I feel like having a tamago dog... I have this urge that comes periodically. There is a delicious hot dog specialty shop in Kokura that I love, but they don't have tamago dogs there. If a tamago sandwich is okay, OCM is popular, but it's a sandwich shop that can fill you up with just one sandwich, so I can't approach it casually. When I want something light to eat, I often go to Subway. Subway's system of taking orders and then filling them with ingredients is great for people who want lots of veggies, but it's also nice for people who have specific vegetables they don't like. It can be hard to ask for no ingredients at a store that may have pre-made items. Subway is great because you know they're making it fresh each time! I always go for no tomatoes, even though it doesn't look as appealing (laughs). I usually leave the bread and dressing up to them, so I went with honey oat (toasted) with mayonnaise this time. The amount of vegetables has decreased a lot lately... It used to be piled high, but now it's much less. Subway could be an indicator of the economy (laughs). I'm not particularly a fan of vegetables, so this amount is easier to eat, but the crunchiness is a charm that can't be achieved with pre-made items. This was my first time trying honey oat, and the surface was really sweet like honey, which is perfect for tamago! I thought a lot of people ordered it, and it's popular for a reason (๑>◡<๑). The amount of tamago salad seems to have decreased too, but it's understandable that prices have gone up given the current situation. The regular size doesn't fill me up, but it's a comforting taste that I occasionally crave. With convenience store bread prices also rising, if it's only a few hundred yen more, I'd choose Subway every time. The freedom to choose the side is also a great point. I often want something on the side, but I don't need a drink since I get full on water. I'm not a big fan of sweet potatoes, but they are often moist, so on those days, they taste good, so I usually go for the potato set. The Red BBQ flavor has more sweetness than spiciness, and it dominates until the end. It tastes like barbecue-flavored snacks, a bit chemical, but strangely addictive. The hot dogs have a health-conscious vibe, but the potato snacks all have a junk food taste, which is contradictory, but I like the contrast and the feeling of taking a break. Conversely, if it were a hardcore health-oriented store, I wouldn't go there (laughs). Occasionally, I also get a drink, and I like the variety they offer. I like that they have not only hot tea but also hot herbal tea. In the summer, I'm drawn to the six different floats they have. Among the bread-based chains, I also like Mos Burger and Dom Dom Burger.
