After a long time, I was able to enjoy a rich tonkotsu ramen. Although most places online still mention being open 24 hours, there are some that now show opening times as 10:00. In the past six months, I have visited around 8:00 a few times, but each time there was a sign at the entrance saying "sold out of noodles" and it was closed, so maybe they now open at 10:00. I have only visited in the morning before, so maybe they weren't offering it at that time?? I also had my first experience of getting a second serving of noodles for just 10 yen (which made me happy for various reasons)! As expected, the ramen here in the morning was still a stimulating bowl for the stomach.

Gankomon Ramen (thin noodles) for 590 yen, with a large serving of rice for 150 yen. I ordered the ramen with a high-concentration animal broth and thin noodles (using Hakata wheat). I enjoyed the texture of the thin noodles. The dish came with two thick slices of pork and mushrooms for 590 yen. It's great that the extra noodle refill is only 10 yen for the first refill and 50 yen for subsequent refills. Thank you for the meal.

[Visit Date] April 29, 2022 (12:30) [Restaurant] I was playing at a pachinko parlor in Koga City and decided to have lunch at a nearby eatery in the same building. I'm not sure if the person I interacted with was the owner, but there was only one staff member in the kitchen. There were no other customers present. The name of the place was "Gankomon Ramen". The staff member on duty that day was quiet and unfriendly, which I didn't particularly like. [Food] I purchased "Gankomon Ramen" from the ticket machine and tried it. It was a pork bone ramen with a strong smell. However, the smell was oddly pleasant and addictive, so I found it delicious overall. I saw the staff member briefly open the lid of the soup pot in the kitchen, revealing a large piece of meat that looked like pork skin. I assume there was pork bone underneath, but it was interesting to see such a large piece of meat being simmered in the soup.

Today's lunch was in the Koga and Shingu direction. I didn't have much time, so I was thinking about getting noodles. As I was driving towards the Koga Interchange on Route 3, I noticed a prominent sign for "Gankomon Ramen Fukuoka Branch" near the "Ima Zaike" intersection, so I decided to stop by. It seems to be a branch of a shop with its main store in Onga. I parked my car in the parking lot, entered the shop, and purchased a meal ticket from the vending machine next to the entrance to place my order. I decided to go with the "Gankomon Ramen" priced at 590 yen since I wanted something quick to eat. I sat at the counter inside the shop and waited for a few minutes. The "Gankomon Ramen" was served! I had imagined a rich Kurume-style ramen due to the mention of layered cooking method, but the color was different than I expected, leaning towards a strong brown hue. The broth was on the fatty side, giving it a rich taste, but the pork bone flavor was somewhat lacking, with a stronger taste of ramen sauce (soy sauce?). The smell was also quite strong, so it was a bit different from what I had anticipated. Amidst the overall greasiness, the chashu pork slices were made with belly meat, adding to the fatty richness. The noodles were medium thickness, cooked to a "normal" texture, but leaning towards a slightly powdery and firm side. Personally, I didn't quite enjoy the taste of the soup and noodles. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this place for the first time! The name of the restaurant is Gankomon, and true to its name, I entered cautiously because of the strong animal smell. When I arrived at the restaurant, the owner greeted me in a low voice, making me feel a bit intimidated. I purchased the Gankomon Ramen for 590 yen from the ticket machine and handed it to the owner. In a few minutes, the ramen was served. When I tasted the soup, the rich pork bone flavor was delightful, but I felt that it lacked a bit of saltiness. The noodles were slightly thinner than expected, but they had a good chewy texture and a nice wheat aroma. The chashu was thick, tender, and flavorful. The restaurant is open 24 hours, so there may be variations in taste, but I think it's worth revisiting. Fukuoka's ramen is quite affordable in the 600 yen range.

