②【2014.08 Revisit Lunch】It's been a while since I last had lunch here. After the 8% tax increase, the price had gone up to 1500 yen. However, whether it was because we were having a late lunch or because this place is a hidden gem, there were only a few customers. If you want to enjoy a leisurely hotel lunch, this place is recommended.
●Contents●
- Rice
- Miso soup
- Bread
- Salad bar with a variety of options
- Wiener sausages
- Kinpira (braised burdock root)
- Tofu nuggets
- Shrimp fry
- Fried chicken
- Orange juice
- Coffee
- Petit cakes, gateau chocolat, pound cake, pudding, 3 types of ice cream
- Roast beef, etc.
You can add more dishes until the last minute of lunch, but the dessert selection gradually decreases, and it's a bit uncertain if they will replenish it even when it's empty. There are also ice creams available, but only 3 types of light flavors like cassis. Ice cream seems to be unpopular here. The variety of dishes may seem slightly less compared to other buffets, but each dish is delicious! The main dish, roast beef, may have tough meat, but the sauce is delicious! It's a buffet where cooking skills shine more than the ingredients. Despite the price increase, if you can enjoy a buffet at this rate in Tenjin, it's satisfying. Once again, I left with a full and satisfied stomach! Thank you for the meal (● ̄人 ̄●)(。-ω-。)
①【2012.08 First Visit Lunch】This restaurant is located on the 1st floor of Ark Hotel Hakata Royal. I found this restaurant while wandering around on a Sunday looking for a lunch spot. I caught a glimpse of the words "lunch buffet" in front of the hotel. I was really curious about it and wondered, "How much is it?" I couldn't find the price list anywhere. So, I asked the restaurant directly, and to my surprise, even though it's a hotel in the Tenjin area, it was a bit tucked away, maybe that's why. The lunch buffet was 1260 yen! Σ(=゜ω゜=;) Seriously!? I had to go! So, I had lunch here. It was full, but they said a table would be available in about 15 minutes. After a quick 15 minutes, I got a seat. The number of seats wasn't that many, and maybe because there were group customers (it didn't seem to be a buffet for them), there were hardly any crowds in front of the food. It's a situation that's quite nice when you're going for a buffet. You might doubt, "Is it not that great?" but no! There were about 40 types of dishes, and each dish was delicious. Here are some of the dishes I can remember.
- Salad bar with various options and 3 types of dressings
- 2 types of curry
- Potage soup
- Rice, miso soup
- Only roll bread
- Cold noodles
- Simmered hijiki seaweed
- String beans with sesame dressing
- Konjac stir-fry
- Sweet vinegar sauce for white fish (favorite)
- Tofu nuggets with yuba (favorite)
- Meatloaf
There were many other dishes, but the highlight was the roast beef! You can have freshly sliced roast beef on your plate. If you ask, you might get more sauce options. Since it was close to 1 o'clock during lunch, the staff brought the roast beef to us, but apparently, the chef usually cooks it right in front of you. Juicy, tender, thick slices of meat! It feels like you're eating a cut steak rather than roast beef. There were 2 sauce options. Drinks included coffee, apple juice, oolong tea, orange juice, and a variety of desserts! Pudding, 3 types of cakes, 2 types of pound cakes, 2-3 types of fruits, and ice cream bars! (Grapefruit, yuzu, cassis, 3 flavors) It's quite rare to have a hotel buffet for 1260 yen, especially on weekends, which are usually more expensive, or only available on weekdays. This restaurant offers this price even on Sundays! And in Tenjin! And you can choose your dishes without much crowding! That's why it gets a high score. Nowadays, having 40 types of dishes in a hotel buffet may seem limited, but the price, deliciousness, and the relaxing atmosphere where you can eat comfortably make it very satisfying! It's a hidden gem, so quietly enjoying the situation and the food here is a big satisfaction!
