While driving late at night in northern Osaka, I happened to find this restaurant when I felt a bit hungry. The udon was delicious, but it was a bit uncomfortable because the regular customers and the staff were talking loudly. The taste was not bad, but the price of 700 yen for katsu udon is quite high. It was tasty, but the atmosphere and price were a bit off-putting. If you think that taste is all that matters, then it's worth a visit.

On the day of my visit, it was a 4-day weekend and the place was quite busy. The water was not flowing smoothly, causing a bit of a rush with the dishes. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. The oden had thick and hard daikon that was difficult to break with chopsticks, and the flavor was weak despite having good color. The udon had noodles with a good chew for standing eating, and the broth had a nice balance of sweetness and umami, making it very delicious. However, the cleanliness of the counter was lacking, with personal items and cigarettes, and the restroom was messy with belongings left around.

Today, in the evening, it started raining and got a little chilly, so I decided on "udon" for dinner! I went to Kasumaru in Ikeda City, Osaka Prefecture! It's about a 5-minute walk from Hankyu Ikeda Station! I ordered the "Tsukimi Kasu Udon"! It came with a raw egg, green onions, and the star of the dish - "kasu" (fried offal) floating on top! The crispy kasu soaked in the broth is irresistible! The broth also has a delicious flavor! The udon noodles are chewy frozen noodles, which feel comforting as they slide down your throat! It was delicious and satisfying as always! Full and satisfied!

For someone like me who often eats dinner in the middle of the night, katsu udon is a hero! Katsu maru! And the portion size is amazing! It's definitely tastier than any other katsu udon out there! I also got two katsuobushi onigiri! I topped my curry katsu udon with seaweed and umeboshi for an extra kick! Double the katsu! Thank you very much! ꒰ෆ❛ั ु▿❛ั ु꒱

Second visit. Today I had Kitsune Katsu Udon for 700 yen. The broth is delicious as always. I finished every last drop of the broth today too.

The dashi is delicious. I had katsu udon, and the fried crumbs are crispy and tasty. The restaurant is only open at night.

It's open until late at night, and I sometimes go there to eat! It seems like the operating hours have changed recently. I will go again.

When you go to Osaka, be sure to try it! Order the topping of kelp, and eat it with onigiri as a set, it's the best!

I was tired so I went to bed early and ended up oversleeping until my usual work hours, even though it was my day off. Since I hadn't eaten anything before going to sleep, I decided to head out for a late-night meal. I went to Kadoya-san, which seemed to close at 1 am, and the place was starting to get a bit busy as it was a weekday. I ordered the Kasumaru Udon without any additional toppings. It arrived in just 5 minutes, very fast! I immediately tried the broth - delicious! The noodles were on the softer side, with just a hint of wheat flavor. There were plenty of tempura crumbs in the dish, and the shrimp was on the smaller side, probably due to the recent price increase. The fatty slices of meat were surprisingly tasty, and the egg portion was modest. I felt like the menu with the restaurant's name could be a bit more luxurious. I added some shichimi spice and enjoyed the meal, but the noodles disappeared quickly. I should have ordered a larger portion. I savored the tempura crumbs and the flavor of the broth before considering ordering more, but decided to stop there this time. Overall, it was a satisfying late-night meal at Kasumaru Udon. Total cost for today's late-night meal: 900 yen for the udon and 100 yen for parking.

Sometimes I have a strong craving for Kasu Udon. This restaurant is open until late, making it very convenient for after work. I always sit at the counter, where the staff and customers always seem to be chatting and getting along well. It seems like there are many regular customers. The udon here is simple and affordable, making it easy to eat. The portion size is small, so I usually order the large size with a rice ball set. There is no parking lot, but at night, you can use the paid parking lot next door at a reasonable price, which is convenient.

