Until every Wednesday, I made an effort to visit this place. Despite some hesitation with other nearby stores, I couldn't bring myself to try elsewhere. Today, the restaurant was bustling with activity. The counter was full, and the back tatami area was filled with lively voices. As a solo diner, I was seated at a table by the window. Following my previous analysis, I took the approach of using the back entrance through a side street off the main shopping street. Although the steep stairs seemed less steep this time, maybe it was just my imagination. Laughing.

Last time, I had fried chicken in a tatami room, and this time I had sweet and sour pork. I accidentally touched a catch in front of a store in the shopping street, so on the way back, I took a back alley instead of going through the shopping street. It was my first time seeing this path when I visited the area, so I walked cautiously. As I chose that route for my return, I was surprised by the calm and nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere, with takoyaki and creative kushikatsu shops catching my interest. I got off at Hyotan-yama station, and I mostly explore only that area. I might explore more next time, while thinking about it, I climbed up the escalator at the station.

On September 1st, I took a day off for errands and decided to have lunch at "Min Min Hyoudansan" in front of Gakuen-mae Station. It was my first visit to this restaurant. I arrived around 11:45 and saw some people already having lunch inside, so I had high hopes for this place. I ordered the following items:
- Large beer x 2 (650 yen each)
- Grilled dumplings x 2 (290 yen each)
- Pork loin fried chicken (700 yen)
- Crab omelette (580 yen) - ordered later
Here is a brief review of the food:
- The large Sapporo Black Label beer was great and refreshing.
- The pork loin fried chicken was crispy and delicious, served with salt and pepper. It was a good value for the price.
- The grilled dumplings were soft and tasty, especially when dipped in the self-mixed vinegar soy sauce and chili oil.
- The crab omelette was also flavorful and had a generous portion.
I was very satisfied with the food, but I noticed that other customers were ordering the lunch sets, such as sweet and sour pork set and fried chicken set, which seemed to be a great deal with a large portion of food. The lunch sets also came with a side of fried noodles, making it a very affordable option.
Overall, I enjoyed my meal and plan to try the lunch set next time, which includes a large beer, grilled dumplings, a main dish, and a side of fried noodles for a total of 1,870 yen. I am looking forward to it!

Despite the bustling atmosphere, the restaurant remains the same every time I visit. I looked outside and felt the end of summer in the evening breeze blowing through the noren curtain. After enjoying the view, I was warmly bid farewell by the staff and safely made my way down the steep stairs.

The taste was exquisite with a perfect balance of flavors. I couldn't get enough of the savory sauce and the tender onions. The rice was gone in no time, leaving me wanting a set meal. But before that, I need to try other dishes. This experience was different from the usual Sleepy Sleepy's explosive flavor, and I was overwhelmed by the unique charm. I heard that on weekdays, the lunch comes with yakisoba... but today is Sunday, so I ordered it separately. The service was warm and friendly, which made me happy. Min Min is a popular Chinese chain restaurant known for its dumplings. Established in 1953 in Sennichimae, Osaka, it quickly gained popularity as one of the first restaurants in Japan to offer dumplings. Expanding its network primarily in Kansai with some presence in Kanto, the Hyoutanoyama branch is a transferred branch located on the way to Hyoutanoyama Inari Shrine. I have visited several branches of Min Min before, but this was my first time at this branch. Although I only tried two dishes, they were reasonably priced and quite delicious, leaving a better impression compared to other branches. It felt more like a delicious local Chinese restaurant than a chain, which was very pleasing. I had a good impression, so I would like to try noodles and other dishes next time.

When I was young, I used to eat the Genghis Khan set meal here, along with ramen and gyoza, totaling 4000 calories. The gyoza has thin and chewy skin. There are also sunken kotatsu seats, and in winter they serve hot pot dishes. It's a cheap and filling restaurant. Surprisingly, they also have a good selection of Chinese liquor.
