I enjoyed Japanese tea! I decided to buy some matcha and visited this shop, where I heard they have a tea room where you can enjoy tea. Taking time to savor the tea was very relaxing and enjoyable! I was able to appreciate the changing aroma and flavor of the tea through the first, second, and third infusions. The taste had a good balance of bitterness, sweetness, and a rich aroma! Finally, I tried the tea leaves with soy sauce to experience the depth of Japanese tea. I will definitely go back to try a different type of tea next time. Thank you for the delicious experience.

While exploring Shinsaibashi, I was looking for a place to take a break and happened to stumble upon this place. Despite being just a little off the main street, it had a nice atmosphere! I ordered a set of unique Japanese black tea and a rare salted rice cake ice cream. Both were delicious! The Japanese black tea had a nice blend of Japanese tea and black tea flavors. I ended up buying some tea bags on my way out. The salted rice cake ice cream was a flavor I love! I usually don't take many risks, but I'm glad I ordered this. My husband ordered the roasted green tea set, which was also delicious when I took a bite.

The matcha!! I choked on the matcha powder. Highly recommended for matcha lovers. The ice cream was packed all the way to the bottom of the cone, delicious!

The matcha soft serve at Naka-ya looked delicious, so I stopped by to try it. It was a bit hot outside, and the matcha flavor seemed really strong, so I decided to mix it with milk to lighten it up. However, both flavors turned out to be rich and creamy.

I had the Strong Steamed Sencha and Ochazuke Set (540 yen) at Toyo Toyo. Even though I was already full from lunch, I felt like having something to drink, and that's when I stumbled upon this shop. Despite passing by the shop often, I never knew there was such a cozy space inside. They served a cold Kyoto green tea as a complimentary drink, which was enough to satisfy any tea lover's heart. It was delicious - sweet, round, and slightly astringent. As I relaxed, the staff brought out freshly brewed sencha at the perfect temperature. The tea snack was a sakura mochi taken out from a plastic wrapper - not bad for the price. The color of the tea was beautiful, a clear watercolor. It might be new tea. Since I like the strong flavor of deep-steamed sencha, this tea was perfect for me. They also provided a pot of hot water, so you could have a second steep. They recommended steeping it for 10 seconds. The second steep was a bit weak, maybe I should have just stuck with the first one. There were hardly any other customers, so the atmosphere was calm. They sell tea leaves and soft serve ice cream outside the shop, and it felt a bit unsettling when foreigners stopped by to look at them. They have various menu items using tea, but for me, just having a delicious green tea was satisfying. However, if I ever feel tired and crave something sweet, I would definitely come back here. Thank you for the meal.

Well, I came to Shinsaibashi. This place is popular among Asian tourists and can get crowded on weekends. It's hot, but not too crowded today. I tried the matcha soft serve for 350 yen including tax. The soft serve was smooth and creamy, and the cup was wide so no worries about drips. The sweetness was refreshing, with a good balance of milk flavor. The matcha flavor wasn't as strong as I expected, but it was still delicious. Overall, I recommend it. Thank you for visiting and reading!

Strolling around the area near Shinsaibashi - Want to try some matcha soft serve ice cream? So, I tried the "matcha soft serve ice cream" for 350 yen! Hmm, they've raised the price... and they don't sprinkle matcha powder on it anymore... I liked that. It was delicious but a bit disappointing. (September 2015) On the way back from a memorial service, we made a detour to Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi area - while wandering around, we found matcha soft serve ice cream! We went in and ordered the "matcha soft serve ice cream" for 330 yen! The matcha soft serve ice cream was... delicious! The sprinkled matcha powder added a nice touch. Thanks to the matcha, it felt like an upgrade! It was so good that I might switch from being a vanilla fan to a matcha fan (lol). My wife also praised the deliciousness. While eating, we looked around the store... and decided to buy some tea as a souvenir. We haven't tried it yet, but we're looking forward to it!

