Before moving, I visited the long-established dining bar Sugiya. I had a memory of delicious pasta, so when I heard they had relocated to Daimyo during the pandemic, I decided to visit right away. Upon arriving at the 5th floor of the building, I couldn't help but feel a sense of déjà vu. Wasn't this place... a bar called Seven Seas three years ago? The back bar and interior gave me a familiar feeling, almost like I had made a mistake. However, it was clearly labeled as Sugiya. I opted for the weekly quiche selection for the appetizer platter, which included shrimp and beans this week. The shrimp had a strong aroma and was delicious. The smoked quail in the appetizer platter was also incredibly tasty, with a fragrant aroma and a creamy yolk. I enjoyed the duck roast and Margherita pizza before the last order. I managed to squeeze in an ice cream order, which included a delicious sorbet. There were about three red and white wines available, as well as a variety of cocktails, making it a great spot for a second date location. There were candles on the tables, creating a lovely ambiance. I paired the duck with a California wine, which was excellent. The only unexpected aspect was that smoking was allowed inside, and there was someone smoking right in the middle of the counter. I didn't expect this, but the pizza was also delicious. Overall, I think the pasta is the way to go when visiting this place. Despite the ongoing shortened business hours, enjoying drinks outside is truly special. Thank you for the meal!
