I was craving udon and came across Iroha, a hand-made udon restaurant in Honmachi. I tried their evening set meal for 1100 yen, which included grilled beef udon with a raw egg on top and a side of rice. The udon portion can be increased up to 2 servings for free. It's conveniently located near a Times parking lot, making it easy to access by car. I definitely want to go back to this restaurant! ✨

When I lived in Osaka, I often went out to eat udon. Osaka offers a wide variety of udon, from soft and smooth udon to firm and chewy Sanuki udon. I particularly enjoyed the soft udon with broth like Komatsu udon. Even now, when I visit Osaka, I sometimes have udon. One of the restaurants I found was located a few minutes south of Utsubo Park. I went there for lunch on a weekday around 1:15 PM, and the place was quite crowded with business people. The restaurant prides itself on using homemade hand-cut noodles made from Hokkaido wheat flour and dashi made with Rishiri kelp, without any artificial seasonings. I ordered the "daily udon set meal (770 yen)" with cold "tempura with grated daikon and green onion" because I had been walking a lot and it was hot. The tempura was well-fried and placed on top of the udon. The broth had a slightly sweet and elegant flavor from using kombu and various types of bonito flakes. The rice with mixed toppings also had a flavorful taste. I think chewy udon with a firm texture is better than soft udon in Osaka. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

When I returned home to Osaka, I went to a new restaurant for dinner for the first time. I was hungry, so I ordered the Oden Mori Set Meal for 950 yen, which seemed to have a lot of food. It came with udon, 5 types of oden, and mixed rice. The udon had a Kansai-style broth, maybe with kombu. The noodles were soft and delicious. The oden was flavorful, and it went well with the mixed rice. It had been a while since I had Kansai-style udon and oden, and it was delicious. I will definitely come back again! #Iroha #ShinsuiUdonIroha #Udon #Oden #KansaiStyleUdon #Noodles #Noodlestagram #NoodleLover #Honmachi #HonmachiGourmet #HonmachiDinner #UdonIzakaya #Osaka #OsakaGourmet #OsakaDinner #Gourmet #Dinner #osaka #honmachi #dinner #udon #foodstagram

During lunchtime, the restaurant is full of office workers. Most of them are eating the lunch set with various toppings. I was hesitant about what to order, I wanted curry udon but was worried it might not be good. I looked around but couldn't find anyone eating curry udon... so I ended up ordering a set meal. First, I tasted the broth (´ω`) and then slurped up the udon in one go (´ω`). In short, it was "average". The broth was very light, quite different from my previous visit. The udon had a chewy texture and a nice mouthfeel, but the broth was too thin, which was a downside. I managed to enjoy it with the umami and sweetness of the toppings... However, the restaurant was packed with customers during lunchtime! The menu also offers good value for money! Thank you for the meal (^人^)

Today, I finished my main work in the morning, so I decided to have an early lunch! I wanted to try the curry udon at "Iroha" but couldn't find it on the menu (laughs). Luckily, the waitress told me that today's special was "Chicken Tempura Curry Udon with white rice set," so I ordered it right away! It was served quickly since it was still early, and they even gave me a paper apron for lunch (bow). First, I tried the curry broth, which was not too spicy but rather gentle in flavor. It was rich and not like a shabu-shabu style. The meat seemed to be added later to the curry, not cooked together from the start. But it was quite delicious ❤ The noodles were firm as always, with a smooth texture, especially enjoyable since the dish was served hot. This attention to detail shows the dedication of "Iroha." Normally, I would put rice on the spoon, dip it in the broth, and alternate between the noodles and rice. But today, there was less broth, so I enjoyed the curry udon and rice alternately. It was delicious ❤ The curry udon at "Iroha" is quite good. Towards the end, I noticed that there was broth left at the bottom of the bowl. I'll keep that in mind for next time. Thank you for the meal! ❤❤ (bow)

I aimed for a nearby udon restaurant, but there was a notice posted saying that they were closed due to equipment failure, which was a shock. However, I found out that there was another restaurant nearby, so I decided to go in. The entrance of the restaurant was messy, with bikes, bicycles, and bulletin boards scattered around. I started to doubt whether the food would be good. But once I entered, I found a clean restaurant with well-spaced counter and table seats, allowing me to enjoy my meal in peace. I ordered bukkake udon and when asked if I wanted it warm, I requested it cold. Despite the hot weather outside, I preferred the cold version. After a short wait of 2 minutes, the dish arrived. The udon noodles were cooked perfectly, with a great texture. I had thought that Osaka udon lacked firmness and had a less satisfying mouthfeel compared to Sanuki udon, but the noodles at this restaurant were cooked to perfection, with an al dente texture. It was delicious. The price was 600 yen, and you could get a large portion (1.5 servings) for the same price.

