At the Michi-no-Eki Apunta. I bought some vegetables and... gelato! You can choose between a single (350 yen) or a double (450 yen). I chose the double...! I went for the Camui Mintar Blue Salt and corn flavors. There were also pumpkin, matcha, white cream, chocolate chip, chocolate, vanilla, cookie cream, milk tea, apple sherbet, sesame, almond caramel, and more! The gelato was soft and creamy. The corn had a rich and authentic flavor with bits of corn kernels. You can choose between a cup or a cone. They also had the Makiba Milk Soft Serve (450 yen). There were tables and chairs outside to sit and take a break. It was delicious! Visited in July 2023.

The gelato shop here offers delicious gelato at a great price. I ordered a double cup (450 yen) with "Kamui Mintar no Shio" and "Goma" flavors. There is a free eat-in space on the second floor of the adjacent building where you can enjoy the gelato while looking out at Funka Bay. The "Goma" flavor is a milk-based gelato with white and black sesame seeds mixed in, giving it a crunchy texture and a nutty flavor. The "Kamui Mintar no Shio" flavor uses salt made from the seawater of Funka Bay and is colored and scented with blue curacao to represent the color of the sea. Both flavors have a refreshing sweetness and are delicious! I am also curious about the Yomogi and White Cream flavors. I will definitely try them next time I visit this place. Today I enjoyed corn, pumpkin, red shiso, mille-feuille with white cream, matcha almond caramel, and azuki beans - all my favorite things! I thought I hadn't eaten azuki beans and my favorite almond caramel for a while. Since I couldn't eat inside the store, I enjoyed them in my car while looking at the sea. I came to the roadside station for another errand. When I saw the ice cream at Lake Hill Farm, I decided to get a takeout because they had some that were at the perfect ripeness. I chose corn and blueberry mix flavors. The flavors of each are as shown in the photo. I have tried Lake Hill Farm's gelato before, but the one I found the most delicious was the "corn". Highly recommended!!

I ordered a double scoop of cheese cream and matcha gelato on a cone. Today, the temperature was lower than usual so I enjoyed it on the terrace, listening to the sound of cicadas. The cheese cream had a smooth taste with a mix of cheese richness and cream sweetness. The matcha gelato was delicious even for those who don't usually like matcha, it was hard not to say it's delicious. Both cheese and matcha flavors were different, making it a fun and tasty experience.

The perfect sweetness of the chocolate, the refreshing taste of the apple, and the crunchy texture of the sorbet made for a delicious combination. Mixing the chocolate and apple together created a taste that is hard to describe, but simply put, it was delicious.

When I come to this Michi-no-Eki, I always eat either uni or gelato. It's delicious. I stopped by in the evening, so I went with gelato. I was torn between Kamui Mintara, but I ended up getting a double scoop of white milk and shiso sorbet. The gentle sweetness of the white milk and the refreshing shiso flavor. If you alternate between bites, you could eat as much as you want. I'd like to try all the flavors someday.

In April 2022, during a 3-night, 4-day trip to Hokkaido, I took a sightseeing cruise on Lake Toya and then walked along the Nakajima walking path before stopping at the Apita Roadside Station. Without any prior research, I found a branch of Lake Hill Farm there! I tried the Gelato Double for 420 yen, with 16 flavors to choose from. I selected the two Japanese-style gelato flavors made with Hokkaido black soybeans, "Black Soybean Kinako," and the white flower beans from Toyako-cho, "White Flower Beans." The gentle sweetness of the gelato really soothed my tired body from walking. Thank you for the delicious treat.

The weather was nice, so I went to a roadside station to eat. I was happy to see a wide variety of flavors available. I chose a double scoop of "Rum Raisin" and "Matcha" for 420 yen. I usually don't eat or drink anything with matcha flavor, but I decided to try it with my favorite rum raisin. When I took a bite of the matcha first, the flavor spread in my mouth and it was surprisingly delicious. I love rum raisin and have had it before, so I was satisfied with the large raisins and great taste.

Is it okay to say that the location is in Donan? It seems like it's not in Toyako or Abuta Town (address-wise). It's inside the Michi-no-Eki Apita (not B). Since it's a Michi-no-Eki, the parking lot is not that big, but it's decent. The evening view looks beautiful. There weren't many visitors on this weekday afternoon, but those who came were buying gelato! Soft serve ice cream ended at the end of October this year (2021). I tried the gelato single cone with Black Chinsuko Kinako flavor, and it had a strong Black Chinsuko taste! The black sugar walnut was a nice accent. There were many flavors to choose from (I remember about 10). Plus, there were many interesting flavors to try! I want to come back to try more!

I always worry too much about choosing flavors that don't overlap with my husband's, but today we both ended up choosing Black Chigasaki Kinako! And it was the perfect choice! The kinako was filled with crunchy walnuts. We chose kinako and white beans, but I always have trouble deciding between pumpkin, white milk, and Kamuimintara salt... (laughs) Oh, there was no corn! The gelato had a rich milk flavor and was slightly too sweet for my taste, but still delicious. The main shop often has long queues, so this branch might be a hidden gem. I recommend it to gelato lovers.

It's been about a year since I last visited Michi-no-Eki Aputa. I decided to collect stamps from the Michi-no-Eki and purchase local specialty products from the shop inside, as well as enjoy the gelato I came for. I ordered the rum raisin and blueberry milk flavors. The blueberries used in the blueberry milk flavor seem to be produced at Lake Hill Farm. While the rum raisin flavor is particularly popular among women, I chose the blueberry milk. After purchasing, I went outside and enjoyed my gelato while looking out at the Naiura Bay. However, if you want to experience a variety of flavors, make sure to consider the combination of flavors before ordering, as both flavors may end up tasting similar when eaten together. (laughs)

This shop? You can enjoy authentic gelato at a roadside station along National Route 37 without having to go to Tsukinobori. Every time you visit, there is a new menu to look forward to, making it an enjoyable store. This time, I ordered a double scoop of shiso gelato and a salt ice cream (forgot the name). The shiso flavor is rich yet refreshing, and the salt ice cream, despite being salty, is not overpowering and sweeter than regular vanilla. It reminded me of watermelon with salt. With a wide variety of flavors, you can enjoy different combinations. The salt ice cream (forgot the name) is the most recommended among all the ones I've tried so far!

The asparagus flavor is not too strong, it has a refreshing taste. The White cream is not as rich as milk ice cream, it has a light taste.
