The beer is frozen! The shishifuruto is incredibly delicious! The wild boar stewed udon for 2000 yen is definitely worth it! The menu is extensive and it's hard to choose, but you can't go wrong with the above! It's so delicious! I was torn between the wild boar and egg bowl that I had last time, but I still recommend trying the wild boar stewed udon first. You can't come here without trying the shishifuruto and the ice-cold draft beer! The turtle parfait is also tempting! There are plenty of souvenirs in the store to choose from on your way out, which is also appealing! It's just 10 steps away from the station, so it's fine even in the scorching sun! The interior is cool, and the ice-cold draft beer is waiting for you! I'll definitely come back again!

At the end of the year on December 30th, my family of three decided to go somewhere with a nice view, so we drove to Mt. Myoken. We took a walk at the summit and visited the shrine, and on our way back for lunch, we searched for a place to eat. It was cold, so we wanted to eat something like hot pot udon, and we found "Kametani" restaurant. The restaurant was located about 15 minutes from the mountaintop, right in front of the Nose Electric Railway Myoken-guchi Station, and there was a spacious parking lot available. The interior of the restaurant was small, with about 6-7 tables. When we looked at the menu, we found that their specialty was Shishinabe miso stewed udon, which was a bit pricey but we all decided to order it. After a while, a genuine iron pot bubbling over a fire was served, and it was impressive. The ingredients included wild boar meat, as well as napa cabbage, enoki mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, shimeji mushrooms, green onions, mizuna, wakame seaweed, fish cake, and grilled mochi, and the udon was hidden beneath the luxurious toppings. The wild boar meat matched perfectly with the miso flavor and was delicious. Personally, I was especially impressed by the large shiitake mushrooms that had a unique and delicious taste. We also ordered the wild boar fruit, which was also tasty. Surprisingly, I did not expect it to be this delicious, so we ended up buying pickles and souvenirs, and it felt like a mini day trip. The staff at the restaurant were friendly and the atmosphere was great. Thank you for the meal! (^^)

Kametani @ Myoken-guchi / Shishi Flute Tonight is Christmas, and I am spending it with my girlfriend. It seems like it's been 6 years since we last had a weekend Christmas like this. So, we decided to meet in the morning. Today, at my girlfriend's request, we went to Myoken-guchi Station, a place she has been wanting to visit. Surprisingly, my girlfriend likes trains (I don't mind them either). We met at Osaka Umeda Station and took the train to Myoken-guchi Station. It's nice to travel by train once in a while. We arrived at Myoken-guchi Station on time. Actually, we were the only ones who got off at this station from the transfer station, Yamashita Station. Under the cold sky with snow falling, we took some photos and when we were about to catch the return train, my girlfriend said she wanted to eat something. So, we visited "Kametani" out of the 3 shops in front of the station. This place mainly serves dishes using wild boar meat. Actually... I'm not a fan of game meat, especially wild boar. I haven't eaten it since I had a bad experience with the smell in the past. However, life is about taking on challenges, as Jumbo Tsuruta would say, so I decided to try their recommended dish, Shishi Flute, and bought 2 pieces. We ate outside on the terrace, despite the cold weather. The unique smell of wild boar meat was already noticeable. This smell is what I can't stand. But I took a bite and surprisingly, the smell wasn't as strong as I expected. The taste of the meat was rich. Of course, there was a faint smell when eating, but it was not as strong as before trying it. Ketchup and mustard were available for an additional charge, but I thought the meat was delicious as it is. If it's like this, even someone like me who doesn't like wild boar can eat it.

At the entrance of the store, the "Shishi Furuto" announcement with the indescribable expression of "Uri-bo" ... When you take a step into the store, souvenirs were lined up in a crowded manner, and it was very lively, but the eat-in space in the back was a quiet and calm space with a black base. According to the staff, this place was renovated about 2 years ago. Shishi meat udon (1200 yen) was a "nabe-yaki" type, so when it was served, it was in a bubbling hot pot! The ingredients such as wild boar meat, locally produced shiitake mushrooms, and kikuna were abundant. The broth has a gentle taste, but you can slightly feel the richness of the wild boar meat extract. The soft udon noodles are perfect for nabe-yaki udon! It was delicious. I tried wild boar meat for the first time this time, and it does have a slightly different taste from pork. It was tasty, but the fatty parts had a slightly unique taste. The udon broth I had today was a light taste type, but there is also a white miso-based udon available. It's a bit pricey, but I would like to try it if I have the chance (even though it's a bit far). I purchased the "Toyono Cider" (250 yen) with a label featuring "Noseden" as a souvenir. Thank you for the meal. Nose Dentetsu Myokenguchi Station nearby.

I am the foolish son of a safe maker in Kobe. It is a delicious restaurant, so please try to visit. Currently on Tabelog, if you upload images of the exterior of the restaurant or signs, even if you have not actually eaten there, have not eaten there, or if it is a restaurant that has not opened yet, it will be considered as one review and one comment. I am very sad and frustrated, but I still want to support restaurants, so I apologize for the inconvenience, but please refer to the following Ameblo (blog) for details of the restaurant reviews. Noryoku Den Myokenkuchi Station is nostalgic and filled with a sense of melancholy. The Kamedani souvenir shop seems to also serve as a cafe, with a trendy interior featuring a jazzy BGM playing from BOSE speakers. I ordered the wild boar miso stew udon, which was delicious and satisfying. The stew was made with white miso, giving it a light and pleasant taste. The hot pot was filled with a variety of ingredients, including wild boar meat, which had a nice chewy texture and added to the overall enjoyment of the dish. The udon noodles were soft and cooked just right, complementing the flavors of the stew. Overall, it was a delightful experience and I left feeling warm and satisfied.

