Meat! It's our first time dining out together after the self-restraint period. Probably, this will be the only time this month. Darin is quite sensitive to diseases and such, so honestly, she was a bit hesitant about this day (laughs). The restaurant was spacious, with a dining area and a barbecue area separated at the entrance. It was a weekend lunchtime, so the barbecue area was lively with voices. Since it was still early, the dining area was quiet, so we didn't have to worry about social distancing. The interior decorations were unique, with a lot of information coming from the items. I wonder if the owner collects them? Are they the type that attracts people? Just looking around until the food arrived made time fly by. And speaking of the food, it came out faster than I expected... For our order, we chose the Genghis Khan set meal. I had been craving barbecue in a place other than home, so based on Darin's recommendation of "Genghis Khan set meal or steak set meal, both are good," I chose the former. The dish arrived on a larger-than-expected iron plate, with seasoned Genghis Khan (you can also choose raw lamb) on top of bean sprouts. Sometimes the bean sprouts come while still not fully cooked, but as you eat, they get cooked later on. It's interesting, isn't it? When the restaurant is busy, they have to do things like that. "Today, it's cooked just right," he laughed. One notable thing is that even though it's seasoned, the sauce comes separately. As you eat, you realize that the sauce is necessary. There is a sauce for seasoning and maintaining freshness, and another sauce for enhancing the flavor. It's a two-pronged approach. Also, about the rice... Our rice at home is tastier... Hmm. It's just the right amount of rice to enjoy with the Genghis Khan, but hmm. Our rice at home is tastier. What a waste. The miso soup had shredded kelp in it. I want to try the raw lamb version and the other recommended dish, the steak set meal. I'm looking forward to the next visit.
