On this day, I casually stopped by "Seasonal Sushi Yosumi" restaurant.
◇Exterior and Interior
Located down a small alley off the main street, the restaurant is housed in a building that is about three stories high. The exterior exudes a modern Japanese atmosphere, stylish and sophisticated. The interior follows a similar theme.
◇Seating
There are seats on the 1st to 3rd floors. I only used the 1st floor this time, which was a private room.
◇Menu Composition
In a nutshell, the menu covers a wide range of items. There is something for everyone. While I usually don't favor restaurants with a large number of menu items, I found it refreshing in this case. They offer sashimi, à la carte dishes, quick dishes, okonomiyaki, ramen, udon, rice dishes, hot pot, salads, grilled dishes, tempura, and more. They don't have yakitori, but almost everything else is available!
The dishes I ordered were as follows:
- Fresh Pacific Saury Sashimi (780 yen) → From Miyagi prefecture. With this year's saury season not being great, I didn't have high expectations. However, it pleasantly surprised me! It was delicious. There was a slight fishy smell, but the richness of the fish and the size of the slices made it easy to eat. Considering the reasonable price, it was of high quality. I even thought about ordering more!
- Xiao Long Bao (300 yen) → A set of 3 dumplings at this price is quite affordable. They were tasty with flavorful broth, and I managed to avoid burning my mouth while enjoying them. Given the low price, it's definitely worth it. I'll probably order this again next time.
- Salt Ramen (680 yen) → I usually don't have high expectations for ramen at izakayas, but this one was surprisingly good. It had a seafood-based flavor, especially with the delicious chashu that was more like braised pork. The noodles were standard curly noodles, which is a matter of personal preference. The addition of yuzu pepper enhanced the flavor. Personally, I prefer salt butter ramen, though.
◆Strengths
The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes at affordable prices. There are hidden gems of high cost performance among the menu items. Especially the seafood dishes seem to be a highlight.
◆Service
The service was above average.
◆Conclusion
If I were to judge solely based on taste, I would give it around 3.5 stars. However, considering the extensive menu and the option to pay by card, I would rate it slightly higher. It's always a pleasant surprise to discover a great restaurant without prior research. Thank you for the meal!