Today I had a drinking party and took the last train home. It was past 1 am and I was quite drunk. When I get drunk, I always crave for some warm noodles. So, I was irresistibly drawn into Kasumaru, which is on the way to my home from the station. There were about 10 customers, 5 groups in total. I ordered the Kasu Udon (600 yen) and waited for about 3 minutes. And there it was - the Kasu Udon! Its simple form was just so appealing! Let's start with the soup... The gentle Kansai-style broth and the richness of the fried tempura bits were irresistible! Now, the noodles... They were slightly firm, just the way I like them. I added some shichimi spice for a little extra kick. It's always the best after a night of drinking! It was a delightful meal in this warm atmosphere. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Kasu udon's "kasu" refers to "fried offal bits." It is finely chopped offal that is deep-fried in oil. The slightly translucent, soft and crispy bits of fried offal float in the udon, adding flavor to the broth. Although the restaurant is not close to my home, I often come to eat in the Ikeda area where I have many friends. The broth becomes really delicious thanks to the flavor that comes from the fried offal. It's so good that I end up getting a second helping without realizing it! They also have oden on the menu, which I haven't tried yet but would like to someday! Thank you for the meal.

A small shop located about a 5-minute walk from Ikeda Station. It stays open until early morning and is often crowded, with people lining up even late at night. While tempura udon shops have been increasing recently, the kusudon here is still the best. Their specialty dishes include tempura kusudon and meat kusudon, and you can also add toppings like kimchi or pickled plums. The broth is slightly sweet and the udon noodles have a good chewy texture. The kusudon is juicy, not greasy, and adds a nice flavor to the udon. In addition to udon, they also offer a variety of side dishes, making it a popular spot for those who enjoy drinking alcohol. The deep-fried squid legs are crispy and flavorful, making them a perfect pairing with beer. Other popular items include oden, changja (Korean-style pancake), and grilled pork. While ramen is a good option for ending a drinking session, people from Kansai prefer udon to wrap up their meal. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Located on the north side after passing Ikeda Station on Route 176, heading towards Kawashinishi, it is on the right side. There is a coin parking nearby, so you can park there. It's about a 10-minute walk from Ikeda Station. The taste is a combination of udon broth with fried beef intestines, giving it a rich flavor. The crispy texture on the outside and the chewy texture inside add satisfaction to the light udon. It's similar to tempura crumbs, but with more depth of flavor. After drinking, you may crave ramen because alcohol lowers blood sugar levels, but you won't feel like eating udon. However, this restaurant also offers oden, so it's a good idea to go for katsu udon after drinking. Katsu udon is priced at 600 yen, kitsune katsu udon at 650 yen, kimchi katsu udon at 700 yen, curry katsu udon at 750 yen, and other varieties for a total of 10 types. I recommend the katsu udon. Daikon (radish), atsuage (deep-fried tofu), egg, chikuwa (tube-shaped fish paste), hiraten (flat tempura), goboten (burdock tempura), konnyaku (yam cake), jagaimo (potato), each for 100 yen, and suji (beef tendons) for 150 yen. A set of 5 items is priced at 450 yen.

Today, I wandered into a bar in Ikeda and drank until I was really tipsy. Afterwards, I went to Kasumaru-san's place where the dashi broth soaked into my drunk body. The frozen udon with concentrated broth was delicious. Even though it's not ramen, they serve udon and soba late at night with a variety of toppings. They also have oden and doteyaki for those who are still hungry, and they offer extra noodles for big eaters. I always ask for no scum, but for some reason, it always ends up in my bowl (laughs). It's really a lifesaver after drinking. Thank you for the meal!

When you feel like eating something late at night, "udon" is a tempting option. And when it comes to "katsu udon," it becomes a soul food for people from Osaka. This restaurant serves "katsu udon" even late at night. The interior of the restaurant has a traditional udon shop feel, and the "katsu udon" here is delicious. Especially, the wakame katsu udon with lemon for a refreshing taste is fantastic. It feels like the refreshing type is even better than the rich type. Overall, being able to enjoy "katsu udon" in this area at night deserves a rating of 3.2! I will definitely visit again.
