To protect hospitals and facilities, eating out was prohibited, making it a difficult time. One of the few hopes for living was takeout from restaurants. With restrictions lifted, I went to Hosokawa in Yakuin after a long time. There, I had a cake. One was the All Filled Jewel from Sakurazaka, and the other was the Lemon Cheesecake from Beppu. Among the two cakes I had, I preferred this one. It had a pleasant acidity and exquisite texture. It seems to be located near Nakamura Gakuen, and if I had known before moving to Kitakyushu... it was a very delicious cake.

Even though I was already full from Christmas feasting, I decided to try the cheesecake. It may not be a very Christmassy choice, but the cheesecake had a crispy crust and a soft, creamy interior. Near Nakamura Gakuen University in Jonan Ward, there is a shop called "Cheesecake Lemon" with only a few tables inside. I love their cheesecakes, and this time I went for the seasonal peach cheesecake priced at 1200 yen. It looks cute with mascarpone ice cream on top and peach ice cream. The peach ice cream melts quickly, so I hurried to take a photo. Both the cheesecake and ice cream were delicious. There were only a few pieces of peach, but the taste was satisfying. The Basque cheesecake here is the best in Basque history, even though the history of Basque cheesecakes is relatively short. I usually don't like it when the cheesecake is too gooey, but the perfect gooey texture, along with the right amount of burnt edges and a hint of pumpkin flavor, made it absolutely amazing. It seems to be popular for takeout, as there were many people getting it to go. It would be fantastic if this cheesecake was served as a gift when visiting someone. I chose to have it with a coffee set for dining in, and you can tell just by looking at it how delicious it is. The cakes displayed on wooden boards in the showcase created a stylish and clean atmosphere with the concrete surroundings. It didn't feel intimidating to walk in, which was nice. I would like to try other cakes besides Basque cheesecake before the end of the year. It seems that only PayPay is accepted for electronic payments.

The shop has a simple feel with two tables for eating in. When I visited, there were six types of cheesecakes on display. From lemon to Basque to matcha, they all looked delicious. Lemon Cheesecake, priced at 420 yen, caught my eye as the shop's name is Lemon. It has a refreshing lemon flavor with a creamy texture, very delicious. Caramel Strawberry Cheesecake, priced at 530 yen, was the daily special, so I had to try it. It is also creamy and not too sweet, with a nice caramel taste. Both felt more like mousse than cake. Preferences may vary, but personally, I prefer a slightly firmer texture. I am very curious about the Guri and Gura on the eat-in menu. There is also seating available for dining in. It seems that dining in is usually done with a drink. I chose to take out four different cakes from the display case. The Old Fashioned costs 500 yen and has a refreshing lemon scent with a mild sweetness. The Terry Chocolate costs 430 yen and is a rich and smooth chocolate cheesecake terrine. The Yame Matcha and White Chocolate costs 430 yen and uses rich Yame matcha with added mildness from the white chocolate. The Basque costs 520 yen and is a rich baked cheesecake with a burnt outer layer. The store is located a little way down the street from Nakamura Gakuen University.

I am weak against limited edition items, but the strawberry and white chocolate lemon flavor was delicious. The white chocolate on top was strong, overpowering the cheesecake flavor a bit. Both the cheesecake and chocolate terrine were delicious as always.
