Eichocho, Moji Ward, Kitakyushu City. A diner that opened at the beginning of this year (2022). The interior is set up for small groups, but they can accommodate larger groups by pushing tables together. The menu is simple, with options like daily specials, simmered hamburger steak set, salted mackerel set, fried chicken set, and chicken cutlet set. The daily specials change based on the day of the week. This time, I ordered the fried chicken set (900 yen). The fried chicken set came with six small pieces of fried chicken, cabbage on the side, pickles, and a small side dish (cold tofu on this day). The miso soup was flavorful and the rice was fluffy. The fried chicken was a bit overcooked, juicy but slightly dry. I chose the large rice portion. Most customers were dining alone or in pairs. The restaurant's style fits in well with the neighborhood. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Aoi Shokudo, a new restaurant in Moji Port, and ordered the mackerel set meal and hamburger set meal. The mackerel was surprisingly large and had a good amount of fat on it. It was delicious and I would love to eat it every day. There was no fishy smell and it was clear that they were cooking good mackerel. My companion ordered the hamburger, and they said it was like something you would find in a family restaurant. I'll have to try it myself next time. The owner was very polite and the atmosphere was nice, although the presence of a TV in the restaurant gave it a bit of a snack bar feel, which was a minor downside. Since it's a new restaurant, I hope they do well and the mackerel was really delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Hamburg steak stew set 880 yen Chicken cutlet set 820 yen I entered the restaurant one minute before opening at 10:59 and was not scolded. They said there was no daily special on Saturdays. From the regular menu, I ordered the chicken cutlet for myself and the hamburg steak stew for my companion. The chicken cutlet was delicious! What made it delicious was the very tender and extremely juicy chicken thigh meat. The frying method may have had something to do with it. The coating was crispy and nicely fried. My companion's hamburg steak was cooked to a great extent, almost to the point where you could drink it. The rice was also delicious, and I couldn't help but wonder if other menu items like salted mackerel would be delicious too before leaving. They do not accept cashless payments.

Today's special is a large minced cutlet with sweet and savory sauce, served with salad, boiled vegetables, macaroni salad, rice, and miso soup. The staff at the restaurant are very friendly, and the interior is clean and new. The restaurant is not very spacious, and around noon on weekdays, it tends to be quite busy with people who work nearby.

As of January 25, 2022, the opening hours have been changed to 11:00-20:00. A new set meal and casual drinking establishment opened near the entrance of the Sakae Shopping Street in January 2022. I read about it in "Kitakyushu Nokoto" and had planned to go on Monday, but I've been eating a lot of pork shabu-shabu lately at home and outside, so I decided to switch to having fried horse mackerel on Tuesday. The weather was nice and the cold was mild, making it a comfortable day. There were about 6-7 table seats, a raised seating area for 1, and 3-4 counter seats, but only 2 seats were being used with flowers displayed for celebration. I ordered the daily special on Tuesday, which was fried horse mackerel. There were three thick pieces, not surprisingly, but they were plump. The tartar sauce was delicious, making me wish for a "extra sauce" option! The tartar sauce, with visible chunks of boiled egg, was the type that makes you want more rice. I was very satisfied with the fried horse mackerel set meal, but when I caught a glimpse of the salted mackerel set meal ordered by the customer next to me, my heart was in turmoil. A huge, taut mackerel, about 15 cm in length, was lying there. This is a problem... The next target was supposed to be chicken nanban, but the salted mackerel suddenly took the spotlight. Plus, you can choose to have a large serving of rice, of course, a small serving is also available. I opted for a regular serving this time, but with that mackerel, I would need to be careful with my pace if I were to go for a large serving. A good set meal restaurant has opened in Sakae Town (*^ω^*). There was no PayPay QR code available, so I paid in cash.

I had been curious about this restaurant for a while, so I decided to visit during lunchtime on a weekday and try their daily lunch special. It was Thursday, so I had the fried horse mackerel set. The fried fish didn't have the tail, so it looked more like mackerel. I forgot to take a photo, sorry. The interior of the restaurant was very beautiful, and the food was delicious. I would like to try other menu items in the future. There aren't many places to have a set meal in this area, so I plan to come back here during my work breaks.
