As close to home as possible! (laughs) The opening days seem to be limited, but the sense and quality are excellent. The selection is not extensive, but everything is luxurious and pleasing to the eye. This time, I had mint chocolate, a simple yet classic choice. I had tea from "Amber." The fact that the plate was brought out properly chilled was a plus. Temperature control is crucial for determining the texture. And of course, the crisp, satisfying feeling when cutting the cake was reassuring. The taste was safe and optimal. However, the drink and seating area didn't offer much in terms of points, just enough to sit and drink.

Located on the first floor of a stylish building in Kyoto's Kamigyo Ward, along Imadegawa Street down to Shimmachi Street, until the intersection with Moto Seiganji Street. The exterior blends in with the surroundings, while the interior exudes a simple yet open atmosphere. The showcase mainly displays cakes, with baked goods neatly arranged on shelves along the wall. There is a small café space as well, offering a limited selection of drinks. The highlight is the Forest Scent Opera, a nine-layered matcha cake with a strong matcha aroma. The matcha sponge and buttercream complement each other, providing a refreshing yet rich taste. The balance of ingredients creates a gentle flavor, with hints of matcha bitterness and grapefruit aroma. Despite its clean appearance, the innovative combination offers a smooth texture and a cohesive overall taste. The blended coffee has a soft, lingering aftertaste, with a well-rounded and mellow bitterness. The owners, a French-trained pastry chef couple, showcase their refined cakes, demonstrating a high level of craftsmanship. The elegant yet approachable atmosphere appeals to local customers, making it a popular spot in the area.

Abesse (chocolate cake), strawberry tart, pistachio tart, and various other baked sweets are available. The wagashi (Japanese traditional sweets) are moist and delicious. In particular, the cookies are very tasty. They also offer unique flavors like lemon pepper and chai.

I love the cream puffs here, even though it's a place I can't visit often. I visited after a long time. Previously, they used to offer eat-in options, but it seems like it was temporarily suspended. They had a drink menu, but I wonder if it has been resumed now. This time, I bought cream puffs, chocolate cake, and fruit cake. The cream puffs are perfect for those who like a crunchy texture, with nuts in the pastry adding to the enjoyment. The cream is not too sweet, so you can easily have 2-3 pieces. I really love the cream puffs here! I want to keep coming back just for the cream puffs!

I tried the refreshing iced Rooibos Earl Grey tea with the scent of a vibrant forest. The Matcha Opera cake I had was a perfect balance of bitterness and sweetness, with a refreshing touch of grapefruit. The sunny seating area was pleasant, and I look forward to trying their tart next time.

On the way from Seimei Shrine to the Imperial Palace, I felt like having something sweet and luckily stumbled upon this place, which turned out to be a hit! They offer Kyoto-style sweets and drinks made with great care. It's easy to see why they have such high ratings. I tried the roasted hojicha and chestnut tart. When I ordered, they took the time to explain the flavor of the roasted hojicha.

On Saturday afternoon, luckily there was an available seat. Since it's autumn, I chose Mont Blanc. Inside, there was a vanilla-scented cream and a sweet meringue layer, topped with a single chestnut. The coffee was also delicious. It's very convenient to be able to eat in at this cafe, as it's far to take it home.

I received this cake as a souvenir. It looks simple and beautiful. The Aves cake is a two-layer chocolate cake. The smooth ganache, rich hazelnut praline, and crunchy nuts are irresistible. Although the size is small, it is delicious and satisfying! The grape tart with Shine Muscat and Kyoho grapes, custard, and crispy tart crust is perfectly balanced and delicious! They may be small in size, but they are so delicious and satisfying. All of them were delicious with no unnecessary flavors. I would love to try different types of cakes and baked goods next time. Thank you for the meal.

I found a new nearby cake shop recently. The cakes are very elaborate, with a crispy bottom and rich top. They even inject the cream into the choux cream after you order, and the cream is thick and creamy unlike regular choux cream. It's a hidden gem worth discovering.

Cake shop on Imadegawa Street. It has been open for about 3 years. The design of the shop is clean and it is not easy to tell from the outside that it is a cake shop. The interior is spacious with three tables and six seats. Since it was not crowded, we decided to eat inside the shop. My companion chose the Foreclair, which is a chocolate cake with pistachio mousse, nuts, and cherry cream. It had a refreshing taste. I chose the Citrus Fromage, which had a subtle citrus and cheese flavor. Overall, it had a soft taste. We also added a cream puff. It was generously filled with vanilla, but surprisingly had a light cream taste. On the other hand, the puff had a strong almond flavor. All the cakes we tried were delicate and well-balanced. The coffee was also delicious. It was not just a good balance with the cakes, but tasty on its own. The quality was at the level of a specialty shop. It is located a little off the busy Imadegawa Street. It was a place where you could relax with Nordic-style furniture. I recommend eating in.

Patisserie Lamarc is located a 5-7 minute walk from Imadegawa Station. The clean and beautiful interior, along with the gorgeous cakes, make this place charming. There are only 6 seats for dining in, making it relatively easy to find a seat, especially during less busy times. I purchased the popular Abes and the blueberry tart. The crunchy blueberry tart with custard cream was a well-balanced treat, combining the sweet and sour flavors of the blueberries with the smooth sweetness of the cream. The Abes had a delightful nutty texture and rich chocolate flavor, along with a hint of cocoa aroma. This hidden gem offers high-quality sweets, so be sure to visit. Thank you for the meal!

