- Large Pork Bowl: 1060 yen
- Miso Soup: 120 yen
Even before entering the restaurant, there was a good smell! Despite being the regular size, there was quite a lot of meat. The smell of charcoal grilling and the sweet and salty sauce were delicious! Surprisingly, the miso soup here is also delicious, and the unique bowl it comes in is nice.

I went to Ippin in Hirao. It was crowded even though it was before 6 pm. I ordered a small cut with extra sauce. The sauce was too much... Next time, I think normal amount of sauce would be good. The meat was thick and had a subtle charcoal flavor, very delicious! I will come back again!

Sometimes I feel like eating pork bowl. Recently, there have been many foreign tourists visiting this restaurant, which is popular among Asian tourists. The photo shows the Special Pork Bowl for 1,390 yen and Pork Miso Soup for 280 yen. The miso soup comes with a boiled egg and is very delicious, so I end up ordering it every time, haha.

This time, at Ikken, located in Sapporo Hiraoka, I had the charcoal-grilled Tokachi pork bowl regular set (with miso soup and pickled plum or salad). The pork bowl with roasted pork loin is irresistible when mixed with the sauce. Sprinkling some sansho pepper on it halfway through also adds a nice touch. Thank you for the delicious meal.

A Hokkaido-based specialty store that operates several stores in Sapporo, specializing in Tokachi pork bowl. The meat is transported from Obihiro every day, making it a serious specialty store. The taste is really delicious, as expected from Sorachi, a famous sauce maker in Hokkaido! The thick slices of meat provide a satisfying eating experience! You don't need to go to Obihiro. There are not many pork bowl restaurants that can surpass this one (laughs)

I had some errands to run north of my home, so I searched and visited this place for the first time. The pork bowl with a little rice set costs 1,030 yen, and the chewy almond jelly costs 220 yen. The restaurant is tucked away and quite small. Even though it recently opened, it was almost full, so it seems to be popular. There were quite a few cars parked in the parking lot. It seems like many people prefer takeout, or maybe they are just very meticulous in their cooking, as the wait for the food was surprisingly long. Some customers couldn't wait and left without eating. You can choose between salad or pickled plums with the set meal, and I chose the salad. The salad had a generous amount of vegetables. The charcoal-grilled pork had a delicious aroma. The miso soup container caught my attention as it was different. The almond jelly was chewy, not too watery, and not too soft. The restaurant is flexible in accommodating requests, such as adjusting the amount of meat and rice or the way the meat is cut. Overall, it was a delicious meal.

Three days ago, I took guests from Tokyo out for their last night and we decided to have pork bowl as our final meal. The smell of charcoal grilling and sauce outside the restaurant really got us excited. The taste was amazing, and my guests were very happy. It was their first time trying pork bowl and they even wanted to buy the sauce to make it at home. I'm glad I brought them here.

On the way from Sapporo to the northern part of Hokkaido, I was thinking about what to have for lunch. I felt like having a rice bowl today! I decided to visit Ippin Sapporo Hiraoka store, where I had tried the Tokachi pork bowl before. The smell of charcoal-grilled pork was amazing! The taste was consistently delicious, but I felt it was slightly tougher compared to when I had it in Obihiro.

Hello everyone! Today after work, I'm planning to dance at the gym♫ Then, I'll relax in the sauna^ ^ But first, I'll grab a quick bite at Nagoyakatei for some sushi^ ^∑(゚Д゚) I didn't hear about the renovation! Let's go to the neighboring "Tokachi Pork Bowl Ippin Sapporo Hiraoka Store" after that. It's quite busy around 7 pm on weekdays, with people like me who came for sushi flowing in. It may seem contradictory to eat this before going to the gym for health, but I'm well aware of that (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) I'll have the special pork bowl set with extra meat for 1430 yen, with less fat in the salad and extra sauce, please^ ^ At least the salad and less fat...*\(^o^)/* I waited quite a bit—what a wonderful presentation! There's plenty of meat, and the miso soup has mushrooms, and the salad looks fresh. Let's dig in♪ The meat is lean and meaty in the red part of the loin, with just the right amount of fat on the edges. This place is run by the sauce specialist Sorachi-san. The sweet and savory sauce of the pork bowl is just right, and it really goes well with the rice. The taste is consistent, so you can be satisfied no matter which chain store you eat at. By the way, when it comes to the sauce of the local hero Genghis Khan, there's a rough division between the Bell faction and the Sorachi faction. I'm in the Sorachi faction♫ The salad with grated onion dressing is refreshing, and the miso soup with mushrooms has a strong dashi flavor and is delicious. The set meal is not cheap, so it leaves a good impression when the side dishes are well-prepared. My mistake was asking for extra sauce, as it would have been better to have it on the side for adjustment. I ran out of rice because of that—lesson learned for today^ ^ Thank you for the meal♪

