I'm in Osaka. It's Morishoji in Osaka. Just a short walk from the Keihan Morishoji Station. I happened to pass by the front of the store, and at just the right time, there were plenty of takoyaki being cooked, so I couldn't help but stop. There was a takoyaki griddle right by the entrance, and there was a dining area in the back of the store. There seemed to be beer, highball, and other side dish menus, so maybe it would have been nice to eat here instead of taking out? While I was thinking about it, the takoyaki was quickly served on a wooden boat, topped with sauce and mayonnaise, and sprinkled with bonito flakes, all done in no time. So, should I eat and drink at the store next time? I decided to take out this time and went home. When I took out the takoyaki from the plastic lid of the boat, there was a message just like on a Starbucks cup. The staff who helped me was quite... They seemed a bit cold in their service, but maybe a bit tsundere? If I keep getting this kind of service, I might get hooked. The takoyaki was big and fluffy, juicy, and quite delicious. I think I want to eat at the store next time.

It must have been very popular during the summer. It's also nice for having a drink during the day (lol). They offer a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Unfortunately, non-alcoholic beer is not listed on the menu. The restroom is Japanese-style. There are 4 counter seats, 2 tables for 2 people each, and 2 tables for 4 people each. One day at lunchtime, I placed my first Uber Eats order. After getting my third dose of the COVID vaccine in the morning, I decided to buy some pork buns and have them for lunch. However, there was a long line at the store. So, I tried going to a takoyaki shop, but it was also crowded. I ended up going back home and ordering delivery instead. I ordered the special offer of buy one get one free for the 6-piece sauce takoyaki, which cost 620 yen for one set. I decided to get two sets of 8 pieces for 740 yen each, as I was feeling hungry after the vaccination. I also ordered yakisoba with green onions for dinner, which cost 880 yen. The takoyaki arrived, and there were 16 pieces in total. The takoyaki was big and filled with plenty of octopus. It was soft and melty, and the sauce had a nostalgic and delicious flavor. I finished all 16 pieces in one go. The yakisoba with green onions was light and tasty. It felt a bit small for a meal, but it was good. The three items were stacked on top of each other when they arrived, with the yakisoba on top, followed by the takoyaki and then the squished takoyaki at the bottom. Despite the squished container, it did not affect the taste of the takoyaki. The total bill was 2596 yen, with a service fee of 236 yen added to the subtotal of 2360 yen. Thanks to the Eats Pass free trial, the delivery fee was waived, and the 620 yen discount for the 6-piece takoyaki set was applied, resulting in a final bill of 1976 yen. I didn't know this, but apparently, this is a popular shop originating from Nara.

I used this for takeout, or rather received it as a souvenir. I was a little disappointed from the start because it had mayonnaise on it. It's not just this shop, but whenever I buy takoyaki, I always make sure it's without mayonnaise. When did it become so common for takoyaki to come with mayonnaise? I'm also not a fan of mayonnaise on yakisoba. In addition, the trend of having the outside crispy and the inside soft seems to have started in recent years. It's a shame that it's hard to find takoyaki with the traditional chewy texture these days. The taste is delicious, but the texture is not to my liking, so it's disappointing for me.
