I purchased a limited-time item at the Life store near my house that caught my interest. The topping powder to sprinkle on just before eating had a great texture and a spicy aroma that really reminded me of a New York cheesecake. The cheesecake itself was quite sweet and rich. I would love to visit the main store if I have the chance!

On the day of the Gion Festival, I stopped by this restaurant near my alma mater where my wife used to frequent. Luckily, there was a table available and I easily got in. The coffee was ordinary, but the New York cheesecake was incredibly delicious. Even though the cake set was a bit pricey, the cheesecake made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Papa John's, located just past the Doshisha University campus in Imadegawa, has delicious cheesecake. Today, they had a rare treat - lemon meringue pie that is only available in the summer! I didn't hesitate to order it. I also got a lemon-lime soda to cool off after walking and sweating. The lemon-lime soda was delicious! The lemon cream in the pie is quite tangy, but the meringue adds a nice sweetness when eaten together. Overall, it was a refreshing and tasty experience.

After visiting the temple, I stopped by a shop I had always wanted to go to. I ordered a fresh lemon lime soda, New York cheesecake, and cherry pie with whipped cream on top. It really revitalized me. I wanted to get it to go if I was leaving right away.

The seasonal strawberry Japanese cake has a thin mochi-like layer inside, creating a sensation of strawberries mingling in your mouth without feeling heavy. The milk chocolate cake also has a similar mouthfeel, but the chocolate makes it slightly heavier. The pistachio cake is sweet but has a strong pistachio flavor with a nice nutty texture, making it very delicious.

I used it for lunch. As soon as I entered the store, there were a lot of delicious-looking cakes lined up. Oh, it really stimulates my appetite! This time, I chose the daily quiche plate! After the meal, I also had cake and coffee. There are few seats, but I think you can relax!

A cheese cake shop in Kyoto that has been around for over 30 years. I used to eat there a lot during my student days, but recently I haven't had the chance to go at all. I stopped by the main store after a long time, right after opening on a weekday. There were a few customers here and there. I got some to go. Pumpkin Mont Blanc Cheesecake 680 yen and Earl Grey Royal Cheesecake 650 yen. There were many classic items that have been around for a long time lined up, and my excitement rose as soon as I saw them. The Earl Grey Royal is all about Earl Grey, my favorite. Earl Grey cheesecake with Earl Grey-flavored whipped cream on top. The tea flavor is strong and very delicious. The Pumpkin Mont Blanc is also rich in flavor. Smooth and easy to eat. It's been a while since I had it, but it's easy to eat and still delicious. I want to buy it again.

I visited when the infection was not as severe as it is now. The New York cheesecake here was probably the first one I ever tried. It was not as rich as I imagined, with a subtle cheese flavor. A very standard taste. The double espresso was surprisingly strong, with a level of intensity that impressed me. The neighboring tables were lively with chatter, which is understandable given the location near a university. The seating is not very spacious and there are often people not wearing masks, so depending on the situation, it may be better to opt for takeout. This place used to have many shops in Kyoto, such as in Shinkyogoku, Shinkamogawa, and Kitayama, and was a pioneer in the area. Why not visit again after a long time?

I have always wanted to try the cheesecake here. About two years ago, my father saw this place being featured on TV and told me about it. I tried the simple cheesecake and the matcha cheesecake. They were delicious!!

This is my favorite cheesecake shop located just north of Doshisha University in Kyoto. I bought four flavors: Chocolate New York, Marble, New York, and Strawberry. The New York cheesecake has a very smooth and moist texture, with the flavor of the cream spreading in your mouth. The Graham cracker on top is crispy and delicious. The Chocolate flavor is rich and smooth. The Strawberry is based on New York cheesecake, with a layer of strawberry sauce on top. The sweet and sourness of the strawberry goes well with it.

