And today, on the third day, I passed through Hagi and Shimonoseki from Izumo, went through the Kanmon Tunnel, and arrived in Shingu Town via Route 3. I had visited this town before on a pilgrimage as it is the hometown of the singer YUI. It seems like the management of this facility has changed since my last visit. After paying the bathing fee, I first went to the bath. The sauna and carbonated spring were both very relaxing. I could even watch high school baseball from the outdoor bath. After about an hour of bathing, I felt hungry and headed to the dining area for lunch. There were various menu options, but despite not being very hungry, I was drawn to the fried chicken set meal, especially with the free extra-large rice offer. So, in the end, I decided to go all out and ordered the fried chicken set meal for 800 yen with free extra-large rice! Despite initially planning to have a light meal, I ended up enjoying a more satisfying meal than usual. After another bath and enjoying the sauna, I spent more time than planned at the facility before heading to Fukuoka City via Route 3. I was surprised at how close I was to the city center from Fukunoyu, just about a 10-minute drive. I aimed for Route 202, but got lost in the city, wasting some time. A lesson for the next trip. Today, I am here at Fukunoyu in Shingucho from 9 am. I brought water, a razor, and a toothbrush set as companions for the rock bath. I got them from the neighboring Trial store. The price is 1800 yen, which includes delicious 80% buckwheat soba, chicken tempura bowl, rock bath, and bathing. This is cheap. The soba and tempura are tastier than other nearby shops. I've used the massage chair about three times already. I'll also go to Rouryu later. I like watching the efforts of the Heat Wave Team. I plan to nap all day in the sleeping space outside of the bath. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered the tonkatsu set meal with plenty of cabbage and free extra rice. On weekdays, if you buy a ticket that includes a bath, the meal ends up costing around 500 yen. The menu includes soba and udon noodles, set meals with soba, fried chicken, tonkatsu, and other side dishes.

This is a hot spring center with a sauna. After relaxing in the hot spring, I went to the restaurant. I wanted to have a beer, but due to the impact of the coronavirus, alcohol is not available. Instead, I ordered a delicious crispy fried chicken set meal. I finished with soba noodles. The meal after soaking in the hot spring was very soothing.

At "Fukuno-yu" in Shingu, whenever my child comes home for a visit, we always end up going to the public bath for some reason. When we have a day off, we usually go to Manyo no Yu, but this time we left in the afternoon, so we went to "Fukuno-yu" in Shingu instead. The bath facilities were quite satisfying, and we enjoyed our time there. After bathing, we went to the dining area. Since it was a weekday, the place was empty, and the prices for beer were normal, but the set menu was surprisingly cheap. I had a draft beer and added a sausage platter for an extra 180 yen. The value for money was amazing. The large lemon sour for 780 yen had double the usual amount of lemon pieces floating in it. It was irresistible. Taking a bath and drinking in the afternoon... Ohara Shosuke, you're the best.

Located near the Shingu Trial on Route 3, this facility was recommended to me by an acquaintance. They offer a bath and meal set on weekdays for 1300 yen, where you can choose any meal. After soaking in the bath, I passed on the Super Dry Extra Gold as I had plans later in the day. I opted for the Negitoro bowl and soba set for 900 yen. The dining area is self-service, and you ring a bell on the terminal to pick up your order. The Negitoro bowl was served with soba noodles and miso soup. The soy sauce on the side was slightly less sweet than typical Kyushu soy sauce. The portion size was decent, and the soba noodles were flat and had a good texture and aroma. There are also raised seating areas for a comfortable dining experience, but lying down is not allowed. The soba water is self-serve in containers that hold about one serving, perfect for a light post-bath refreshment.

It seems that the prices went up on February 22, 2023. The dining space is spacious with tatami seating available. Meals come with free rice and you can also get a large serving for free.