I came to eat here after a long time! This ramen shop operates with a ticket vending machine system. There are only counter seats available. There were no acrylic dividers between the seats, so I made sure to leave some space between myself and the person next to me. The last time I came here was when my child was in the upper grades of elementary school, so it was quite a while ago. I remember back then, the extra noodle refill was only 10 yen... The rich and creamy tonkotsu broth was delicious. It was so good that I couldn't help but keep taking one spoonful after another.

The other day, while driving, I spotted a pink sign for Gankomon Ramen! Gankomon is famous in Tenjin, so I was happy to see it in Koga City! I went there right after work. Turn onto Route 3 towards the shop and there is a parking lot in the back. Inside the shop, there is a ticket machine on the left where you can buy the recommended Gankomon Ramen with medium thick noodles and Nagahama Ramen with thin noodles. I ordered the Gankomon Ramen without hesitation! The unique miso tonkotsu soup is rich enough to have oil floating on top if you're not careful! The medium thick noodles go well with this soup, sliding smoothly down your throat. I recommend it for those who like rich miso tonkotsu flavor!

Fukuoka Prefecture, Koga City, located near Koga Interchange on Route 3. The main store is in Onga, and there used to be several stores in the Fukuoka area a few years ago, but now only the Fukuoka store remains. The exterior is located at the corner of a complex building with a small free parking lot available. The interior has counter seats and table seats, with the kitchen area surrounding the seating area. I visited the shop in the morning, inspired by the owner's YouTube videos showing his dedication to making ramen. The owner seems to be a good person, and watching him work hard in the videos made me want to support him. I wonder if the shop is still open 24 hours a day, and if the owner ever takes a break or goes home to rest. I tried the "Premium Tonkotsu Ramen", and while the soup was not very rich in tonkotsu flavor, there was an excessive amount of lard that overpowered the balance of the dish. The excessive lard interfered with the enjoyment of the noodles, making the mouth feel greasy. Most ramen shops in Fukuoka use a separate "super lard" which affects the soup negatively. The tonkotsu blend in the soup lacked depth of flavor, and there was a hint of bloodiness which affected the overall quality. However, the homemade noodles and chashu were decently tasty. If the soup is improved by reducing the lard and addressing the tonkotsu blend, the ramen could become delicious. I would consider visiting again in the future. Enjoy Ramen Life☆

We visited Gancomon Koga-ten with some close friends after going to Utakawa, a meat shop, and a snack bar in Nakasu. We parked our car in the parking lot behind the shop, bought ramen from the ticket machine, and sat at the counter with four of us. This time, I had the Nagahama (thin noodles) ramen. It was as oily as usual, and while I can see why some people would love it, it was a bit too rich for my taste. The homemade thin noodles were well-coated with the soup, but personally, I prefer the regular medium-thin noodles. I finished the noodles but couldn't finish the soup because it was too thick. However, I've been watching the YouTube channel run by the owner of Gancomon recently, and they introduced the premium Gancomon ramen that is only available from 10 am to 12 pm. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm really interested in it. It has a lighter broth and is topped with chestnut pork chashu. It's a bit difficult for me to go during that time, but I hope to make an opportunity to try it. Thank you for the meal. #Gancomon #Koga #TonkotsuRamen #DoubleBoiled #CallBack #RichTonkotsu #HomemadeNoodles #YouTubeIsInterestingToo #FukuokaGourmet #Gaso #RamenLoverGaso #gaso #fukuoka #ramen #tonkotsu #gourmet

