticket on the right side of the entrance, not realizing the prices. The Aji Fry set meal costs 750 yen, so I bought a 700 yen and a 50 yen meal ticket. The seafood bowl was sold out around 1:00 PM. It was delicious.

A late lunch at Uotatsu Shokudo. I wanted grilled fish more than sashimi, so I went for the reliable salted mackerel set. The mackerel was plump and generously sized, and at 750 yen, it's quite a reasonable price. The restaurant inside the building is a bit pricey, but if you're looking for good value, you won't be disappointed! It seems like there are more tourists around now.

I was so impressed by how fresh and affordable the sashimi set meal was! The location certainly plays a part, making the food delicious as expected. The miso soup was also luxurious with plenty of ingredients. Ordering was done through a machine, and you just need to hand the ticket to the staff. The tea is self-serve, with a pot placed on the table. If it runs out, the staff kindly replaces it with a smile. The warm hojicha tea comes in a large cup, allowing you to enjoy plenty of it. You can also order extra sashimi, which I might try next time on an empty stomach! It's around 150 yen for the extra portion. It's a quick meal spot with a vibe for working people. I was highly satisfied. I would love to try their breakfast set meal someday!

Before, there was a staff cafeteria at the back of the market, but it was relocated to the entrance and reopened after renovations. It was my first visit after the renewal. On Saturdays, it's crowded with tourists and locals find it hard to get in. I had to try the signature dish of the restaurant, the "Makanai Don" in a large portion (800 yen). It came with a small side dish and miso soup. The warm white rice was topped with various types of sashimi. The dish is best enjoyed with the seafood bowl sauce that is available on the table. It was consistently delicious, but I felt like the portion was bigger before the renovation. Maybe they are catering more to tourists now.

I decided to wander around the Nagahama area on my bicycle and felt like having some "fish" for a change, so I headed towards the Nagahama Fish Market. To my surprise, I found three restaurants next to the main entrance of the fish market, where I usually go to the hall inside. One of the restaurants had recently moved to this location, so the place still felt new. After comparing the menus displayed outside, all three restaurants mainly offered fish dishes, but I chose to dine at "Uotatsu Shokudo" as it seemed to be popular among customers. The restaurant had a ticket machine on the right side as you enter, and I purchased a ticket for the "Amadai Fry Set" priced at 700 yen. Unfortunately, the seafood bowl was already sold out, so I went for the Amadai fry instead. Within 10 minutes, the Amadai Fry Set arrived at my table, consisting of two pieces of crispy Amadai, a generous portion of rice, miso soup, and a side dish. The freshly fried Amadai was delicious and tender, and even though the tartar sauce was store-bought, the quality of the fish made up for it. At 700 yen, it was definitely worth it. If you prefer a smaller portion of rice, it's advisable to mention it when ordering. The staff may seem a bit indifferent as it is a market eatery, but the affordable prices and fresh ingredients make it a satisfying dining experience. Thank you for the meal.

Fukuoka City, Chuo Ward, inside Nagahama Sengyo Ichiba, there is a restaurant called "Uotatsu Shokudo". It seems like a restaurant that is easy for ordinary people to enter. I purchased a breakfast set meal ticket from the ticket machine. It came with rice, miso soup, natto, fried egg, grilled fish, and a small side dish for only 500 yen, which was quite surprising. The set meal I received was pretty much what I expected. The grilled fish was small, but I was happy that it was mackerel. I was a bit worried because the sign for the salted mackerel set meal (750 yen) mentioned "Norwegian", but it turned out to be fine as it was a part closer to the tail. There was sweet soy sauce for sashimi on the table, but for some reason, the soy sauce on the tray was also the same sweet Kyushu soy sauce. It didn't exceed my expectations, but for the price of a coin, it was good enough. Next time, I might try the neighboring "Ikkyu Shokudo".

