In early November, I had the opportunity to join a drinking party with the famous ramen enthusiast Maro-san (who eats about 1800 bowls of ramen a year). On the way to the party in Hakoizaki, we had some time to spare, so we decided to visit Ichiraku, a place we had never been before. The shop was open, with a sign that read "Ramen, Pork Feet, Oden, Rice" and a sign above with the word "Yakitori" as well. Inside, there was an L-shaped counter with three customers seated, and an elderly chef cooking yakitori alone in the kitchen. We sat at the counter and ordered ramen, as it was before the drinking party. The ramen came with chashu, wood ear mushrooms, bean sprouts, green onions, nori, and a half-cut boiled egg from the oden, sprinkled with sesame seeds. The soup was light in flavor but the seasoning was well done, making it enjoyable. The noodles were quite soft, but they mixed well with the soup and I personally liked it. It reminded me of a well-made instant ramen, which is a compliment. Overall, it was a satisfying ramen for 450 yen, finishing off with yakitori. It seemed unrelated to the Ichiraku Ramen chain in Fukuoka city and its surroundings. #Ichiraku #Higashi-ku, Fukuoka #Yakitori Izakaya #Ramen #Tonkotsu Ramen #Fukuoka Gourmet #Noodlestagram #Gaso #Ramen Lover Gaso-san #gaso #ramen #tonkotsu #fukuoka #gourmet