The other day, after enjoying delicious dumplings at Gyoza-rou near Yoshizuka Station with four people, one person suddenly said they really wanted to eat Ganko Ramen, so we decided to head to Ganko Mon Koga store late at night. We purchased the Ganko Mon Ramen ticket at the entrance and took a seat at the counter. Soon, the ramen arrived! It had been a while since I last visited, but the soup, cooked by adding bones continuously as they claim, had a significant layer of fat on the surface due to the emulsification exceeding the limit. The sauce was well-seasoned, mixing perfectly with the homemade noodles, creating a unique ramen that can only be found here. To be honest, it's quite a heavy bowl for someone like me, a middle-aged man, but it's strange how I occasionally crave it. I was already quite full when I arrived, so I didn't order an extra serving of noodles, but the tightly packed homemade noodles were delicious. Finally, the chef mentioned that he had started a YouTube channel, so we all had fun filming videos together. I heard that they also sell a Premium Ganko Mon Ramen, although it wasn't available when we visited, so I'm interested in trying that as well. Visited early in the morning. Ordered ramen and a small bowl of rice. Also got an extra serving of noodles. The 10 yen extra noodles option is definitely appealing. Despite being a small bowl of rice, the portion was quite generous. Now, the ramen was rich and full of oil. It says "pork bone finishing" on the menu, and indeed it has a strong flavor. It would be irresistible for those who love oil! The fact that they are open 24 hours and the cleanliness of the restaurant were great.

I went to Shiraryuken with my junior, but unfortunately, it was a temporary closed day. We were both in the mood for ramen, so my junior suggested we go to Gankomon Ramen. We both ordered the Gankomon Ramen for 590 yen. The table had condiments like spicy pickled mustard greens, garlic, and red pickled ginger. The soup was a bit thick, but not piping hot, which was a bit disappointing. The chashu was to my liking. Even though I saw in reviews that extra noodles were 50 yen, on that day it was only 10 yen, so my junior decided to get an extra serving. Thank you for the meal!

After finishing work in Koga City, I stopped by a ramen shop across from Takayama Shimpoten on my way home. The parking lot is shared with a women's clothing store around a high-voltage iron tower. Make sure not to park in the parking lots of Higashigoe-san or Daruma-san. When you enter the shop, you first buy a meal ticket. The menu is simple, with ramen as the basic option, along with toppings and onigiri. Since it was my first time, I ordered the basic Gankomon ramen (590 yen) with an extra serving of noodles (100 yen). Despite it being a Saturday afternoon, the staff seemed a bit slow due to other customers' orders. The ramen was quite thick and rich, although it didn't seem to use pork back fat. This might be a preference split among customers. The chashu was quite thick but tenderly simmered. The noodles were medium-thin, made with wheat and had a good chewiness even when cooked firm. Another basic option, Nagahama ramen, has very thin noodles. I also ordered an extra serving of noodles, which was quite generous. Overall, the ramen had a good volume considering the price and quantity. The richness of the broth may divide opinions, but in terms of cost performance, it's not bad at all. Thank you for the meal.

"Fukuoka Ramen tour 'Kairyu' offers a rich and intense tonkotsu ramen that is different from 'Kairyu' and has a strong animalistic flavor, available 24 hours a day at 'Gankomon Ramen.' For those from outside Kyushu, it may be unbearable, but for me, it has become addictive... Gankomon Ramen (Imanosho, Koga City) Gankomon Ramen: 590 yen"

I quite like the shops in Onga, but I wasn't a big fan of the ones around Fukuoka City International Conference Center. This place is decent though. It's convenient that it's open 24 hours, and I like the rich taste as well. The shop is clean and easy to use. I will visit again.

I went during a break from work for the first time. It was my first time. The fact that it's open 24 hours is very convenient. The taste was quite oily, unlike its appearance, but it was delicious. If you prefer light flavors, please refrain. 🙅‍♀️

I visited a 24-hour restaurant along the 3rd line that caught my interest. I ordered ramen and the soup was rich and heavy. It reminded me of a mix between Nishitaniya and Akaren, with a strong Akaren-like flavor but without the thick texture of Nishitaniya. The soup paired well with the noodles, creating a perfect match. However, some women may not enjoy the taste!

It was my first time visiting, and the ramen was 590 yen. Extra noodles cost 10 yen (50 yen for the 3rd serving onwards). It was rich but easy to eat. You can choose between medium and extra-thin noodles. The free extra toppings of spicy mustard greens were great, and getting two extra noodle servings for 610 yen was fantastic.
