"Sangetsuya" needs no introduction as it is a shop famous for its croissants. With nearly 10 stores in Fukuoka Prefecture, their croissants are even served at the JAL Premium Lounge in Fukuoka Airport. The main store is located in Wakamatsu, Kitakyushu, and was established in 2005, quickly gaining popularity. I first tried their croissants about 15 years ago, and although they were a bit pricier than regular croissants, they were still affordable compared to other sweets. People would buy 10 or 20 at a time, and I remember being amazed by the demand. The croissants were indeed delicious, with a light texture that made them easy to eat. The shop has since expanded its menu to include various other items, not just croissants. Recently, I came across their "Sangetsuya Higashihie Store" while browsing through food blogs. I was intrigued by their croissants, sandwiches, and even takeaway curry. Curious, I decided to visit the store, which was conveniently located with a decent parking lot. I ordered the Azuki Cream Croissant for 380 yen and the Egg Salad Croissant for 480 yen. The Azuki Cream Croissant was unexpectedly large, with a filling that added to its volume. The staff offered to cut it into smaller pieces, but I declined as I needed to take photos. The combination of the crispy croissant, smooth red bean paste, and creamy cream created a unique and enjoyable taste experience. It was a bit confusing at first, but ultimately delicious. The Egg Salad Croissant was also good, although I felt the flavor could have been stronger. Nevertheless, it was a decent option. Overall, I was impressed by the unique combinations offered by Sangetsuya, which may not be found in traditional French bakeries.

I visited this place for the first time about 5 years ago, but I didn't try the sandwiches back then. This time, I tried various croissants and sandwiches, including shrimp and red bean cream. However, the prices have gone up quite a bit over the past 5 years. The croissants were crispy and delicious. The sandwiches were well-packaged in a box with a cold pack at the bottom. They really pay attention to detail. I didn't get to try the sandwiches myself as I gave them to someone else.

This time, my son recommended the souvenir from the croissant specialty shop called Mikazukiya, and he bought 10 souvenirs for me. I didn't realize that the number of stores has increased. You can buy them anywhere from Fukuoka Airport to Hakata Station Kokura Store. However, they are only available in Fukuoka. ⭐️ Plain x2 - chewy texture ⭐️ Maple x2 - my favorite croissant with a crispy maple flavor ⭐️ Matcha ⭐️ Cocoa - I didn't know that there was white chocolate inside ⭐️ Kinako ⭐️ Azuki x2 - wrapped in Hokkaido azuki beans ⭐️ Black tea - the deep flavor of black tea kneaded into the dough. It is recommended to heat it in a toaster for 1 minute and let it sit for about 3 minutes. When you take it out, you can smell the faint aroma of tea even before you eat it. The maple flavor is also good, but I also like black tea. They come in a splendid gift box with a paper bag and individual bags. The azuki ones are for my grandparents, who love azuki beans. Oh? I forgot to buy the sesame ones, even though my son likes them. Don't forget to try the recommended maple, black tea, sesame, and the limited edition apple flavor. Thank you for the Fukuoka souvenir.

Conveniently located crescent-shaped store with easy access, where you can pull up your car right in front of the shop. It's within a 10-minute radius from Hakata Station. They also offer takeout for sandwiches and curry. Check out my blog for more information about this store.

I bought some souvenirs at the Higashi Hie store of Mikazuki and got croissants, ham and cheese sandwich, and menchi katsu sandwich. The most popular item is the egg sandwich. The salmon avocado cream cheese also looks delicious. The paper bag for takeout is really nice and to my liking. They also have curry menu items. I'm curious about the keema curry. They even have zenzai! I'll definitely visit again soon. ♡

"Salmon & Avocado & Cream Cheese" for 550 yen (tax included) and "Iced Cafe au lait" for 400 yen. There is a bakery called "Mikazuki" at Fukuoka Airport and Hakata Station, where I often buy souvenirs when traveling for work or leisure (of course, I also buy for myself, haha). They specialize in croissants made with natural yeast. Their sandwiches include egg, bacon, chicken, and potato salad, as well as red bean & cream dessert. Although not croissants, they also offer items like tonkatsu sandwich and menchi katsu sandwich. After some deliberation, I chose the "Salmon & Avocado & Cream Cheese" sandwich, which looked incredibly delicious in the photo (apparently, the most popular item is the egg sandwich). They kindly offered to cut it into two or three pieces, so I chose three pieces for easier eating. The crispy croissant with a buttery aroma was irresistible. The generous portions of avocado, salmon, fresh lettuce, and purple onions were perfectly balanced with the flavorful cream cheese. I was tempted to try the egg sandwich as well, but I was already full. I bought croissants too, my favorite kinako and the summer limited edition matcha flavors. I immediately purchased the matcha croissant upon learning it contained white chocolate. It was definitely delicious! I look forward to trying the egg sandwich next time. Overall, the croissant sandwich was tasty, and I'm curious about the tonkatsu sandwich too. I will definitely visit again soon. It was a delightful meal. Thank you!"

