Although the buffet area is not very spacious, there is a good selection of drinks available. The dessert options are also plentiful, ranging from almond jelly to mini cakes. I particularly enjoyed the refreshing cold noodles and the delicious fried chicken. The tonkatsu was a bit tough, but the fried chicken was excellent. The bread, especially the chocolate croissant, was also delicious. Other highlights included nikujaga (meat and potato stew), shumai, and shrimp dumplings. I also tried the curry and made a katsu curry by topping the curry with tonkatsu. Overall, for 1500 yen, the quality of the food was satisfying. Thank you for the meal!

Our accommodation for the first day of our Kyushu trip was the Yaezakura Hakata Hotel, conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Hakata Station. We chose this hotel because it had hot springs, and we were impressed by how well-maintained and clean it was despite its age. We were upgraded to a semi-suite room, which was a nice surprise. For breakfast, we had a buffet at a restaurant next to the hotel, which offered a variety of dishes including the famous Hakata mentaiko. It was delicious. It seems that the restaurant also serves a course dinner, so it might be more upscale than we expected.

I headed to the venue Holy Blue for breakfast. I started with some mentaiko in a small dish, then had two pieces of gyoza, some simmered vegetables, and even chawanmushi with octopus. While it wasn't exceptionally delicious, there were plenty of Fukuoka specialties, which was nice. After the meal, I had a banana, marking my first of the year in '23. Thank you for the meal.

They offered both Japanese-style (rice, miso soup, tamagoyaki, sausage, onsen tamago, natto, nori, mentaiko) and Western-style (bread, Danish pastries, salad bar, yogurt & cereal, pancakes, waffles, bacon, scrambled eggs) options, all of which were quite standard but satisfying. They also had dishes like chawanmushi, Hakata tsukune soup, Hakata ramen, and highly rated curry. The drink selection was extensive and I was very pleased. They even provided coffee in takeout containers for guests to bring back to their rooms.

I stayed in Hakata for 3 nights and 4 days on a business trip. The breakfast included local specialties such as mentaiko, motsunabe, and tonkotsu ramen, which were all delicious. I ended up eating too much because the curry was also very tasty. I would like to use this place again if I have another business trip.

It is about a 5-minute walk from Hakata Station and offers accommodation at a reasonable price with a natural hot spring and sauna called Yakushima no Yu. I stayed there for 3 nights and 4 days at the end of the year. I would like to introduce the restaurant HOLYBLUE where I had breakfast. The restaurant is open from 6:30 to 9:30. The regular price for breakfast is 1,200 yen for adults and 800 yen for children. It offers a buffet-style breakfast with a mix of Japanese and Western dishes. There is a variety of pastries such as sausages, bacon, fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, dumplings, ham mayo pie, pain au chocolat, and emmental cheese. They also have a toaster to warm up croissants, tomato Danish, bread, pancakes, and Belgian waffles. For Japanese food, they offer jellyfish vinegar, natto, rolled omelet, simmered vegetables, and grilled fish. They even have my favorite mentaiko! Next to the miso soup, there is tonkotsu soup, which surprised me with its unique selection of dishes typical of Hakata. However, due to the pandemic, prices have dropped and I was able to stay at one recently. Personally, I don't usually use the public baths in hotels, as it can be a hassle. The rooms are spacious, but the facilities are somewhat dated. One of the hotel's selling points is the breakfast, which offers a variety of dishes of good quality. The breakfast venue is a restaurant called "Holy Blue" on the second floor next to the front desk. This time, I had breakfast here after a long time, and the interior had been renovated. Normally, it is a buffet style, but due to the pandemic, the food is individually portioned and wrapped in containers. Unlike other hotels where the food can get cold, here it is kept warm in a warmer, which was nice. They also had mini dumplings. I didn't have rice or bread. I noticed that there were overlapping egg dishes. There was also salad, fruits, and yogurt. Although this hotel was known for its delicious beef curry for breakfast, I didn't have it this time because there was "Hakata Ramen" next door. You can make your own Hakata Ramen with thin noodles in a rich pork bone soup. The soup was rich and flavorful. Next to the Hakata Ramen, there was even motsunabe (tripe hot pot). It's rare to find ramen and motsunabe in a hotel buffet. There were other items I wanted to try, but I was satisfied with my meal. Morning Buffet at Yaoyachi Hakata Hotel in Hakata on February 13, 2020 (Thu) I stayed at Yaoyachi Hakata Hotel in Hakata, located near Hakata Station, where you can enjoy natural hot springs. Last night, I enjoyed the natural hot springs. This morning, the usual breakfast venue was under construction, so we had a morning buffet in a meeting room-like space. I stay at Hotel Okura Fukuoka, which is conveniently located next to the Hakataza theater. However, this time my trip to Fukuoka was for a different reason, so my friend found a nice hotel for us. It is a business hotel with easy access, just a 5-minute walk from JR Hakata Station (Hakata Exit). The hotel offers the luxury of natural hot springs in the middle of the city. The hotel has a sauna and a natural hot spring called Yaosachi-no-Yu on the first floor, which is free for guests staying at the hotel. The hotel has 13 floors, with the rooms located on the 11th floor. The room was renovated in April 2015 with a new card lock system using IC cards. The room we stayed in was a clean and spacious twin room, with cute chairs as accents. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the room was, as I didn't have high expectations. You can take the room's towels, nightwear, and slippers to the Yaosachi-no-Yu hot spring on the first floor. There are three Family Mart convenience stores near the hotel. When I asked the front desk for recommended restaurants, they suggested the station building as there are many izakayas nearby. The variety is not that great, but the price is reasonable so we made up for it with quantity (laughs). The noodle corner offers daily specials, and on this day they had cold udon. There is a toaster in the bread corner for toasting bread. There are 4 types of desserts, all of which are shown in the photo (laughs). Payment is made at the beginning, and I received a 100 yen voucher which I can use on my next visit for a 750 yen all-you-can-eat deal. The hotel also offers a breakfast buffet for 945 yen.
