I went to get takeout today! I had been hearing from my colleagues how delicious it was, so I had been wanting to go for a while, and I finally did! The nearest station is Abiko Michi Station, I believe! I went by car and parked at a nearby parking lot for my first visit! The restaurant is located in a shopping street with other stores lined up. It's easy to find with its orange sign that says "Tonkatsu Dojo." The interior of the restaurant is set up for takeout only, with just a few chairs for waiting. This time, I ordered the most popular Sauce Katsu Bento and Tori Don! Since I'm a bit on the heavier side, I ordered two, but my colleague was a bit surprised, haha. The orders were ready in about 5 minutes, and I took them back to my car to eat! First, I tried the most popular Sauce Katsu Bento. It was delicious! The original sauce from Tonkatsu Dojo was well-coated on the katsu, and the rice underneath had a nice touch of the sauce as well! The tonkatsu wasn't too thick, but the flavor was strong and clear, which I think is just right! Personally, I prefer thicker cuts, haha. There's also shredded cabbage as a side dish! If I had to point out something, it would be great if they laid the cabbage between the rice and tonkatsu to give it a bit of crunch, haha. According to my colleague, they used to do that in the past. After finishing the Sauce Katsu Bento, I moved on to the Tori Don! I chose it based on the name alone, thinking it would be like a chicken tempura bowl, but it also had chicken katsu, chicken breast katsu, and even a fried egg on top, which was great! The Tori Don had sauce drizzled over the rice, making it easy to eat and incredibly delicious! The sauce was probably soy sauce-based, but I'm not sure, all I know is that it was tasty! The Sauce Katsu Bento was only 600 yen, which is great value for money. For those living alone, it could be a perfect dinner option, and they also had side dish-only menu items, so it could be a great addition to a dinner meal! Be sure to check it out!
