I visited the restaurant after several months. I thought it was very delicious when I first went, so I was glad to go again. Every dish that came out was delicious, and I thought I would like to go again when I visit Kokura. The chawanmushi and red miso soup were also delicious.

This is a restaurant affiliated with a shop in Moji Port. We used a private room this time. The dishes were all delicious and wonderful. I could feel the attention to detail in the utensils used for the dishes. I was satisfied with the sushi, tempura, chawanmushi, and sashimi. It is also suitable for business entertainment purposes.

This time I came to Kokura and visited here on recommendation. I was guided to a beautiful private room, and the meal was a course menu. Appetizers: - Boiled sardines in nuka - Deliciously cooked bay scallops - Fresh raw sea cucumber - Natural tiger puffer sashimi - Striped jack and saltwater sea urchin - Grilled red squid and young cutlassfish Soup: - Fukagawa-style grilled fish head Grilled dish: - Sweet bream from Sensaki Bowl dish: - Seafood jelly assortment including steamed abalone, steamed sea urchin, shrimp, okra, young corn, and conger eel Fried dish: - Fried baby octopus Rice: - Fried chicken Sushi: - Three pieces of sushi Dessert: - Red meat melon and snack grapes We had natural blowfish which was delicious. I tried cutlassfish for the first time and found it easy to eat with its white flesh. Sea cucumber was also a first for me, and it had a good chewy texture. It was quite a satisfying course meal. Each dish was enjoyable and the blowfish was the best. Thank you for the feast.

As the autumn season arrives, when it comes to fugu, Kyushu is the place to go! I visited this restaurant based on a recommendation from a friend. It is located within 10 minutes from Kokura Station, with several private rooms and a counter inside. The restaurant was fully booked on a Friday, offering a fugu hot pot course and a small à la carte menu. While in Kanto, tessa may be the popular choice for fugu, the thick fugu hot pot here is a must-try. The tessa dipped in fin sake and eaten like shabu-shabu was absolutely delicious. The sashimi platter included sea urchin and whale meat, and it was incredibly tasty. The chawanmushi was silky and flavorful. I also had the pleasure of trying the shabu-shabu with conger eel, which was expertly deboned and incredibly delicious. I look forward to visiting their shop in Ginza next time.

I met up with an old friend who lives in Kitakyushu, and let my friend choose the restaurant. They brought me to a place known for its delicious fish. I remember thinking that the fish from the Genkai Sea was really tasty, but my memory after that is just fragments. As always, I feel embarrassed that I can't remember more. Hopefully I didn't make any mistakes. Thank you for the meal.

This was my first visit to Kokura. I chose this restaurant so I could eat delicious local food freely, and it was a great decision. When I arrived with a reservation, the staff greeted me with a smile and led me to a seat at the back of the counter. The display case was full of seafood and mountain delicacies, with fresh fish from the nearby sea and mushrooms from various places in Kyushu. The sashimi platter was arranged with a piece of each for one person. The freshness and quality of the tuna, sea bream, squid, mackerel, and other items were exceptional. The deep-fried blowfish fin, grilled shiitake mushrooms from Oita, and other non-sashimi dishes were also delicious and reasonably priced. After a while, regular customers and locals, possibly a father and son, filled the counter and private rooms. The chef kindly engaged me in conversation at the perfect moment, considering I was dining alone. They also had a great selection of quality local sake from Yamaguchi and Fukuoka. I ended the meal with the first blowfish milt of the season, which was described as "not as flavorful as usual" but was actually pure and delicious. Despite being a big eater, I was satisfied after enjoying the meal and four different types of sake with beer, and the bill came to around 10,000 yen. It felt like about half the price of a similar meal in Tokyo. I definitely want to visit again.

Delicious but pricey. The taste is average for the high price. Good atmosphere, suitable for entertaining guests. Wide variety of menu options. The simmered dishes look delicious.

A fresh Japanese restaurant in Kokura where you can fully enjoy the delicious seafood from the Kanmon Strait. It is a high-class restaurant, but it is surrounded by a pleasant lively atmosphere. - Appetizer: Conger eel roe jelly / Thousand-year clam simmered in broth / Threaded seaweed with vinegar - Sashimi: Grouper / Horse mackerel / Thread-sail filefish / Tuna belly / Whale tenderloin / Whale bacon / Fresh whale - Simmered dish: Amberjack simmered in broth - Grilled dish: Grilled conger eel with corn - Fried dish: Deep-fried goby - Western dish: Whale steak - Western dish: Shrimp and avocado spring rolls - Rice: Nigiri sushi - Soup: Red miso soup - Dessert: Golden pineapple and cherries Highly recommended for entertaining gourmet guests, quiet couples, or friends gathering for a meal.

