At noon on this day, the temperature in Tokyo reached 36 degrees. I sought refuge from the intense heat by immersing myself in a basement restaurant called "Gasto," which means "delicious" in Spanish. The interior was decorated with intense red accents, like a condensed essence of Spain. I couldn't help but mutter "Bonita" (beautiful). I ordered the Margherita pizza, naturally. As I reminisced about the pizza baked in the oven by Madre, the Valencia breeze carried the scent of basil. The intensely passionate pizza reminded me of a Spanish guitar. The dough was moist and full of flavor, with a unique technique that brought out the taste of the wheat to the fullest. The high-quality mozzarella and tomato perfectly harmonized, creating an exquisite flavor. Next, I ordered the garlic grilled chicken. At 450 yen, it was reasonably priced, but it looked very meager compared to the sample photo. The strong acidity and lack of freshness of the garlic were unpleasantly noticeable. A transparent liquid, like meat juice, was plentiful. Unfortunately, it was completely worthless. I was suddenly brought back from a moment under the Spanish sun to the stifling reality of Tokyo's midsummer. Gasto is not an authentic Spanish restaurant, but just an inexpensive family restaurant. However, I was satisfied to enjoy a brief escape. I settled the bill and thanked the cashier with "Gracias." He looked surprised, and his impressive figure stayed in my mind.

Located underground just a short walk from the station, there is a Gusto. At first glance, the Book Off sign seems more noticeable?? I went on a rainy weekday night and it was quite empty, which was nice. The staff were friendly and provided very pleasant customer service! They answered questions promptly and were very considerate, even though they were dealing with a different group. It was impressive. It's nice that there are many tables with power outlets. If I had to say something... I felt like the signal was weak, but maybe it was just my phone? (laughs) They also have self-checkout.

Ueno was crowded with shops, but I managed to find this place. The teamwork of the staff was amazing, with one person asking for the number of people and another raising their hand to show us to our seats as soon as we entered. Set drink bar 252 yen, Strawberry and Berry Tiramisu Parfait 659 yen, Spinach Bacon 329 yen, Garlic Sesame Sauce Fried Chicken 165 yen, Draft Beer (Glass) 384 yen. Total 1789 yen. After attending the Ueno Corner Bar Festival, we went to Gusto for more drinks. The parfait was a special for Valentine's season and it was delicious. It's easy to use after all. Family restaurants are a wonderful type of business that anyone, regardless of age or gender, can easily use. This time, I visited "Gusto Ueno Hirokoji Store" in Ueno, Tokyo. The store is located in the basement of a mixed building near the Ueno Hirokoji intersection, with a Book Off store inside. Among the various well-known chains, this one stands out the most. While searching the menu on the touch panel, I came across something called "Karaage Set Meal". Basically, it's a fried chicken set meal. I had tried their fried chicken for takeout before, but I had never eaten it in the store. Alright, I'll go with this. The "Karaage Set Meal" (4 pieces of chicken thighs, tax included 879 yen) comes with fried chicken, rice, miso soup, pickles, and kimchi. They also provide a separate dish of miso sauce for dipping the fried chicken. You can get a free upgrade to a larger portion of rice. Nice! The rice is of high quality, unlike the rice served at izakayas or ramen shops, which is often cooked in advance and left for some time. The fried chicken has a crispy coating and juicy meat inside. The miso sauce is also delicious. It was a satisfying set meal with a high level of satisfaction.

This is a Gusto located right near Ueno-Hirokoji Station. It is on the basement floor of a building and there is an elevator available. I went there for breakfast on a weekday morning. They had a 90-minute time limit due to the cherry blossom season. I ordered using a touch screen and was seated at a small booth with the ability to charge my phone. It's great that you can have a reasonably priced breakfast here.

I really liked a restaurant that closed down, and I thought I wouldn't be able to have lunch there anymore. But now I found out that their menu is available at Gusto, so I realized that Gusto was actually located here. It's along Chuo Street, close to Matsuzakaya, but it doesn't really stand out compared to places like Seven or BOOK-OFF. It's actually located underground, not on the second floor as I initially thought. I ordered their famous fried chicken and set meal with rice, miso soup, side dish, pickles, and a drink. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, but the miso soup was a bit bland for my taste. The iced coffee I had afterwards was not very cold, which was a bit disappointing. The total bill came to 923 yen, which was within my budget. Looking back, I realized that the ladies' set meal I used to have at the closed restaurant was only 590 yen with a drink included. I'll have to check if they have a similar option here next time. Overall, I might choose a lighter meal option and add dessert to stay within my budget in the future. I'll definitely visit again.