After visiting several shops on my day off, I usually think about what to have for dinner. But today, as I passed by a place near Ippinsan where they were grilling pork and the delicious smell hit me, I couldn't resist the urge to have pork bowl for dinner at Ippinsan. Normally, I would go to the Ippinsan near my place, but this time I wanted to try a different branch in Hirao, so I parked my car and went inside. The place was quite busy, so I ordered a large serving because I wanted to eat a lot of rice, and requested extra sauce as I wanted to enjoy the rice soaked in the sauce. After a while, the pork bowl arrived. The pork was tender with a hint of sweetness from the fat, and the sauce was grilled onto the meat perfectly, giving it a delicious flavor. However, compared to the one I had at the North 10th Street branch which I found very tasty, this one was slightly lacking in juiciness. Also, even though I asked for extra sauce, it was a bit insufficient, which was disappointing as I was looking forward to enjoying the rice soaked in the sauce. Ippinsan always delivers consistent deliciousness, but it's interesting to see slight variations between branches. I would love to come back again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal!

I have only ever used the North 10th Street shop, so I decided to challenge other shops for a change. It seems like all the shops are crowded, right? I ordered the pork bowl (regular size, extra sauce, small cut + miso soup for adding LINE friends). I asked for the pork to be cut into small pieces this time because it was difficult to eat when it was big last time! It was so much easier to eat! I am so grateful for this service! I asked for extra sauce, but it didn't feel like there was much extra, I wish there was a bit more. The rice was cooked a bit firm, which was nice! Also, I wished the meat had a bit more charcoal flavor...? But it was a bit tough too... Also, the miso soup bowl has a handle on it...! It's nice because your hands don't get hot while drinking! It had okra, deep-fried tofu, and lotus root in it, so it was full of ingredients. I realized once again that the local shop is delicious. It was good to be able to eat a hearty meal of meat after a long time! Thank you, wu-ta-san!!! (((orz

Beef bowl is famous, but I hope that Obihiro-style pork bowl will become more popular. Lately, I have been thinking about this. The thickness of the pork is evident even in the photo! The pork slices are incredibly thick. When combined with the sauce, you can truly savor the deliciousness of the pork. The pork bowl from Obihiro has an irresistible pork flavor! Thank you for the meal. I plan to visit again when I want to indulge in pork.

[Tokachi Pork Donburi Ippin] in Kiyota-ku, Sapporo City. The pork used is locally sourced Tokachi pork, carefully selected domestic pork loin, providing a good balance of fat and vitamin B1 for fatigue recovery. The pork donburi at this restaurant is cooked over charcoal, resulting in a dish that is easy to eat without excess fat, and the sauce is particularly delicious. Special Tokachi Pork Donburi priced at 1280 yen including tax. Address: 5-20 Kitano 5-jo, Kiyota-ku, Sapporo City, Hokkaido. Budget: around 1000 yen. On the final day back in Tokyo, I went to my favorite pork bowl restaurant, Ippin, for lunch. I visited at 1:00 PM and while the restaurant was busy, there were still seats available. At Ippin, you can customize the amount of rice and meat in your bowl. This time, I ordered the special serving (extra meat, regular rice) set which came with a side dish and miso soup. The thick pork slices grilled over charcoal with delicious sauce paired perfectly with the rice! The pork bowl here is definitely the best!

