The weather is nice, and the cherry blossoms in Osaka city are in full bloom. I visited the Yodoyabashi area and had lunch at the "Ue no Houdou Yodoyabashi-ten" restaurant on the 2nd floor of Odona. The lunch menu had a slight change, with the hamburger no longer available. They had a variety of teppanyaki options for lunch, and I ordered the sirloin steak cooked medium rare. It was served with rice and miso soup, and the meat was tender with a slightly sweet sauce. Despite it being before noon, the restaurant quickly filled up with office workers. Lunch situation was not great in Yodoyabashi, and the weather was bad, so I only had 30 minutes to quickly find a place where I wouldn't get wet. I had a steak set meal for 1300 yen. The meat seemed to be tongue. It had a good chewy texture, but was soft enough to easily bite through. It was neither great nor terrible. Next time, I will try the okonomiyaki, which should give me a better idea of the restaurant's skill.

The lunch set includes free rice refill, miso soup, salad, and pickles for 1300 yen. I sat at the counter and watched as the okonomiyaki and steak were being cooked right in front of me. The chef's skills on the teppan are always fascinating to watch. When the meat was cooked to perfection, the rice set arrived. The set's dish was a bit plain and didn't seem very clean as it was machine-washed. Then, the steak arrived! It was more generous in portion than I expected. The cooking was just right, and the garlic sauce added a nice flavor that went well with the rice. Today's visit was to Kamikata Godo Yodoyabashi store. Kamikata Godo Yodoyabashi is a teppanyaki restaurant located in Yodoyabashi, Osaka, Osaka Prefecture. The store is located on the 2nd floor of the Yodoyabashi Odona Building, and during lunchtime, it is bustling with office workers. Since I was in Osaka, I wanted to try okonomiyaki in Yodoyabashi, so I decided to visit this restaurant. I arrived right after the store opened, so I was able to enter smoothly even on a weekday at 11:30, and ordered okonomiyaki. The okonomiyaki had a nice texture with the ingredients well preserved, allowing me to taste the deliciousness of the local flavors. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered a steak course a bit luxuriously on this day! The speed of service was adjusted properly, which was nice. The customer service and service were perfect, so I will use it again. I found a nice-looking restaurant on Tabelog and decided to go. The restaurant was smaller than I had imagined based on the photos. They prepare all the dishes before bringing them to you. I arrived early, but as it got closer to mealtime, people who had finished work started coming in. If you prefer a quiet dining experience, I recommend going early when it's less crowded. The prawns were plump and delicious. The onions, which I had high expectations for based on reviews, were not as sweet as I had hoped. The oysters were generous in portion size and had a rich flavor that went well with alcohol. The tonpei-yaki was average. The okonomiyaki was fluffy and tasty. We also ordered mixed yakisoba, and the noodles were delicious! There was plenty of seafood in it as well.

On Tuesday at 1:00 PM, I went to "Teppan-ya Kamigata Midou" in Yodoyabashi. I ordered the specialty dish "Modern Yaki" from the lunch menu for 1,000 yen. It arrived 15 minutes later. The management of the company Idear, which is working hard to run a delicious yakitori restaurant called Ren and Tori Kagura, is more focused on teppanyaki overall. They also have a great selection of okonomiyaki, but it's fun to limit your order to just flour-based dishes. This time, since we gathered a group of flour-based dish lovers, we mostly stuck to ordering flour-based dishes. Currently, the members are visiting various well-known okonomiyaki restaurants, and so far, Tonpei and Modern-yaki are considered the most delicious. Tonpei is fluffy and the okonomiyaki may be a bit too generous in portion, but the taste and preparation are delicate. It's like you can feel a step above in terms of cooking. Please try it out once to confirm the authenticity.

Odonas, a teppanyaki restaurant on the second floor of a commercial building. They have okonomiyaki on the menu, so I often bring colleagues from Tokyo here. Business trips. I haven't been on one in a while. My miles aren't accumulating either (ToT). Anyway, today I had the tonkatsu lunch for 1,100 yen. The tonkatsu here is rich and has a sweet soy sauce taste. The rice goes down well. And you can get a free refill of rice. The portion size is decent, with a solid tonkatsu. But the price is a bit high. I think it's because the rent in this building is expensive. It felt like they were charging an extra couple of 100 yen coins. The real highlight here is the all-you-can-drink course at night. That's where you really get your money's worth.

I went to Odona in Yodoyabashi for a slightly late lunch, so the restaurant was about half full. Each table had a teppan (iron griddle) where they placed the steak plates so they wouldn't get cold. It would have been nice to try the okonomiyaki on the teppan as well. (*ノ՞ټ՞ノ)

It has been 12 and a half years since my last visit. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of ODONA. I visited during lunchtime and had the modern yaki as a single item, which cost 1000 yen. If you choose the set meal with rice and miso soup, it's an additional 100 yen. I'm not sure if it's because it's the modern yaki during lunchtime or if it's just how they make it at this restaurant, but the modern yaki here was simply yakisoba on top of a completed okonomiyaki. It felt like there was a lack of unity. However, once you start eating, it's essentially the same. Also, the okonomiyaki part felt a bit heavy on the flour side.

Today we went a la carte! I used to always think that this kind of restaurant only offered set courses, but sometimes you just want to order 2 okonomiyaki or 2 types of yakisoba. In those cases, a la carte is the way to go. It's limited to members who don't drink much, but the taste of the yakisoba and modern-yaki was good. The chicken was also good, but the roast beef was nothing special. The beer for the all-you-can-drink option was Asahi Super Dry. This time, I had two large glasses of aromatic ale. It ended up being about 5,000 yen per person, which is similar to the price of a set course. When the Bacchus members aren't around, a la carte is also a good option!

After shopping for bargains, I had a solo lunch! I couldn't decide between okonomiyaki and sobameshi, but I ended up ordering sobameshi! Before that, I toasted with a draft beer and some roast beef as an appetizer! (In my mind) The roast beef was tender and the sauce had just the right amount of sweetness, making it a great value!
