On this day, I decided to visit "Gacharco Gotton" on a whim.
◇Exterior and Interior
Located in Kajimachi, Kokurakita-ku, Kitakyushu City, this izakaya specializing in chicken is on the 2nd floor of the Tsubone Building. The exterior is decorated with withered trees and a striking blue banner. The interior is bright, with classical background music playing, creating a slightly stylish atmosphere. Smoking is allowed.
◇Seating
There are 8 counter seats, 2 tables for 4 people, and 1 table for 6 people with sunken kotatsu seating. The sunken kotatsu seating can be rearranged.
◇Menu Structure
The menu consists of regular items and daily recommendations. The regular menu mainly features chicken, including yakitori, chicken sashimi, grilled dishes, hot pot, etc. The daily recommendations focus on sashimi, ensuring a good variety. They also offer courses. The items I ordered are as follows:
- Tsuri Sashi (1,000 yen)
→ Today's best choice! I initially thought it would be a 4.0 rating on its own, but it was served on a round plate with the fish slices arranged in a circle, topped with grated sesame seeds and thickly sliced onions underneath. The condiments included soy sauce and sesame oil. The garnishes were commercially available grated wasabi, yuzu pepper, grated ginger, and grated garlic, providing a nice variety. The fish was fresh with no unpleasant odor. I personally liked the thickness of the slices. I finished it while saying, "This is the right thickness for enjoying tsuri sashi!" They also offer a good selection of sake to pair with the dish, although the tsuri sashi wasn't cold, the quality was high.
◆Strong Points
Delicious tsuri sashi! And the popular shirako!
◆Service
It was average.
◆Summary
This is one of the places I regularly visit, but it seems to have changed in various ways since the beginning. I didn't review the yakitori, but I decided to pass on it this day. It's not that it's not delicious, but it didn't suit my taste. The negima (chicken and leek skewers) was the most delicious. Let's leave the detailed review to the senior reviewers. Also, I noticed the certification of an "Rice Meister" displayed in the store. This makes me curious about trying sun-dried rice, clay pots, and dashi, although they don't seem to be highlighted in the menu, so I'll leave it to the senior reviewers to explore. Lastly, I always think about the pace of service. It's a bit slow. The owner may be a slow drinker, but even I, who likes to take my time, felt it was slow. On the other hand, it shows their attention to detail, and it's recommended for those who want to relax! Thank you for the meal! ^ ^