I visited a popular patisserie near Kyoto Imperial Palace today. It's called LAMARCK and located near Imadegawa Shimmachi. The cakes were all sold out by the evening, so I bought some baked goods instead. I got the "Oiseau de Bonheur," which is a bird-shaped baked good coated with a sweet lemon-like sugar. It was elegantly sweet. I also tried the Chocolate Chip Cake, which had a unique aroma and a mature taste. Lastly, I had the Apricot Orange Cake, which had apricot pulp mixed in and a refreshing fruity flavor. The baked goods were delicious, and I look forward to trying their cakes next time!

This is a stylish cake shop a little off the main street of Imadegawa. The cakes have lovely names like Chloe, and I tried the pistachio tart and Earl Grey. They also pay attention to their tea selection, and I was happy that the milk in my milk tea was warm. The interior of the shop is also very nice, with a white color scheme.

Visited Kyoto again in December 2021☆ I always make sure to stop by this patisserie when I visit Kyoto. The nearest station is Imadegawa, and it has a simple exterior in the middle of the city. Takeout is also available. This time, I dined in.
- Savarin 660 yen
- Chloe 825 yen
I chose the above two cakes. I personally like Savarin, but I haven't seen it around much lately. When I do see it, I jump at the chance. The Savarin soaked in rum has a mature flavor. The mound of lightly whipped cream on top with just the right amount of sweetness hits the spot. It's delicious. I'm happy to have found a Savarin that I like. I will definitely come back for this. Chloe is a cake made with pistachios and raspberries. The crispy tartness of the pistachios, cream, and the acidity of the raspberries. The balance of sweetness and acidity is just right, making this one delicious too. The cakes from Lamarc are quite rich in sweetness, but not too heavy, leaving a good aftertaste, which I prefer. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but the satisfaction is solid, and the lingering feeling after finishing the cake is also nice. For the drink, I had Assam in a cup (605 yen). It was served generously. Thank you for the delicious meal once again. I will visit again☆

I finally visited the patisserie in Imadegawa that I've been curious about for a while. After ordering and paying, I chose my favorite seat. There are only three 2-seater tables in the cozy atmosphere of the shop. I ordered a ❤️ Chestnut Mont Blanc ¥660 (tax included) ❤️ Roasted green tea and chestnut tart ¥715 (tax included) ❤️ Earl Grey ¥605 (tax included) A simple Mont Blanc made with chestnuts from Ehime Prefecture. The chestnut paste is rich and the meringue is crispy! A tart with the aroma of roasted Kyoto green tea, chestnuts, and milk chocolate. The unique fragrance is impressive. The tart crust is also delicious. It was even more delicious than I expected, and I want to come back each season. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again.

I had been wanting to visit this bakery for a long time. Finally, I went because I found out they had a pistachio tart. It's about a 5-minute walk from Imadegawa Station on the subway. The shop is mainly white with a clean glass exterior. There were three 2-person tables for dining in. Thankfully, they offer cake reservations, which is great if you're coming from far away and might not be able to revisit easily. When I visited on a holiday around 3 pm, both cakes I wanted were already sold out. I recommend reserving if you have a specific cake in mind. There was only one seat left, but I was able to dine in right away. It didn't fill up until I left, so timing is key for dining in. The "Chloe" for 825 yen is the pistachio tart. The top and bottom pistachio layers look similar but are different. The bottom is pistachio ganache, while the top is a fluffy and smooth pistachio mousse. Both have a strong pistachio flavor and were delicious. The "Japanese chestnut Mont Blanc" for 660 yen has a simple shape. The chestnut cream was a bit heavy for me, but the cream inside was not too sweet and had an elegant flavor. There's a whole chestnut inside, and when eaten together, it enhances the deliciousness even more. I was satisfied with enjoying delicious cakes in a lovely space. Thank you for the meal.

This is a popular patisserie located at Karasuma Imadegawa. The Égise Aim (¥648) features a creamy white chocolate cream on top, reminiscent of mascarpone. The bottom is a tart with a strong violet scent. The strong aroma was a bit overwhelming, but the taste itself was undeniably delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I stopped by here on my way back after dining out for the first time in a while. It was a bit late, but they still had the cake I was looking for, and there were no other customers. I decided to eat in without hesitation. The two types of chocolate in the Aves cake were layered together and incredibly delicious. It's rich yet refreshing. The crunchy hazelnuts added a nice touch. According to my friend who knows a lot about sweets, they use chocolate from the only Cocoa Hunters in Kyoto. It's a reliable piece of information, so I thought I'd mention it. Chocolate always tastes the best in autumn, doesn't it? It paired perfectly with the pour-over coffee. This is my favorite patisserie, especially their baked goods.

I went to buy a cake that I had been interested in for a while. I purchased a chocolate one, and it turned out to be a high-quality cake that I had never tasted before. It was delicious! The rich chocolate flavor, the aroma of nuts, and the delicate texture were all meticulously crafted, making it a very high-quality and wonderful cake. I will definitely go back to buy other items as well.

In response to my daughter's request, we visited another shop, Lamarc. It is one of my daughter's top 3 favorite sweet shops in Kyoto, and she always asks us to go there. This time, we bought various baked goods (my husband's choice). My daughter's favorite financiers, citrus pound cake, caramel pound cake, and tea cookies with a thick layer of granulated sugar around the edges. They were all delicious, but my personal favorite was the caramel pound cake. It was moist, fragrant, and had a delightful caramel flavor that I could eat endlessly. We will definitely visit again. Thank you for the wonderful treats!
