I was working around Morinomiya and decided to look for a restaurant by bicycle, ending up in the Tamatsukuri area and entering a shopping street. There, I found Rikimochi Shokudo, which I hadn't been to in a while, so I decided to give it a try. The place had about six table seats and was quite empty around 3 o'clock. I quickly ordered the "Chuka Soba" without hesitation. I wanted to have it with beer, but I was still working. It was a very hot day, but they served me tea and water promptly. The Chuka Soba arrived without much wait, and it had a nostalgic appearance. The taste was not extremely delicious, but it was satisfying and brought back nostalgic memories. If I have the chance to come back nearby, I will definitely visit again.

The desired shop was closed on the day I visited, but I found a shop with a line of about three groups in the shopping street. I decided to try Rikimochi based on the theory that there is no failure when there is a line. I ordered parent and child rice bowl and zaru soba. It was a stable and average deliciousness! Thank you for the meal ♥️

I came here after a long time. "Rikimochi Shokudo" in Hinode-dori Shotengai. I like thick noodles, but the soft noodles at Rikimochi Shokudo that I've been eating since I was a child are also delicious. I had a taste of the sushi from the display case before my udon arrived, and the Riki Udon with mochi was a delicious energy boost. Thank you for the meal. Restaurant Name: Rikimochi Shokudo Address: 3-20 Tamatsukuri Motomachi, Tennoji-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, Tamatsukuri Hinode-dori Shotengai, about 2 minutes walk from Tamatsukuri Station Exit 5.

Title: Cheap and Good Value for Money!
The first impression is that it is really cheap! The cost performance is great! It was quite crowded with customers during lunchtime, but the order was served right away! The "extra-large soba" was served ice-cold and in a generous portion! It felt like a good deal for 870 yen! The wasabi quickly dissolved in the dipping sauce, spreading throughout the dish. There was no overwhelming wasabi taste, making it very delicious. They mainly offer a la carte dishes like inari sushi, rice bowls, and chirashi, and do not have set meals. The rice bowl dishes come with a small soup, but if you find it lacking, I recommend trying their famous ohagi. The restaurant is located in a shopping street, making it easy to find, and the interior is clean and inviting. The staff, mostly female, were all friendly and made the dining experience enjoyable.

I entered the restaurant around 1 pm on a regular day. About half of the seats were occupied by customers. I was torn between udon and rice dishes, but I decided to order the "gyudon" (beef bowl). There didn't seem to be any lunch specials or value sets available. The place had a clean atmosphere and the staff's service was good.

The old man likes rice bowls. He often eats them. They are convenient, fast, and delicious, right? He also likes to make them at home. But you know, cooking all the time can be tiring. So occasionally, he eats rice bowls at restaurants. This time, he visited Rikimochi Shokudo in Tamazutsumi. It's an old dining hall with a relaxed chain of stores. It's quite common in Osaka. He had the kitsune-don, which is fried and simmered in a sweet and savory sauce on rice. This time, he ordered it with an egg on top. It's delicious even without the egg. But adding the egg makes it even more flavorful. It was so tasty. If you have the chance, please give it a try!

Fluffy and gooey egg on top of a bowl of rice was delicious! I visited the restaurant in Osaka for the first time and ordered the Tempura Donburi. The restaurant is located in the middle of a nostalgic shopping street. The dish was called Tempura Donburi with egg on top, and the fluffy and gooey egg was amazing! I enjoyed it very much.

I found "Chikaramochi" while walking through Tamatsukuri shopping street to have a late lunch. It is a famous chain store known for ohagi. I ordered the "Others' Donburi" which came with soup. The taste of Chikaramochi was nostalgic and satisfying. I was too full to have ohagi this time.

An old man had lunch at the Rikimochi Shokudo located in the Tamatsukuri shopping street. He has visited this shop several times before because it is close to his home. He remembered writing about it on his blog in the past, so he decided to revisit it after a long time. That day, he was working from home, so he tries to eat lunch at nearby restaurants whenever he works from home to avoid being cooped up at home all day. This time, he had the Kitsune Don, which is a bowl of rice topped with sweetened and diced fried tofu covered in egg. It may seem like a simple dish, but it was delicious. The dashi (broth) used in the dish was particularly tasty. The fluffy and creamy egg combined with the sweet fried tofu was fantastic. The price was also reasonable compared to other rice bowls, at 700 yen including soup. The old man loves these kinds of casual dining places and hopes that this shop will continue to thrive.

For lunch today, I had fried curry udon and bara sushi at a teahouse called Rikimochi Shokudo, which is said to have originated in the Meiji era in Osaka. It was a bit of an unusual combination to have curry with bara sushi, but when I saw the bara sushi displayed in the glass case, I just had to try it. The udon, which is a traditional soft udon from Osaka, is becoming less common compared to the popularity of Sanuki udon in recent years. The softness of Osaka udon is reminiscent of Hakata udon, and I would like to research the roots of Osaka udon when I have the chance. In any case, the curry udon was delicious, not too spicy. The bara sushi had a slightly strong acidity, but I think it would be good if it wasn't paired with curry. Next time, I will try pairing it with cold udon.