Gusto was the first in the family restaurant industry to introduce mango to their menu, giving mango a place in Japanese cuisine. When mango parfait season comes around, you can't help but visit Gusto. The base is mango jelly, topped with strawberry sauce, mascarpone cream, banana, mango, soft serve ice cream, almonds, and chocolate sauce, creating a diverse and varied composition. Last year, they used plenty of fruits in their mango dessert, showcasing their pioneering approach, but perhaps there were some challenges with mango import prices and logistics this year.

This is a review for a morning service at a restaurant located on the B1 floor. You can either take the stairs or the elevator down. There are other stores in the same building such as Seven Eleven, Book Off, and a net cafe. It's conveniently located near the station and opens early in the morning. On this day, the back smoking area was not being used. They probably open it up when it gets busier. I ordered my usual morning set and it was served in about 5 minutes. Thank you for the meal.

For lunch, we went to Gusto as per the kids' request. They were excited about the gacha gacha toys. We had corn soup and kids' set with udon, hamburger, and added potatoes. I had seafood salt yakisoba. The kids enjoyed the yakisoba, so I ended up eating the hamburger, rice, and a few potatoes that they didn't finish. The yakisoba was a hit with the kids no matter the flavor.

I went to a museum in Tokyo with two male friends for the day (Day 4). After finishing our plans for the day, we had a reflection meeting at a nearby izakaya, and since we were still a bit hungry, we decided to go to Gusto. When we arrived, we noticed there were plenty of empty seats, but the waitress attending to the bill payments told us to wait until she could seat us. After a few minutes, she finally told us to sit wherever we liked. We ordered the hamburger with rice and all-you-can-drink soup. While waiting for our food, we decided to have some egg soup. When I tried to have a second bowl of soup during the meal, I found the container empty. I informed a nearby waitress, but the soup was not refilled until we left the table 15 minutes later. The hamburger was not as visually appealing as other steakhouse hamburgers, but I personally prefer hamburgers with less meat juice. The thickness of the hamburger could be improved. The rice at Gusto was average, but it had a nice sweetness to it. Despite the issues with service and the soup, I might still use Gusto, but I probably won't revisit this particular location.

Tokyo, Taito-ku. Took a stroll through Ameyoko in Ueno. Got a little tired so took a break at a family restaurant located underground. It was crowded so we had to leave in 90 minutes. There were many parents with babies and toddlers. The kid next to us was so cute when he said, "I want this!" Thursday's daily lunch special was 549 yen (tax included) and the drink bar was 219 yen (tax included) after using a coupon. I had the same lunch special last time. The hamburger was a bit firmer than the previous place but still delicious. I enjoyed cappuccino and tea at the drink bar, making the 90 minutes worthwhile. Thank you for the meal.

Going down underground, there is a shop. "Avocado Shrimp Salad for 701 yen" is available. They use half of a fresh avocado in it. Get your vitamins! "Set Drink Bar for 237 yen" is also available. The drink bar has a variety of tea options, which is nice.

Yesterday's lunch was at "Gusto" near Ueno Station. Currently, the Cheese Hamburg (regular price ¥599) is on sale for ¥399. I ordered the Cheese Hamburg by itself and used a ¥100 drink bar coupon that I received previously. I had orange juice, vegetable juice, Earl Grey tea, espresso, and barley tea at the drink bar. After the meal, I had a coffee. The restaurant was a bit crowded even though I went during the early afternoon. The service was a bit lacking, as I was left waiting at the cashier and my table was almost cleared while I was at the drink bar. Overall, it was a good deal due to the discounts and coupons. The discount campaign for the Cheese Hamburg ends today, so be aware. I also received another coupon at the cashier, making it a great value. If you're planning to visit Gusto, I recommend the Naka-Okachimachi branch which is a bit less crowded and more pleasant.

Today's lunch was on a tight budget as it was before payday, so I had the "daily lunch special (539 yen)" at Gusto. It included teriyaki hamburger, sausage, and chicken karaage, a hearty combination of meat dishes. It was truly appreciated that I could enjoy a leisurely lunch at a family restaurant for this price.

I enjoyed the meal very much. I am very satisfied. I was satisfied with the portion size of the lunch.

A valuable restaurant in the Ueno area where family restaurants are scarce. It gets crowded quickly after noon, so it's recommended to go early. Whenever I go to Gusto, I always end up ordering the "mountain of French fries".

The appropriate amount for a casual second round is two draft beers and a small plate of potatoes. Everyone should try it out!