I had a turtle parfait. Eat-in price is ¥850, takeout is ¥800. The bottom has warabi mochi with kinako, nuts, soft serve ice cream, sweet potato, yomogi dango, and kibi dango. The sweet potato has delicious milk paste inside. The dango was cold and hard, so it might have been tastier if it was warm and soft. The soft serve ice cream was rich and tasty. It was a new parfait with a combination I've never had before. There are no other restaurants near Myoken-kuchi Station, so it was crowded with customers.

The restaurant is combined with a souvenir shop, and there is a relatively clean eat-in space in the back. They serve a specialty dish called shishi nabe miso simmered udon. You can order it for 2,200 yen for 100g, which is double the normal price. The restroom is hard to find (lol). They play jazz music in the background, and the decor includes black walls and halogen lighting. The udon noodles seem to be frozen, but they are thin and the broth is light and elegant. Towards the end, you can add some red pepper for extra flavor. The shishi meat is not too tough and has no gamey taste, and the portion size is generous. It was delicious. They don't provide wet towels, which would have been nice. I also bought some shishi furuto for takeout, which cost 300 yen per piece. It's a bit pricey for a tourist area, in my opinion.

Next to Myoken-guchi Station on the Noshiro Electric Railway, there is a shop with a spacious parking lot. Inside, you can enjoy various dishes like wild boar hot pot and miso stewed udon, but I purchased the takeout menu items - wild boar sausage, Toyono cider, and wild boar bread. The wild boar sausage has a rough visual appearance that is quite appealing. When you bite into the firm skin, the rich flavor of the meat fills your mouth and it is very delicious. The portion size per sausage is substantial, and at 300 yen each, it is quite a good deal. The Toyono cider is, well, just cider (laughs), but it is a refreshing type with yacon juice added. The wild boar bread has a whole chestnut from the local area inside. Since the chestnut is not crushed, it is not evenly distributed throughout the bread, which affects the balance, but the sweetness of the chestnut itself is fantastic. Enjoying the peaceful flow of time is also one of the pleasures here ☺︎

Before heading to Mt. Myoken, I stopped at Myoken-guchi Station for a meal. The Shishitoji-don is sweet and rich in flavor. The Shishinabe miso simmered udon has a white miso similar to miso soup, making it easy to eat. It's a bit pricey at 1500 yen, but it comes with plenty of mochi and various ingredients, so you'll be satisfied.

I don't know how many times I've visited this place! This time, the service was self-checkout, but the oden, curry soup, chimaki, and alcohol were all delicious and had a great atmosphere.

My mother and I decided to go see the cherry blossoms at Mt. Myoken. It had been a while, so we took the Nose Electric Railway bound for Myoken. As we rode along, the scenery outside the station remained unchanged, bringing back nostalgic memories. We got off at Myoken-guchi station and right in front of us was the "Kametani" shop. This shop has been around for a long time and the view outside the station was just as charming as ever. The weather was nice that day, with the sun shining warmly. I bought a Noses Ginger Ale to enjoy while walking. It was refreshing and not too sweet. After walking and enjoying the scenery, we took a lift to the mountaintop. The Noses Ginger Ale was delicious, so I bought some as souvenirs along with Blueberry Cider and Chestnut Bread. The chestnuts in Noses are a famous variety called "Ginsugi." The shop owners were very friendly and their son even gave us a smile. They wished us a safe journey home as we left. Mt. Myoken was just starting to bloom, with cherry blossoms at the summit and full bloom at the base. I also spotted various wildflowers during our walk. Overall, it was a lovely experience with beautiful scenery, kind people, and delicious food.

I went on a drive without any particular destination in mind and ended up feeling hungry. However, in the remote area of Nose, there were no restaurants around (laughs). So, I chose the closest one, which had a parking lot in front that made it look like an open cafe (laughs). When I entered the restaurant, I saw locals - elderly men and women with children, spending time leisurely. I ordered the recommended Kinoha-don (rice bowl with shiitake mushrooms) and a special limited edition udon. The Kinoha-don had plenty of shiitake mushrooms grown by the restaurant, and although it was a bit rich, the harmony of shiitake aroma and dashi was indescribable. The special limited edition udon was packed with shiitake mushrooms, wild boar meat, onions, and more - maybe a bit too many ingredients (laughs). The wild boar meat had a miso flavor, and the dashi highlighted the unique smell of the meat. Inside the restaurant, there were souvenirs, and Mount Myoken was nearby. I recommend stopping by for a meal after hiking. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I went hiking at Mt. Myoken in Nouse, and it was a hot day. The hiking trail was not too difficult, and I enjoyed both the ascent and descent. I noticed a shaved ice stand before starting the hike, but I decided to wait until after coming back down. The shaved ice was delicious and refreshing after the hike. The price was reasonable, ranging from 350 to 400 yen depending on the toppings. The shaved ice was fluffy and piled high, perfect for a hot day. The flavors were classic like strawberry, lemon, and blue Hawaii. The shop had a simple cafeteria-style setup, but it matched the atmosphere of the area. I highly recommend stopping by for some shaved ice after hiking Mt. Myoken. It was a treat after sweating so much. Thank you for the delicious treat!