2022-08-02 (Tuesday) 11:25 Sunny scorching hot Today, it's scorching hot from the moment I woke up (>_<) On my way to work, I kept thinking, "I want to eat cold udon today ❤." After finishing the morning meeting and cleaning up, I made a quick stop at "Iroha" to satisfy my craving. I am a born and raised Kansai person, and I prefer Kansai-style noodles with warm broth, but when it comes to "cold noodles," it has to be "Sanuki" noodles, right? When I looked at the menu board in front of the store, the daily special was "bukkake udon with soft-boiled egg and shrimp tempura" (you can choose cold or hot). I was torn! I decided to order the cold version. "You can have extra noodles for free," they said, so I took advantage of that offer. As expected, at this time, the store was not crowded at all. But it took about 5 minutes from ordering to serving because they boiled the noodles after I placed my order. Finally, the moment I've been waiting for! I sprinkled the chopped green onions and grated ginger that came with it and said, "Let's dig in!" "Oh, it's amazing! The noodles are incredibly chewy," I exclaimed. It's not just chewy, it's almost "tough" (laughs), but it's incredibly "mochi-mochi" (chewy) too. The aroma of the wheat is also amazingly good. "As expected!" Actually, I have visited "Iroha" a few times before, but this is my first time trying their cold noodles. There are affordable chain restaurants nearby that also serve cold noodles, but personally, I can't handle frozen noodles, especially when they're cold. Today, they satisfied my morning appetite, and I am truly grateful. "Thank you very much!" I will visit again. However, since it's always busy, I can't make impromptu visits all the time... I'm sorry (>_<)

I arrived at a slightly distant store on the main street at 12:08 and had to wait for 4 people before being seated at 12:16. My order came out in 5 minutes, so even though it was a bit crowded, there was plenty of time to enjoy the thick and hearty udon. The beef and egg bowl set with bukkake udon was delicious with a flavorful broth.

Today, I had udon for lunch at Iroha in Honmachi. It was unusual that there wasn't a long line, so I was able to enter quickly and wait a little before being seated at the counter. While waiting, I ordered the udon set meal for 770 yen. It was a hot and cold udon set with tempura and rice with toppings. I added an extra 1.5 servings of udon for free. The udon set meal was served quickly after I sat down. The udon had a good texture and was delicious. The tempura had a slightly sweet flavor, which was unique and tasty. It was a popular udon restaurant among salarymen. Thank you for the meal.

Today, for some reason, I had a strong craving for delicious "curry udon," so I decided to go to Iroha during my lunch break. Surprisingly, I was able to get in 10 minutes early as there was still space available. However, to my disappointment, I realized that the curry udon was not actually on the menu. Feeling a bit down, I ended up ordering the daily special instead, which was "kitsune udon, shrimp tempura, and mixed rice." Despite not getting the curry udon I had been imagining, I must say that Iroha never disappoints, and the meal was delicious. The noodles were just right, not too firm like Sanuki-style udon nor too soft like Kansai-style udon. It was just perfect for me. The shrimp tempura was crispy, the kitsune udon was fluffy, and the broth was flavorful. Above all, the mixed rice that came with the set was also delicious. Eating mixed rice during lunch break always brings a sense of calmness. Although I didn't get to have the curry udon I was craving, I was still very satisfied with my lunch today. Thank you for the meal!

I entered just before lunchtime on August 30th. I had lunch at this udon noodle shop before and the noodles were hand-made and quite delicious. Today, I ordered the daily udon set meal with a choice of hot or cold udon. I chose the hot udon with a large serving, which turned out to be 1.5 portions. The hot udon today was pork and watercress udon with mixed rice and pickles. The food was served in about 5 minutes and it was delicious. The noodles had a good texture and the pork flavor in the soup was a great match. The mixed rice was also very tasty. I left the restaurant feeling full and happy. When I finished paying, there was already a line forming outside the shop. I was lucky to have finished in time. Thank you for the meal, I will definitely visit again.

Today's cafeteria menu was not appealing, so I decided to visit a restaurant called "Iroha" that I found on Tabelog. It was my first time visiting this place and I was pleasantly surprised by the number of customers despite the early lunchtime. I ordered the daily lunch set with udon, which was served promptly and stress-free. Today's special was kitsune and mixed tempura udon with side dish rice. I added some of my own Yamasu Tsujita seven spice blend to the noodles and enjoyed the smooth texture and delicious flavors. The noodles were reminiscent of Sanuki style but with a gentle touch. The toppings of fried tofu and shrimp tempura were decent for a lunch set. The side dish rice was comforting and satisfying. Overall, the meal was unexpectedly delicious and I look forward to trying their cold noodles next time. As I paid the bill, I caught a glimpse of the kitchen where they seemed to be making their own noodles. It's no wonder the noodles tasted so good. I will definitely be visiting this place again. Thank you for the meal today.