I often find that my favorite croissants are sold out, but this place offers a variety of flavors. The instructions via LINE are to buy 5 of the following: plain, cheese, kinako (roasted soybean flour), sesame, and cinnamon. They don't like chocolate or red bean flavors. This is definitely a purchase requested by my partner. They are undoubtedly delicious, but as someone concerned about visceral fat, I might just look and not eat (´∀`)

A croissant specialty store with its headquarters in Kitakyushu City has been in business for about 15 years. Over time, the number of stores has increased, and now there are about 8 stores in Kitakyushu City and Fukuoka City. This well-known store is popular for souvenirs. When I used to work there, I would often buy souvenirs for customers, even going to the terminal building at Fukuoka Airport. I stumbled upon this store on my way to lunch in Higashi-Hie, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City. I wonder when this store opened. I go for lunch alone every day and decided to buy a little souvenir on my way back. There are 13 types of croissants displayed in the store, and I can usually tell which ones I would like. Some of my favorites are: - Yomogi Croissant = 246 yen - Kinako Croissant = 246 yen - Goma Croissant = 235 yen All three croissants are about 17 cm long, with a crispy outer layer and a moist, rich buttery flavor inside. Various ingredients are kneaded into the dough, allowing you to choose your favorite. The slightly higher price is due to the recent trend of expensive bread that uses a lot of butter. The high-quality packaging gives it a luxurious feel for enjoying at home. The croissants do not crumble easily, and the filling is packed, making it a satisfying treat. I couldn't finish them all in one go, so I enjoyed them in two sittings. It seems like I really enjoyed them.

I wanted to eat a hamburger, but due to the typhoon, there was a long line. So I decided to go to Mikazuki-san instead. There were a few customers here and there. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant and a plain croissant. They were both delicious with fresh vegetables. They also offer takeout curry, which I'm interested in trying next time. There is parking space for about three cars right in front of the shop.

Recently, I've been going to Mikazuki Bakery. It's a famous bakery in Fukuoka known for their croissants. I go to the Higashi-Hie branch, where they offer a variety of options like rusk, croissants, croissant sandwiches, and curry. No matter what mood I'm in, I always enjoy my visit there. Everything I've tried has been delicious, so I can't pick a favorite. Although Mikazuki is known for their croissants, I was surprised at how tasty their curry dishes are. The Keema curry and Menchi Katsu curry are both amazing! I want to try everything on the menu, so I'll keep going back to this favorite spot of mine!

This time, I visited Sankazuya Higashi-Hie store located at 2-8-23 Higashi-Hie, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City. It is a unique store with a traditional Japanese confectionery shop-like atmosphere. Upon entering the store, I found a variety of croissants individually wrapped with different flavors. I decided to try the classic egg salad croissant. It came in a nice paper bag and box. The croissant had a hint of sweetness and was delicious. It could make a great and unique souvenir as well. Overall, it was a delightful experience.

Today, I visited "Mikazukiya Higashihie Store". I didn't have much time, so I decided to buy a sandwich from "Mikazuki" that I had found before and have it for lunch on the Shinkansen. I ordered the Tartar Sauce Cutlet Sandwich (900 yen). It took a while for it to be prepared after ordering. The sandwich had a generous amount of tartar sauce which brought out the flavor of the cutlet. The bread was toasted, giving it a nice crunchy texture. It was nice to have tomatoes and lettuce in the sandwich for some freshness. I enjoyed chewing it slowly and it was delicious. Thank you for the meal. The journey there was worth it, no regrets.

While driving towards Higashikie area, I noticed a sign for "Mikazuki Pan" and decided to make a U-turn to check it out. The place used to be a convenience store in the past. Inside, I found a variety of Mikazuki Pan and sandwich options. I ordered an egg sandwich and a tonkatsu sandwich, which took about 10 minutes to prepare. Finally, I got my order and headed home to enjoy it. The egg sandwich was fluffy and delicious, perfectly complemented by the Mikazuki Pan. The tonkatsu sandwich was also amazing, with juicy pork cutlet and rich sauce. I finished them in no time and found the menu to be full of other tempting options. I will definitely be coming back for more. If you're craving bread, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!

I stopped by on my way home by car. This was also food for power outage preparedness due to the direct hit of the typhoon. If nothing happens, it will be used for breakfast the next morning. What surprised me was that the croissant still had a crispy texture the next morning, even though it had been kept in the refrigerator until then. Honestly, I think this is due to how we stored it, so I was glad. Maybe it's because it was wrapped in paper instead of plastic wrap or vinyl? I had it cold, but it didn't feel like it was purchased the day before. Thank you for the meal.

While on the go, I got a croissant sandwich to take out. I opted for a simple "egg salad" croissant sandwich (420 yen) (^_^) The croissant was slightly sweet, with a slightly crispy exterior and a fluffy interior, which paired well with the simple egg salad. There are various croissant sandwiches using croissants at different shops, but personally, I liked the contrast between the sweetness of the croissant and the egg salad in this shop's croissant sandwich (^_^) I would love to try it fresh out of the oven! However, they only offer takeout here, so the cafe location might be better for a more leisurely experience (^_^;) Thank you for the delicious meal ♡

I happened to come across a croissant shop in an unexpected place, so I decided to go in. I forgot to take a photo again. Later I found out that it's a famous shop, so I feel bad for not knowing. Inside the shop, there were only croissants, nothing else. This time, I bought plain and maple croissants and ate them right away in the car. The croissants had a crispy outer layer and a moist inside, and both the plain and maple flavors were very delicious. When I was paying, I noticed they also had croissant sandwiches, so I thought I would like to try one of those next time.

I brought home a spicy mayonnaise pork cutlet sandwich! It used to be cut like in the photo, but now it's cut into triangles. Not as Instagram-worthy, haha. I personally think it's easier to eat when it's cut in half lengthwise rather than into triangles. It's packed with veggies and overflowing with sauce!

I went to buy a croissant egg sandwich and a potato sandwich, and I also bought a limited edition chestnut pie. The chestnut pie had a slightly chewy texture compared to the croissant. It was filled with plenty of chestnut paste, so I was satisfied. The croissant sandwich was delicious as always.