Finally reached 300 reviews! I am extremely grateful to everyone who has read them. For my 300th review, I had the opportunity to try the coveted fugu shirako at "Uotomo." I stopped by for a light visit during a drinking party's second round. Since it was late, there was space at the counter, and I was lucky to be able to sit down without a reservation. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It seems like a sushi restaurant with a counter, but they also sell sushi. It's a shame that it was just a quick stop for me. In front of me were fresh-looking fish lined up, and the menu had tempting options like "I want to order plenty with an empty stomach!" You can order small portions, so everyone can order what they like. I ordered a sashimi platter, simmered fish, oysters, tempura, and of course, fugu shirako. Unfortunately, I only have two photos left. You can order in small portions, making it convenient for solo diners. I had just one light beer. The sashimi was fresh, as expected from a sushi restaurant. The oysters were cooked to my liking, with a bit of char. I didn't try the tempura, but my colleague said it was delicious. And now, the shirako! It's my first time trying it - how exciting! I eat it plain at first. I briefly sense a raw smell, but more than that, there's a refreshing, yet creamy and velvety taste. I then try it with grated radish and ponzu. The initial rawness disappears, but I prefer it without the radish to fully appreciate the delicate flavor. It was smoother than cod shirako, which I occasionally have. This place seems to specialize in fugu dishes... I would like to try a fugu course when my wallet is feeling generous. The location is on the first floor of the Mon Gate Building, right near the Monorail Heiwa-dori Station. I only saw the counter, but there also seems to be a calm tatami room in the back. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the place is not as intimidating as it looks. It's a great restaurant.

First of all, the storefront is lovely. Of course, private rooms are also good. The highly recommended dish is the pressed mackerel sushi. The mackerel used is fresh, not cured mackerel. It's rare to find mackerel that hasn't been cured in Kyushu, but the mackerel here is truly delicious as recommended by a friend. Enjoy the side dishes, savor the sake, and have a fun conversation. The joy of life is to talk freely and enjoy good food and drinks. Let's savor a bit of Kitakyushu and gather strength for tomorrow~ (⌒▽⌒)

Located on the ground floor of a building near Ogai Street, Kaji Machi, this restaurant offers a wide range of seasonal seafood dishes and drinks. They offer reasonably priced courses that can be ordered without reservations. With a sushi counter and several tatami seating areas, it is suitable for business meetings and gatherings. The atmosphere is casual, with a young chef and a good selection of regional sake. The food, including dishes like simmered shellfish, sashimi platter, grilled fish, fried fish, and fugu, was delicious and satisfying. Overall, a great dining experience for around 15,000 yen for two people.

This is my 6th visit but my first review! This time, I didn't try the famous blowfish dish, but I enjoyed some delicious sushi and blackthroat seaperch skewers. They were tasty! The hospitality is always top-notch, making you feel like you've returned home. The standout dish was the sardine - it was amazing! It melts in your mouth without any bones. I couldn't resist getting seconds! I also tried the minke whale, which was surprisingly mild and paired well with sake. I keep coming back not just because the staff are all beautiful! Definitely not (^^)

I visited a fish restaurant managed by a fugu wholesaler in Shimonoseki, where the quality of fish, including fugu, is excellent. The appetizers included fugu simmered in soy sauce, hoya salted guts, simmered squid in a small container, and sea urchin and fugu skin salad. Especially the hoya salted guts were delicious and paired well with sake. The fugu sashimi was thinly sliced and had a firm texture with a good balance of aging. The fugu tempura was thick and tasty. The grilled white fugu had a slight bitterness due to the end of the season, but it was still delicious. There was also grilled nodoguro, which was juicy and melted in the mouth. The nodoguro simmered in soy sauce was light and also melted in the mouth. The whale and tuna sashimi platter was of a standard quality. The boiled fugu ovaries were exceptionally flavorful. The meal ended with fugu porridge, which was bursting with umami. The quality of the fugu and other fish was outstanding, and I would like to visit again seasonally. The price was unknown as it was treated by my senior.

Visited around 7pm on a weekday in February with a group of 4 or more, so we used a private room. The entrance on the first floor of Tsubone Building exudes a sense of luxury. The restaurant was lively with a wide variety of dishes besides sushi and sashimi. The fugu, especially being directly managed by a seafood company in Yamaguchi Prefecture, was exceptionally delicious. The must-try dish is the fried fugu fins. The service was friendly and not overly formal, which created a relaxed atmosphere. The most important thing in a sushi restaurant is the comfort. There's nothing more uncomfortable than feeling tense while eating at a sushi restaurant. Sushi is just sushi, and sushi chefs are not above or below the customers. I will definitely visit this restaurant again.

I often go to this place for drinks in Kokura as a second stop. Usually, before that, I have a light drink and snack at a yakitori or oden place. The entrance may look a bit intimidating, but once you step inside, the female owner is friendly and welcoming, creating a surprisingly cozy and friendly atmosphere. The private rooms are not too small or too large, just right. Since it's the second stop, the focus is on drinks, and I've only had sushi, octopus tempura, and grilled fish, all of which were delicious. Honestly, I haven't tried enough dishes to evaluate the food, but the ambiance and atmosphere are great, making it a favorite spot to relax and enjoy drinks. Next time, I'd like to try starting from the first place.