I chose the Nasu Tensei Shoyu Udon. I'm not interested in bukkake, and I don't need the side dish of rice for lunch, so I opted for just the noodles. However, this time I chose the regular size. It says 1.5 times the regular size, but they called it regular size. I can't really get used to calling it regular size, but it sounds cooler that way. The udon here is as good as they say it is, being hand-made, but I wish it was a little colder. The tempura seemed a bit smaller. The staff's hospitality was lacking and felt obligatory, but since there aren't many udon shops around, it's a rare find. Thank you for the meal.

At lunchtime, I was walking around near my house heading to a specific store, but it turned out the store was closed (´⊙ω⊙`). I was confused if it had closed down or was just closed for the day. I started walking aimlessly and soon found this udon restaurant nearby! Since the udon place I tried earlier was closed, it was convenient. There were about 6 people waiting outside, but the turnover was quick. I got the donburi set that most salarymen were ordering, and my companion got the meat udon. It was really delicious for lunch. The udon was served as 1.5 portions during lunchtime, which was the right choice as one portion might not have been enough. The restaurant didn't have a big impact, but it's a place you can visit regularly. I look forward to trying out different menu items in the future. Thank you for the meal(^人^)

I gave up on waiting in line at a popular udon restaurant nearby due to lack of time, but I was really craving udon, so I rode my bike to Iroha-san. It was late, so there was only one customer inside. I ordered the daily set meal and a large serving of udon. After about 15 minutes of waiting, the food was served. I mistakenly thought it was an eel rice bowl, so I was surprised when I saw the udon, which was thin and had a great texture. Each noodle was long, and I prefer to slurp them until the end, so I switched to a strategy of picking up two noodles at a time with chopsticks. Despite ordering a large serving, the portion was huge! I didn't think I could finish it, but I managed to. The mixed rice had a strong flavor. Thank you for the meal.

I felt like eating warm udon, so I went into a restaurant. For lunch, I chose warm kitsune udon with tempura on top and a warm boiled egg. I also ordered mixed rice with toppings. The mixed rice was very delicious, with well-seasoned rice that made me want to have seconds. The udon had a good texture, not as chewy as Sanuki udon but still satisfying and tasty. The tempura was small but had shrimp, and considering the price, it was reasonable. The restaurant was crowded during lunchtime, but the aroma of the broth was good, and overall, I enjoyed the meal.

Located near the 23rd exit of Honmachi Station on the Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line, this udon restaurant opened in 2010. The shop stands out with its flags and signs. The interior has a traditional Japanese atmosphere with a spacious layout. Popular lunch menu items include udon and rice bowl sets. I ordered the udon set with tempura and warm egg topping, along with mixed rice. The hand-made udon has a nice texture and the dashi broth is flavorful without any artificial additives. The large pieces of bamboo shoots are crunchy and delicious. This restaurant offers tasty udon at a reasonable price.

I had lunch alone. There are a lot of replacement meals when I'm in the office, but sometimes I can't resist and eat out. I think there are few traditional Japanese set meal and udon restaurants in Honmachi. There are many ramen and Chinese, or rather fried chicken set meal restaurants. I ventured to the south side of Chuo Odori. The traditional Japanese set meal restaurant I was aiming for was full, so I went to an udon restaurant instead. It seems like they make the noodles in the store. It was not crowded as it was early. They only had tempura chicken on top of udon, so I ordered eggplant tempura with raw soy sauce udon. The udon noodles were not too thick, slightly thin, and did not have a transparent appearance, they looked like regular noodles. They were chewy and had a strong stickiness, but I didn't feel much flavor. The raw soy sauce was thick, slightly sweet, and had some originality. Usually, there are more noodle dipping sauces, but this was different. The eggplant tempura was hot and delicious. The condiments included grated radish, green onions, lemon, and grated ginger. I always wonder why there is lemon, and there are too many, I think. I will eat it with the grated ginger to make it more palatable. Finished eating. The udon was decent, and the tempura was delicious.

Hello! Today, I came to a udon restaurant called "Iroha" in Honmachi. The interior of the restaurant has tables and a counter, with additional tables at the back. Since it was cold today, I ordered a warm udon with a topping of chicken and tempura. The broth is flavorful, and the noodles are smooth. The tempura is not crispy but has a chewy texture. It was a warm and comforting meal. Thank you for the delicious food.

I had the lunch set meal, which was Kitsune and Ebi Tempura Udon with side dish rice. I enjoyed my lunch, and the udon here in Osaka is very soft. I'm not a fan of the Kanto region's dark broth, but the broth here is delicious. As I get older, I think Japanese broth is the best. There is always a line of 5 or 6 people, but the turnover is quick.
