I have only written two reviews so far, but I was able to safely return to Osaka from my trip to the Hokuriku region with Arashi, and the next day, as planned, I met up with two friends in Shinsaibashi. The two of them participated in a Tabelog year-end party nearby last night and stayed at a hotel in Shinsaibashi together, but since it was a room-only plan, we had decided to have breakfast together 10 days ago. It was a sunny but very cold morning, and at 9:30 am, we met at the storefront of "Asian Tea Issa," located in a small alley just off Midosuji near Daimaru Shinsaibashi store. We gathered on time and ordered at the counter register on the first floor. I ordered the following:
- Congee with green onions and ginger (500 yen)
Topping: Kishu plum (100 yen)
- Black sugar ginger milk tea (600 yen)
They also offer sandwiches, but the three of us chose the "morning porridge" and I added Kishu plum topping to mine. In fact, the breakfast at the hotel in Kanazawa yesterday was also "Taiwanese porridge," so I added pickled plum to give it a Japanese twist. I carried the tray with a teapot and a mug cup to the second floor, poured the "black sugar ginger milk tea" myself, and enjoyed it (^o^)/ For a while, we had the place to ourselves, chatting about last night's year-end party and sharing stories from my trip to the Hokuriku region. After waiting for about 15 minutes, the congee with green onions and ginger arrived. There were two small pickled plums, so I took a photo for Tabelog before sharing one with my foodie friend from Kyoto. The hot congee, enhanced with the kick of ginger and the refreshing acidity of the plum, was enjoyed with a spoon. Having a healthy breakfast for two consecutive days helped cleanse my body. It was my first reunion with Myレビ, a foodie from Wakayama, in a year and a half, and I heard that they had fallen ill a few days ago but were now able to eat normally. Luckily, they were feeling better! Now, it's time for lunch. I had asked my foodie friend from Kyoto to get me a "rice pot" for 3 servings from the 8th generation Fukumori Michiayumi at Iga's "Doraku Kiln." Despite its weight, they brought it to me at that time, and I received it after going to the hotel where they were staying. Then, the three of us took the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line to Namba, where we got off at the next station. Enjoy your meal! (●^o^●)
