I tried Soup Stock for the first time. I see, the soups change every week depending on the store. They have curry and soup sets, Tokyo chicken curry, vichyssoise, and black sugar ginger ale. It would be nice if they had a smaller size too. The taste was delicious! ♡♡

Bindaloo curry and lobster bisque set for 1100 yen. I finally got to visit a restaurant I've always wanted to go to. It was my first time at Soup Stock. I was really craving curry. There are so many dining options at Parco, I always have a hard time deciding where to eat. I received my order and ate at a table. It was pretty much as I had imagined. It was just okay. The taste was about what I expected, so I probably won't visit again at this price. I might come back when they have borscht available.

Three of us, two men and one woman, went to this restaurant in the underground second floor of Fukuoka Parco Shin-Kan in Tenjin, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City to have curry. The restaurant is quite spacious for an underground location, and they have thorough COVID-19 prevention measures in place. We decided on our menu, paid in advance, and served ourselves. I forgot to take a picture of the curry, but it was a very mild and delicious soup curry. They offer a wide variety of curry options. Even though the majority of customers were women during our visit, the atmosphere is welcoming for men as well.

I was planning to go to a Nepalese restaurant with my companion, but another person who joined us mentioned that they wanted to eat a soup that is gentle on the stomach. I suggested trying South Indian meals as they are soup-like, but I was worried that the spiciness and acidity of rasam might not agree with their stomach. So, we ended up going to a soup restaurant instead. Since I couldn't think of any other soup places, we ended up here. The person confidently ordered, and I was surprised to find out that he is a regular here, even near his home in Tokyo. We ended up ordering the following dishes:
- Baingan Bartha (Curry) - 730 yen
- "The Milkmaid" Soup (S) - 470 yen
The atmosphere was casual and bright, with acrylic dividers creating individual spaces for each diner. The Baingan Bartha curry was filled with eggplants and had a mild spiciness, making it quite delicious. The person with us ordered a Vegetable and Coconut Asian Curry, which they also enjoyed. The Milkmaid soup was unique, with a rich milk base and raisin bread inside, giving it a Middle Eastern flair. The person who wanted soup ordered a set with two soups and rice, finding comfort in familiar flavors. Overall, the dishes were comforting and perfect for someone looking for a mild and soothing meal. The restaurant also offers a variety of curry options that change periodically, making it a place worth revisiting for different flavors. The Omurice Soup was also delicious, showcasing rich flavors and explaining its popularity.
In conclusion, the dishes at this restaurant were gentle on the stomach and provided a stable and comforting taste experience. The use of simple ingredients like milk, cream, bread, and vegetables in the dishes reflected the simplicity and beauty of everyday life, inspired by Vermeer's painting "The Milkmaid." The decision to name the soup after this painting was to capture the essence of the artwork and create a memorable dining experience. The restaurant's dedication to creating unique and memorable dishes was evident in the flavors and presentation of the dishes we tried.

I wanted to eat something light, so I decided to dine in. I ordered a small size minestrone soup and oolong tea for 759 yen. I didn't even want bread because I wanted to eat lightly. The soup was not loaded with ingredients, but it was quite substantial. It was sour, but had a rich flavor that made me wonder, "Is there meat in this!?" It was written on the menu that it was vegetarian, so there was no meat. This kind of richness is something I can't recreate with just vegetables at home... I thought as I savored the taste. It was delicious. The oolong tea was also refreshing with a nice bitterness.

I spent the morning attending training and had a late lunch at Soup Stock Tokyo. I had lobster bisque, green vegetable minestrone, and white sesame rice. I also had a cafe au lait, making it a full course meal! The delicious flavors were a welcome treat for my tired body. The vegetable minestrone was packed with lots of vegetables, which I really appreciated. It cost 1,221 yen, but it's understandable since it's a full course meal.

I visited Fukuoka city for a training session and decided to try a soup restaurant that is probably not common in Saga. I ordered a dish with something like lobster and had it with rice. The flavor was subtle with a hint of lobster taste. What surprised me the most was the temperature of the soup - not too hot, not lukewarm, just the perfect temperature for a soup. My colleague's borscht had hot pieces of meat in it. It was a great experience to enjoy something different from what I usually eat.

I visited here at the end of February. Fukuoka Parco has been temporarily closed since April 8th, but will reopen on May 20th. The "Soup" specialty shop in the basement of the new building at Fukuoka Parco offers a delicious Lobster Bisque. I chose the Regular Cup Set (740 yen excluding tax) with Lobster Bisque and bread. The Lobster Bisque had a rich flavor of lobster and was delicious as always. The portion was satisfying, and with the bread, it filled me up. The bread was average, not comparable to high-end restaurants, but for the price, it was sufficient as a side to the Lobster Bisque. I would like to visit again if I crave it in the future.

After the price/menu revision, it feels a bit expensive, but I still love this restaurant because of its great location and the variety of soups and curries available.

On a cold day, I was craving something warm, so I decided to visit Soup Stock in Fukuoka Parco underground. It was around 11:40 AM and the place was already about 40% full. They had counter seats, a large communal table for 6, and smaller tables for 2 along the walls. I planned to order a soup set, but then I saw the "Omar shrimp and scallop fricassée (1,340 yen, tax included)" on the menu. It was a bit pricey for a regular lunch, but I decided to go for it since it was a limited-time offer and seemed unique. I ordered the large size of rice with the dish. The sauce on top of the rice looked like a mix between stew and curry. The serving time was quick, about 1 minute. I sat at a vacant 2-person table and tried the dish. It had a sprinkle of powdered cheese on top, with a bit of greens on the side. It wasn't too spicy, and the flavor of the Omar shrimp and scallop was distinct. The rice, which I chose to be white rice with sesame seeds, seemed to be vinegar rice. The large portion of rice was filling, but I wished there was more sauce. After finishing, I returned the dishes to the counter. Overall, it was a delicious meal, although a slightly more budget-friendly lunch option would be appreciated.

You can choose the size of the cup. I had the seasonal soup. It was served in a stylish tray cup.

I decided to leave a little early for work in the afternoon and have lunch in Tenjin. I wanted to find a place where I could eat vegetables. After some research, I found two options and decided to go to Soup Stock Tokyo in Fukuoka Parco. They had a variety of soups and stews with vegetables, which I was looking forward to. However, when I arrived, they only had two types of curry, six types of soup, and one dessert. The only option that suited my purpose was the soup with Kumeshima mozuku and okra. Later, I found out that the soup menu changes weekly. I should have done more research before going. I ordered the regular cup set and the set menu came with stone oven bread. The portion of the regular cup set was not too big. The taste was... average. However, the stone oven bread was delicious! The restaurant was not crowded, but there were many solo female diners. They were eating curry and drinks heartily. My meal seemed more like a female portion (biased). Even the butter curry was only 646kcal, so they could eat without worrying about calories. My set, on the other hand, only had 263kcal with stone oven bread at 142kcal and one soup at 121kcal. It unintentionally became a low-calorie lunch. The blog linked below has photos as well. Please check it out.
