Fukuoka's long-established wholesale fish market, "Fukuei Suisan," which has been passed down for four generations, has opened at the RaRaPort Fukuoka, offering fresh seafood bowls and eel directly from the Nagahama fish market. It has been almost a month since the opening of RaRaPort Fukuoka, but it is still very crowded even on weekdays. The food court has a stark difference between the shops with long lines and those with no lines at all. This is not necessarily due to popularity based on taste, but rather because shops with branches in Tokyo, such as those making their first foray into Kyushu, tend to have long lines, while local Fukuoka and Kyushu shops, despite being popular for their delicious food, remain relatively empty. There are plenty of seats available, so finding a place to sit is not a problem. This particular shop has a small menu and does not involve deep-frying, so it was relatively empty. The seafood options include seafood bowls, tuna bowls, and nodoguro bowls. As for the eel, there are eel rice bowls, eel bowls, and eel rice balls. I was drawn to the eel rice balls, but unfortunately, they were sold out. The "Upper Eel Rice Bowl" (1080 yen) has a slightly larger portion of eel, while the "Premium Upper Eel Rice Bowl" (1280 yen) has a smaller portion, and the "Eel Bowl" (880 yen) has a smaller portion of eel. The Upper Eel Rice Bowl is currently offered at a special price, so I recommend it over the bowl options. You can freely take small bags of sansho pepper. The eel is milder than eel, not as thick but still plump and without a strong smell. The sauce is moderately sweet and quite delicious. I thought it could use a bit more sauce while eating, but looking at other people's reviews and photos later, it seems like there was actually a decent amount of sauce, so maybe I just got a little less. The miso soup that comes with it is also elegant in taste and quite delicious. It's surprising to find such quality in a food court, but it's convenient and enjoyable to eat here.
