Located on the 4th floor of the long-established restaurant "Teraoka" at the 2nd exit of Nakasu Kawabata Station, a sushi restaurant opened on 7/15. Although the website gave the impression of being a place for training young chefs, during my visit, it was actually veteran chefs who served us. I made a reservation via Tabelog the day before, but with no reviews available, I was slightly anxious about the 3,600 yen lunch set without knowing how many pieces of nigiri it included. The counter, with a splendid red theme, was impressive. The menu included the most affordable option, the 3,600 yen lunch set (tax and service charge included, with a soft drink and credit card payment accepted). I chose ginger ale as my soft drink, which was served generously. The appetizer was "amitake simmered in soy sauce," a dish of mushrooms simmered in a slightly lighter soy sauce, which had a strong umami flavor. The sushi rice was seasoned with vinegar and the pieces were slightly smaller. The sushi, including toro, squid, sea bream, sea urchin, and more, were all delicious. The meal ended with a dessert-like egg, a toro tetchu, and a refreshing plum jelly. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and value of the 3,600 yen lunch set. The only minor issue was the fast pace of serving, as the next dish would arrive before finishing the current one. I had a chat with the staff after the meal and learned that the evening course includes all-you-can-drink options, starting from 15,000 yen, with three pieces of tuna included. Despite this, the lunch set is suitable for solo diners, and I would like to visit again if given the chance.