I visited Takeout at 14:05. Many shops in the shopping district are closed due to the consecutive holidays. It's the Higan period, so I bought Ohagi... The Chirashi sushi was sold out. I bought one regular Ohagi and one Ohagi with soybean flour. It's a classic flavor. Under the soybean flour is sweet red bean paste.

Located in the Nohide Street shopping district. Tamazuto ➜ Tsuruhashi. The Rikimochi Dining in Kami-Honmachi is closed... I visited for takeout from 13:00. They have ohagi: azuki x 1, kinako x 1, azuki x 4, kinako x 4, azuki x 2. I have been eating ohagi since ancient times. It is said that the red beans in ohagi have the effect of dispelling evil spirits. 1 piece for ¥120 (tax included). Although they have become smaller than before, they are still delicious. I would like to visit the ohagi shop in Sennichimae Street someday, but it is always crowded there, so I can easily get them here.

Rikimochi Shokudo was a place I frequented often during my student days in Kyoto. Although there are around 30 branches in Osaka, it is not a chain store but rather individually owned establishments. The origin of Rikimochi Shokudo dates back to 1922 when the founder, Rikuzo Ikeguchi, started a steamed bun shop in Toyooka, Hyogo Prefecture, which later moved to Kyoto and shifted its main product from steamed buns to rice cakes. Each store has different menus, prices, and flavors, but common items seem to include udon, rice bowl dishes, and ohagi. I tried the kakiage udon here, which had ingredients like fish cake, chopped seaweed, shiitake mushrooms, and leafy vegetables. The Osaka-style udon had a mild flavor different from Sanuki udon, enjoyable even for middle-aged and older people. Personally, I felt it would be nice to have some chicken in it, and the single shiitake mushroom felt a bit lacking, but it was still delicious. Adding shichimi spice brought a different taste experience. The restaurant had about 24 seats, with two female staff members serving and around two staff members in the kitchen.

Hello! I'm a middle-aged man who loves donburi dishes. I really enjoy eating at diners, they have a cozy atmosphere that I love. One of my favorite dishes to order at diners is donburi. I often make donburi dishes at home as well. However, I don't make tempura donburi at home because I find deep frying to be a hassle. So when I want to eat tempura donburi, I go out to eat. This time, I visited a diner called Tamazou no Chikaramochi Shokudo in my neighborhood. This diner is part of a chain, but each location has slightly different menus. I chose the tempura donburi from their diverse menu. The tempura had a generous amount of flavorful batter. To be honest, as I've gotten older, I find the oiliness a bit heavy, but it's still delicious. The price was reasonable at 780 yen, and the taste was good. I really enjoy eating at diners, and I'll definitely visit again. If you have the chance, I recommend trying it out too!

It's spring and the Higan festival, so I got some Ohagi to go: one with kinako, one with azuki beans, and one with sekihan. The store was quite crowded, almost full. The flavors are simple and gentle. The Ohagi are plump and on the larger side.

Osaka's pride, Ryokuryu Mochi, is a traditional eatery known for its ohagi. Whenever I pass by, I can't resist buying one. The red bean paste is not too sweet, perfectly complementing the soft mochi. And all this for just 110 yen, which is amazing. Despite not being a chain store, the consistent quality is truly remarkable. The only downside is that they don't use preservatives and the ohagi doesn't last long due to its natural sweetness.

I have become a regular customer for their take-out inari sushi. I visited for lunch wanting to eat curry rice. As usual, the place was bustling with elderly customers and families with young children. I ordered the curry rice and with each bite, I could taste the flavor of the broth in the curry. The price was reasonable at 590 yen. However, I felt a bit out of place among the clientele. I plan to try their Chinese noodles next time.

This is a shop located in a shopping street in Tamatsukuri, Osaka. When it comes to mochi, this shop is commonly seen in Osaka, and I visited here for the first time. As I was walking through the shopping street, I saw delicious mochi sweets displayed in the showcase, and I bought a kinako ohagi. The price was reasonable, and when I ate it later, the flavor of the kinako was so fragrant and the ohagi itself had a very elegant sweetness from the anko. It was the most delicious taste I have ever had, and it was as good as the high-end traditional Japanese sweets in Kyoto. I was impressed by the incredibly delicious taste.

A comforting taste. Not from a curry specialty shop, just a pretty normal curry rice. So delicious.

The always consistent and delicious Chikara Mochi restaurant, but the shrimp tempura is a bit lonely with just one piece and egg topping. It's tasty, but a little underwhelming for the same price as a tempura rice bowl. Hmm... I'll try the tempura rice bowl next time.