For lunch on April 14th. I realized that I hadn't eaten pork bowl in the two weeks since coming to Sapporo, so I decided to try it. I ordered the "Tokumori Butadon Set" for 1430 yen. The set comes with miso soup and salad. The "Tokumori" size is the regular size rice with 1.5 times the amount of pork. There were about 6 slices of flavorful meat to enjoy. When I visited a store in Higashi-ku over 10 years ago, I remember there being more of a charcoal smell in the store, but I wonder if they are ventilating well due to COVID-19. It's a bit pricey, but it's nice to have a casual place to come to.

Today, I went to Hiraoka. I was drawn in by the sign for a large pork bowl at City Cruise and decided to eat there. It's a chain restaurant originating from Obihiro that serves authentic pork bowls, so you can enjoy them without having to go all the way to the original place in Tokachi. Although there have been times when the grilling wasn't done well, lately I haven't had any disappointments. I arrived during the weekday dinner time, and there was some space in the parking lot in front of the restaurant, so I could easily park. I sanitized my hands and had my temperature checked using a mirror-type sensor that was very sensitive and quick. I was seated at a counter with protective acrylic panels. I thought of getting a regular-sized pork bowl, but they had a pork bowl set available. You could choose between salad or pickled plums, and it came with miso soup and pickles. For an additional 130 yen, you could switch the miso soup to pork soup. I decided to go with a smaller portion of rice. So, I ordered the pork bowl set with a smaller portion of rice. The total was 1030 yen including tax. The restaurant started to get busier as more customers came in and out. During the busy hours, the kitchen was bustling with the sound of grilling, and my food arrived in just 5 minutes. The pork bowl was served with a lid on top, and when I removed it, I saw the beautifully grilled pork that had been cooked over charcoal. It looked delicious. I tried to calm down and started with the salad. It was a generous serving of crunchy cabbage with a light and refreshing dressing that had a hint of corn flavor. The miso soup had Wakame seaweed and crunchy bamboo shoots, which was a pleasant surprise. The salad was available as a standalone item on the menu, and I enjoyed every bite of it. Now, onto the meat. The pork slices were thick enough to provide a satisfying chewiness. They were tender with a slight bounce to them. The pork shoulder slices were cooked over charcoal and had a light and refreshing taste from the sweet and salty sauce they were marinated in. The meat had a nice balance of the smoky flavor from the charcoal and the sweetness from the fat. It was delicious. However, I wished it had a bit more punch. I tried the shichimi pepper and the tableside sansho pepper, and the combination of charcoal-grilled pork and sansho pepper was excellent. Sansho pepper was the winner for me. I finished the meal with satisfaction. The number one topping choice is mountain wasabi, and I can see why. This time, I enjoyed the default pork bowl, and I look forward to trying the mountain wasabi topping next time. Thank you for the meal.

I wanted to eat pork bowl so I was considering going to Obihiro, but I decided to settle for Sapporo instead. I realized I had never been to Ippin before so I decided to visit. The sauce was unexpectedly sweet, which is perfect for me as I like sweeter sauces. When you want to eat pork bowl but don't feel like going all the way to Obihiro, I recommend visiting this restaurant.

I felt like having pork bowl, so I decided to visit this restaurant. You can customize the amount of meat, rice, and how the meat is cooked, making it beginner-friendly for pork bowl. I ordered the large pork bowl, and the charcoal-grilled pork was delicious and fragrant. This chain restaurant is quite unique, isn't it? Thank you for the meal!

Half Pork Bowl for 630 yen in August 2020 at Hiraoka's Ippin-san. I recently had it at a different store and it was delicious! This time, I went to a closer place from my house after work around 9 pm. Eating at this hour makes me feel like a pig, but surprisingly, the pork bowl is not too unhealthy as the extra fat drips off while cooking. The meat here is loin, so I ordered a half pork bowl with less rice and half the amount of meat. The smell of the meat cooking was amazing. The rice portion was light, around 150g. The meat was cut into three pieces from one loin and the sauce was just right. I got a complimentary miso soup by registering on LINE. The ingredients in the soup were okra, fried food, and lotus root pickles for a refreshing taste. The taste of the meat sauce seemed lighter compared to when I had it in Higashi-ku, but it was still delicious. Thank you for the meal.