Two people visited the restaurant around 1:00 pm on a regular day. They initially planned to go to Okinoyi at Fukuoka City Fish Market, but both parking lots were full with a waiting line. They decided to give up on the fish market and parked at the nearby Sunny Fukuoka Nagahama store's parking lot, then walked to the restaurant. Along the way, they remembered about Ikkyu Shokudo and Uotatsu Shokudo, and suddenly changed their destination. Despite hesitating between Ikkyu Shokudo and Uotatsu Shokudo, they recalled a YouTuber enjoying the sweetfish fry set at Uotatsu Shokudo, so they went there. When they arrived, the restaurant was about 50% full, but by the time they left (around 1:30 pm), it was full. Most customers seemed to be market-related or nearby businessmen. They couldn't find the sweetfish fry set on the vending machine, and when they mentioned it to the staff, they were instructed to press the 700 yen button. The companion was undecided between the staff meal and the seafood bowl, but when they asked if there were any photos, they were told there weren't any. They ended up ordering the seafood bowl. It was served in 7-8 minutes. The seafood bowl had regular warm white rice with sashimi on top. The amount of sashimi was equivalent to the 650 yen price, but the taste was delicious. The sweetfish fry in the sweetfish fry set was really sweet and fluffy, just as expected. The only downside was the lack of free parking nearby. Overall, it was a good dining experience. Another option near the market hall has been added. Looking forward to visiting again in the future.

In the morning, I attended a training seminar at Airef Hall, and since the training ended before noon, I decided to head to this place for lunch. Located next to the entrance of Hakata Fish Market, previously it was in the west side dining area of Nagahama Market called "Hakata Uogashi West Side Dining Street Shop". Due to the demolition of the west side dining area, it has now relocated and opened in front of the market entrance on the left side. I arrived at around 11:40 am and the restaurant was almost full. As I entered, I was greeted by a food ticket machine. Not feeling like having a bowl dish today, I purchased a ticket for the salted mackerel set meal. I handed the ticket to the staff and headed to the counter. One amazing thing about this place is that the staff member who takes your ticket doesn't remember who ordered what. When the food is ready, they shout out the dish name and customers raise their hands. In about 10 minutes, my salted mackerel set meal was called out, so I raised my hand and the tray was brought to me. The tray contained rice, salted mackerel, simmered hijiki seaweed, and miso soup. I started with the miso soup, which only had wheat gluten as an ingredient, very simple. The salted mackerel was deboned and very easy to eat, with a tender and well-cooked texture. It was much tastier than cooking it at home. Not having to worry about bones while eating was also a plus. There was a note saying that rice refills were free for the grand opening, but one serving was enough for me. This place also offered tempting seafood bowls and staff meals in bowls, so I thought I might try those next time. However, I was intrigued by the mackerel fry set meal that was not listed on the ticket machine and that the staff member was shouting about, so I might ask about it next time I visit. Still a new restaurant #Uotatsu Shokudo {Nagahama, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City} October 24, 2022 (Monday) I went to Uotatsu Shokudo. I was wandering around Nagahama when I was surprised in front of the main entrance of the fish market. Next to the main entrance of the fish market, there were three new shops lined up. I heard that the Nishigawa Shokudo was demolished and moved here. This made it easier to notice and visit. Among the three shops, I chose this one. When I asked the staff, they said it opened on October 1st. Looking at the ticket machine, all the prices were quite reasonable. Only the fried horse mackerel set suddenly became 1000 yen! I chose the staff meal bowl for 750 yen. As part of the grand opening, I could have had extra rice for free, but I asked for a normal portion. Here comes the staff meal bowl for 750 yen (tax included). It comes with miso soup and a small side dish. The sashimi is piled high, and you can't see the rice underneath. Getting this much sashimi for 750 yen is a great deal. I'll pour the sauce for the seafood bowl on the table. The sashimi is fresh, fatty, and delicious. The "Hakata Uogashi West Side Food Court Store" has relocated to the left side of the market's main entrance due to the demolition of the west side food court inside the Nagahama Market. Although the new location is not very spacious, it is now more visible from the main entrance, making it easier for the general public to enter. The storefront is still adorned with congratulatory flowers, and the interior of the store is quite plain at the moment. However, they are likely to decorate it further in the future. The menu is currently limited compared to usual. I ordered the recommended dish of the day, the "Ajisashimi Miso Tataki Set" for 600 yen. As always, the prices are very affordable. The tataki of the horse mackerel is tender, fresh, and pairs perfectly with the rice. Due to the upcoming demolition of the west side food court (around November), other shops like "Michi Shokudo" and "Ikkyu Shokudo" will also be relocating. I will visit these establishments again in their new locations.

Great cost performance! Cheap! Fresh! The staff at the shop are friendly, making it easy to enjoy fresh fish in Nagahama. This is the place to go!

There were flowers in front of the shop, so it seemed like it had just opened. I went inside. I'm not a fan of the ticket system, but the man was kind and helped me. I ordered a seafood ikura bowl, which was quite substantial.
