Guruguru Torikawa is delicious and I really want to go again.

The event in Kyuyama area has also ended successfully. I was picked up by my family, loaded the luggage, and tried to find a place for dinner but got turned away due to being fully booked, so we ended up at Takenoya in Hata. It's a popular restaurant with a stable reputation, so we settled for the 3 counter seats. In front of us was the grill. The kids' favorite, cold chicken wings, arrived quickly. 390 yen. The assorted grilled chicken skewers for 990 yen were not bad in terms of cost performance. Cheese tempura for 390 yen. This is something you can make at home, right? The seared oysters and seaweed with ponzu for 390 yen looked delicious as they were being prepared at the counter. Margherita pizza for 590 yen, anago sushi for 150 yen as the finale. I'm on a diet, so I kept my carb intake to a minimum and finished with a highball refill, all for 5000 yen for 3 people. It's cheap, even though we didn't eat too much. While there were no big surprises, it's a reliable izakaya where families can enjoy a meal together.

After finishing up our search for a new home, my in-laws and I, a total of five people, went to a nearby seafood and grilled chicken izakaya called "Takenoya Hatta Store." It is a large two-story restaurant that can accommodate up to 150 people, with a parking lot next to the store. We arrived around 6 pm on a weekday and were seated at a table as there were few customers at that time. The atmosphere was nice, with mostly families around us. The menu was extensive, offering a variety of dishes such as sashimi, grilled chicken, fried foods, motsunabe (offal hot pot), and more. On that day, we ordered: - Fresh spear squid sashimi from Yobuko Port - Cheese tempura - Steamed clams in sake - Grilled chicken thighs - Assorted skewers - Motsunabe with soy broth - Fried chicken - Prawn with mayonnaise - French fries - Stick spring rolls with spicy cod roe and cheese - Smashed cucumber salad - Grated yam on hot plate - Ume tea pickles The top five dishes of the day were: - Fresh spear squid sashimi: Despite being on the smaller side for the price, the squid sashimi was a treat. The texture was great, and the tempura squid legs that came later were also delicious. - Grilled chicken thighs: Made with Satsuma red chicken and cooked over charcoal, the crispy chicken thighs were seasoned perfectly with a sprinkle of spice. - Motsunabe with soy broth: We didn't have high expectations for this dish due to its price and location, but it turned out to be surprisingly tasty with a generous amount of offal. - Stick spring rolls with spicy cod roe and cheese: A new dish for us, the crispy spring rolls paired perfectly with the spicy cod roe and cheese, creating a delightful harmony of flavors. - Smashed cucumber salad: Light and refreshing, the salad with a hint of garlic-infused dressing was a delightful addition to our meal. This restaurant is family-friendly, with a menu that caters to both adults and children. We used a coupon from Tabelog to get a 10% discount on the bill, which my in-laws kindly covered. When I heard the name of the restaurant, I briefly thought, "I wonder if it's good." However, the food was not the main purpose, so I didn't pay much attention to it. But it turned out to be a great choice. The restaurant is located in a remote area, but surprisingly has a large parking lot. After a toast, the banquet began with dishes like fresh squid sashimi, assorted sashimi, grilled Miyazaki chicken, fried chicken, rolled omelette, and more, all of which were delicious with well-seasoned flavors. The young staff members were lively and seemed to be having fun. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lively and we ended up opening two bottles of sake. They offer Fukuoka's famous sake "Hansomaru" and several types of junmai sake. Good food and a fun time make business discussions go smoothly, and we even made plans to return. Fukuoka is full of delicious places, isn't it...

The evening meeting ended early, so I started drinking with my drinking buddy, O, near my home. We decided to drink near my home to avoid expensive taxi fares from Tenjin. We went to Takenoya in Hata, which is about 10km away from Tenjin. This place used to be a family-friendly restaurant for us. In Fukuoka, many izakayas with yakitori also serve cabbage as a complimentary appetizer before the first dish arrives, which is very convenient. The cabbage is refillable. The appetizers included potato salad, Suzuki sashimi, bonito tataki, and octopus sashimi. The octopus was tasty but a bit painful due to the suction cups. The Suzuki sashimi was around 390 yen. The eel kabayaki was soft and delicious, priced at around 500 yen. The Miyazaki chicken thigh yakitori was black and crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful inside, priced at 790 yen. The soup dumplings were flavorful, but the soup was a bit salty. The special fried rice with miso soup had plenty of diced pork and was tasty but a bit strong in flavor. The chocolate soft serve for dessert was not as expected, but it was still enjoyable. Overall, the food was affordable and delicious, with some unique items like cold chicken wings.

I went in on a holiday night around 7 pm, and there were quite a few empty seats, probably because it was the last day of a 3-day weekend. They are popular for their fresh squid sashimi and other seafood dishes. I ordered a variety of dishes including charcoal-grilled local chicken, yakitori, and other izakaya menu items. The rolled omelette came out whole, so I had to cut it myself with a knife. It was delicious and hot. The grated daikon radish paired perfectly with it. The charcoal-grilled local chicken had a nice texture, and when eaten with the chili pepper provided, the spicy kick and smoky flavor combined well. The sweet potato tempura was surprisingly good. It came with a generous serving of margarine to dip in, which enhanced the flavor. They had a good selection of rice dishes for the end of the meal, so I ordered grilled rice balls and omurice. The omurice was hearty and tasty for the price. The grilled rice balls were topped with butter and were delicious. Since the restaurant wasn't full, the staff had time to spare, making my dining experience relaxed. Thank you for the meal.

I became a member of the email list. I receive regular notifications about a specific menu being half price. The restaurant used to have a chic atmosphere and was easy on the wallet, but ever since they started the XX sale, the place has become overcrowded with customers. The parking lot is full on weekends, and there are too many children, making it hard to enjoy a peaceful meal. I would rather they return to their old atmosphere, even if they don't offer discounts.

This is a restaurant that is close to home and my family often visits. I recommend the grilled local chicken, sesame mackerel, and chicken liver. The owner is very friendly and you can relax while enjoying your meal. They have a wide variety of sweet potato shochu, which is great for someone like me who loves sweet potato shochu. The prices are a bit high, so it's not always a casual dining option, but it's our go-to izakaya. I think it would be nice if the dishes had a bit more volume. The restaurant is spacious on both the first and second floors, making it perfect for parties or family meals.