I decided to take a taxi to go to a rice restaurant because it was a bit far from the station, but during the autumn leaves season, I couldn't catch one at all!! My friend was waiting at a cafe, so I also joined them at PapaJon's. It's located right near Imadegawa Station on the subway and is also close to Doshisha University, so it seems to be popular among students. The restaurant has a homely American atmosphere, and they serve homemade cakes that look very delicious! The cheesecake seems to be popular, but I decided to give up on eating it before my meal (cry). I ordered a Vanilla Tea Latte for 620 yen, which was a milk tea with plenty of cream on top. It had a comforting sweetness that warmed up my cold body. My friend seemed to have enjoyed the cheesecake, and I really wanted to try it too. I found out that there are also stores in Kitayama, Rokkaku, and Shugakuin, so I will definitely go back for a rematch. Thank you for the meal, PapaJon's!

[December 2021 Visit] Dinner with friends! I arrived with plenty of time to spare for once, so I decided to go to a cafe nearby! I found a nice-looking cafe that was quite highly ranked when I searched for cafes. It's the Papa John's Imadegawa Honten main store, so I wonder if there are other branches as well? It's a shop with a cute uncle as a landmark! It's a cafe right next to Doshisha University in Imadegawa. The cheesecakes in the showcase all look delicious! They have various types of cheesecakes! It seems to be a cheesecake specialty store! The drink menu is also extensive! I'm curious about the shakes and parfaits, but I decided to go with the New York Cheesecake, which seems to be a classic here, along with coffee! The cheesecake was so delicious!! The interior of the store is also very cute! Enjoying cheesecake in a warm store during the cold season! It was the best! It seems like there are several branches in Kyoto as well! I definitely want to visit again!

Here is another visit to the workplace. During the busy year-end and year-beginning period, our supervisor gave us a nice treat and encouraged us to work a little harder. I regret eating a full lunch after receiving the surprise treat (laughs). However, I made sure to save room for a separate stomach for a snack at 3 o'clock. In this cherry blossom season, my supervisor brought several spring-like cakes for us to enjoy. We decided on the order of choosing by drawing lots, and surprisingly, I got to choose first! As expected, I chose the strawberry cheesecake with lots of fruits - strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and shine muscat grapes. As always, the cakes from Papa Johns were delicious and provided a moment of happiness. The cheesecake was not too sweet and refreshing, which helped me focus on work afterwards. There were also other options like a strawberry cheesecake with lots of strawberries, a cherry blossom soy milk cheesecake, and a royal earl grey milk tea cheesecake. It was a tough choice because they all looked so delicious. I was happy that there were so many options available when I visited in the evening after work. Everything was delicious. On Friday at 5:30 PM, I went to the main store of Papa John's in Imadegawa. I tried to go to Yaoiso, but it was closed at 5:00 PM, so I was disappointed. However, I happened to find the main store right next to it. I didn't know there was a main store in such a place. There was one group of customers ahead of me (3 people). I ordered the "New York Cheesecake (550 yen)" and the "Blended Coffee (490 yen)." I took a sip of the blended coffee and it was delicious. Coffee at cafes these days often tastes good, and this one was no exception - not too bitter or too strong, just a refreshing and tasty coffee. I didn't need any sugar or milk. I took a bite of the New York Cheesecake and it was delicious. It was a rich cheesecake with a firm texture and fine texture, with a slightly tart and refreshing flavor. I could probably eat about three of them easily. I had tried the New York Cheesecake before at a food event for takeout, but it was nice to have it again after a long time. Thank you for the meal.

Founded in 1990, this cheesecake specialty shop seems to be popular among women. Located near Doshisha University, I expected it to be crowded with students, but when I visited around 4 pm on a weekday, there were no other customers. I ordered the New York Cheesecake (¥550) and Earl Grey tea (¥500). The texture of the cheesecake was moist and dense, with a slightly crumbly texture. It was not too sweet, with a nice hint of acidity, creating a smooth yet refreshing flavor. The bottom was made with a biscuit crust, and there were crumbled biscuits on top, giving it a rustic charm. It was delicious! The atmosphere was unexpectedly calm, and I ended up staying longer than planned. The service was also polite and good.
