In a retro cafe with a cozy atmosphere where smoking is allowed, I ordered coffee jelly. The jelly was easy to eat with no strong taste, and when paired with rich ice cream, it became a delicious dessert! I was surprised that the restroom was Japanese-style.

A nostalgic and charming old-fashioned coffee shop. The only downside is that smoking is allowed, but the coffee jelly more than makes up for it. With a hint of rum, it helps you forget any worries or sadness and enjoy a blissful time. The Viennese coffee was also delicious.

We are Tsuchinuko and Chibitsunu! Today, we came to do some shopping at the longest shopping street in Japan, Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street. Chibitsunu: "I found a cute cafe with a nice name!" It's a cafe called "Coffee Institute Zukou" at the end of Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street 1-chome. "Zukou" is read as "Zukou"?? Chibitsunu: "It seems like 'Zukou' is pronounced as 'Zukou'." Really!? That's cool! (laughs) The classic interior is nice. My retro cafe-loving heart is excited. We ordered the cake set for 850 yen. You can choose your favorite cake + coffee (Hot blend, Americano, or Ice). The cakes available that day were cheesecake, rare cheesecake, Mont Blanc, and apple shiboust. I chose the apple shiboust. I like pudding cakes, so when there is shiboust on the menu, I always end up ordering it. This one is delicious. Chibitsunu chose the Mont Blanc. It's a bit small, but the chestnut flavor is just right with a mild sweetness, and it's also delicious. We both had iced coffee as our drink. It had a bit of bitterness, which paired well with the cake. We spent a relaxing time listening to the classical BGM in the cafe. Mameshan, I liked it, so let's come back again sometime. On Sunday at 2:00 PM, I went to "Koiin Dokou" at Osaka Tenmangu Shrine. It's a nostalgic coffee shop with a classic atmosphere. The interior plays classical music, with dim lighting and antique-style furniture. Lately, I feel like I've been visiting these types of cafes a lot. I ordered a "Blend Coffee (450 yen)." It arrived in 4 minutes. One sip. Delicious. The blend is very easy to drink. It has a mild bitterness and acidity, with a good richness and a light feeling as it goes down your throat. Right in front of me is "Ibuki Coffee Shop," and the shopping street in Tenjinbashi 1-chome has a somewhat Showa-era atmosphere. There are several old-fashioned coffee shops around here, so when I want to relax, I like to wander around. I personally don't like the smoke and smell of cigarettes that often come with coffee shops, but I'll accept it as a trade-off to experience this atmosphere. Thank you for the meal.

This is the third stop on my food tour in the Tenjinbashi-suji shopping street, at the traditional coffee shop "Kohiin Mameka" located on the east side of Tenjinbashi-suji Ichome. I ordered the "Cake Set" which included the "Apple Chiboust" and "Iced Coffee." The "Apple Chiboust" is a French cake made with custard cream mixed with gelatin and Italian meringue, layered with apples on puff pastry and caramelized on top. It was very sweet and creamy, suitable for those who love sweets. The "Iced Coffee" was slightly bitter, but adding some syrup and milk balanced it out nicely. Service: The staff was polite and provided quick service. The atmosphere was relaxed with a natural feel, and the background music was elegant. The cafe was busy with regular customers and some business groups, but the music helped create a comfortable environment for solo customers. Price: The "Cake Set" was priced at 800 yen, which I found reasonable for a traditional coffee shop. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to "Kohiin Mameka" and also took a walk through the shopping street to relieve some back pain caused by lack of exercise. I hope to visit again, but considering the current situation with the fourth wave of COVID-19 in Osaka, I may need to reduce my dining out frequency for now.

Nambasacho Coffee [Tenjinbashi 1-chome, Kita-ku] Located about a 5-minute walk southeast from Minamimorimachi Station, towards Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street, is Coffee House Mameka. After having sushi for lunch and visiting Tenmangu Shrine, we took some time before heading to this cafe around 1 pm. There were about 5-6 customers at that time. I'm not a fan of coffee with alcohol, but I went along with my friend M who loves sweet things (he ordered coffee jelly). Drinking iced coffee seemed to neutralize the alcohol in my system (or so I thought). Thank you for the meal. The Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street in Japan is known as the longest arcade shopping street. It's a great place to stroll around and kill time. If you get tired from walking, head to a café. There are plenty of cafés within the shopping street, so just pick one when you feel tired. This particular café has a cool atmosphere. I heard their cakes are delicious, but since I had already eaten a lot, I decided to try their specialty coffee. I ordered a café au lait made with a siphon. When you drink it without adding sugar, you can really taste the milk and coffee flavors. It was a hot day, but I thought maybe I should have ordered a hot coffee to fully enjoy the nice aroma of the coffee. There may be fewer stylish cafés in Osaka compared to Nagoya, where there are many, but finding hidden gems like this café makes me think Osaka is pretty cool too.

My friend was curious about the Mont Blanc dessert that everyone else had ordered, so we decided to revisit the restaurant. I tried a bit of it, and both the Mont Blanc cream and the whipped cream inside were light and delicious. I can see why everyone orders it.

The coffee jelly and coffee were delicious!! However, it may be tough for non-smokers as it is a smoking-friendly cafe, so there is a lot of smoke!!

Today, my daughter and I, who are addicted to shopping, had lunch at a cafe in Umeda. After that, we went to this cafe on Tenjinbashi-suji street to enjoy some coffee while reading a book. I still prefer coffee made with a siphon. ☕️

I am in Osaka. A café in Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street. The customers here are mainly locals. There is even a man talking loudly on his phone. Even though smoking is allowed, it's not worth getting upset about. I ordered a blend coffee for 400 yen. It was served in a mug-like container with plenty of coffee. It was served quickly. There were water droplets on the cup, which was a bit disappointing. The coffee seemed to have lost its aroma. However, the chairs here have a typical café feel, which is nice. This is important. The restroom was a Japanese-style toilet.
