Lunch on this day was in Sakai city. We went to support a local restaurant in Sakai city that is still open despite the pandemic. We visited a hamburger shop called "LAIDBACK BY BURGERLION" in Hoo. I had the "Cheese Egg Brooklyn Mashed Beef Plate," my child had the "Fish Burger," and my wife had the "BBQ Burger." This place is an American diner located a little further from Hoo station towards Otori Wings, where you can enjoy American burgers. It was our first visit to this place. I heard that the hamburgers were delicious, so we decided to go. What I had was the "Brooklyn Mashed Beef Plate" (laughs). "Mashed beef" apparently refers to "beef pate." The "Cheese Egg Brooklyn Mashed Beef Plate" had mashed beef (beef pate) on top of rice, with cheese and a fried egg on top. It came with French fries, salad, and soup on the side. The beef pate had a texture that included minced meat and chopped meat, allowing me to really taste the beef. The sauce on the side complemented the rice and beef pate perfectly, making it very enjoyable. I also tried a bite of the fish burger and BBQ burger, both of which were delicious! Both the vans and burgers are incredibly delicious. I felt that they were just as good as my favorite burger spot in Osaka Namba, which is in the top 100 burger restaurants. In contrast, the sister store "BURGERLION UTSUBO A GOGO" in Higobashi has a futuristic look. Each store has its unique vibe, which is interesting. Looking at the menu, you'll be overwhelmed by the variety of options available. Not only are there many types of hamburgers, but also mashed beef, paninis, waffles, and more. After much consideration, I chose the "Bacon Burger," which was around 1450 yen (I forgot to take a picture of the menu, sorry). The Bacon Burger arrived with thick-cut vegetables, bacon, and a hearty patty that looked very meaty. Honestly, there is no right way to eat it, but one thing is for sure, you can't eat it elegantly. I happened to find this place when I was looking for a late lunch after 2 o'clock. I wasn't in the mood for bread, but the menu board outside indicated they also had rice dishes. I decided to go in. The other day, I went with a friend and it was so delicious that we decided to go for lunch. They only have completed plates, so there is no lunch menu. You can order drinks at a reasonable price. The burger looks delicious in every way - appearance, color, and size. The patty is made from ground meat and it's cooked medium rare, which makes it really tasty. The buns are also soft and chewy. There's plenty of lettuce, making it very filling. We couldn't finish it all, so we took the leftovers to go. The staff wrapped it up for us. This place is truly delicious.

A few years ago, I had lunch at an Italian restaurant here during the Houno Danjiri Festival and then went to see the festival. The restaurant has since closed and reopened as a hamburger specialty shop. When my friend later asked where I had lunch, I told them about the place and they mentioned that the panini there is delicious and easier to eat than the burgers. I ordered one popular avocado hamburger and one roast beef at the newly opened hamburger shop that replaced the Italian restaurant. The hamburger patty had a meaty and wild taste, which was delicious. The roast beef had plenty of meat piled on top, and just that was enough to fill me up. I also had a drink set for 500 yen, which included a generous guava juice and a refreshing iced coffee. Everything had a sense of attention to detail and was delicious.

Here's what I ordered: Cocoa & Mascarpone Waffle for 1100 yen - okay, Root Beer x2 for 385 yen each - so-so, Egg Burger for 1265 yen - okay, Cheddar Cheese topping for 275 yen - good, Onion Rings for 550 yen - very bitter. The waffle was average, but the Mascarpone on top was delicious. The Root Beer tasted like medicine. The burger was good with tasty bread, cheese, and egg, but the meat had a lot of sinews, which made it hard to eat. The vegetables side was stacked on top of the patty side, making it too big to fit in my mouth. It was so big that even I, with a big mouth, couldn't fit it in (laughs).