Today's tea was... I was interested in something Japanese♡ So, since I discovered a delicious sencha at the end of the year, I went back to buy it again✧︎◝︎(*´꒳`*)◜︎✧︎˖ The entrance is a tea shop by Uji Kaen. It has a nice tea aroma^ ^ Ah~♡ taking a deep breath, the tea air fills my body and I feel soothed♡ On the left side of the shop, there is a cafe, which is a bit hidden but it adds to the charm, right? No strict tea etiquette, just enjoy tea in a casual way^ ^ That's the kind of place it is♪ It was a wonderful space that you wouldn't think was in the hustle and bustle of the shopping street☆ The soft lighting adds a calming atmosphere^ ^ I was going to have some sencha, but when I saw a lovely tea bowl, I couldn't resist and asked for a matcha set¨̮♡︎ However, the choice of tea bowl is up to the shop staff... Nervous((o(‾◡︎◝︎*)(* ◜︎◡︎‾)o))Excited♡ Yay✧︎◝︎(*´꒳`*)◜︎✧︎˖‼︎♡ They served it in a clamshell tea bowl! Thank you so much~✧︎◝︎(*´꒳`*)◜︎✧︎˖ Such a happy moment♡♡ I've heard that clamshells have been considered auspicious since ancient times, so I'm happy♡ Maybe because Hinamatsuri (Doll's Festival) is coming soon^ ^ The representative foods of Hinamatsuri are sushi, clam soup, three-colored diamond-shaped rice cakes, hina-arare (sweet rice crackers), and peach blossom amazake. Each has a special meaning, and for clam soup, it is said that if the shells don't fit perfectly together, it symbolizes a couple that doesn't match. This represents the wish for a couple to stay together for life... How romantic♡ It's a beautiful expression of the feelings of parents who wish for their children to grow up healthy and happy, and it's just lovely to think about^ ^ Even now, I think the same feelings remain... The way of expressing such beautiful culture may change with the times, but I don't think it's a bad thing, and I want to cherish it♪ It was a moment to immerse myself in the romantic thoughts of our ancestors♡ Matcha and sweets are, needless to say, delicious^ ^ I almost wanted seconds... Dangerous, dangerous... Since it's a tea shop, the hospitality is reassuring. I had a question about how to brew sencha, so I asked and they kindly explained it to me♡ Special training to brew a round and fragrant delicious sencha at home^ ^ Laughter. It's important to have time to return to yourself, away from the fast-paced society... A moment to relax and unwind with a delicious and fragrant tea, a break for your mind and body^ ^ Delicious tea warms the heart and body♡ A little hidden gem, a place for a mental break. I found a wonderful shop♡ I'll definitely visit again♡ Thank you for the meal✧︎◝︎(*´꒳`*)◜︎✧︎˖

Around 3:30 pm on a Saturday in January, my companion and I were walking around Namba and Shinsaibashi, feeling tired and looking for a cafe. I remembered there was a tea shop in Shinsaibashi that I had been to before, where you could sit and enjoy your tea. As we searched, we found two tea shops, and the one we were looking for was not the first one we stumbled upon. I peeked inside and saw that they were selling tea, with a quiet space separated by a sudare curtain. It felt like a calm oasis in the midst of the bustling surroundings. The interior was dimly lit and had a stylish, bar-like atmosphere, with about 8 seats at the counter and a couple of tables for two. The person behind the counter brewed tea like a tea master. We decided to try their specialty, the "Totoya Set," which came with tea and a sweet treat called rakugan. I opted for a traditional Japanese sweet to go with my tea. The tea was truly delicious, perfectly brewed at just the right temperature. The sweet treat was uguisu mochi, which had a unique flavor similar to nori-flavored ohagi. It was so tasty that I finished it in no time. The name "Totoya" is derived from the word for tea, which can be read as "ten-ten-hachi-ten-hachi." Despite being located in the lively area of Shinsaibashi, this shop felt like a tranquil oasis where the noise faded away behind a single sudare curtain. The only downside was the lack of a place to store our belongings, as there was no designated space for bags. If I ever find myself in Shinsaibashi again, I would love to take a break and revisit this charming tea shop. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

I went to the "Totoya" shop in Namba, which I always visit when I'm tired. It is a Japanese tea specialty store that also offers traditional Japanese sweets. I ordered genmaicha (brown rice tea) and Yama-tsutsuji mochi. From the window, you can see the narrow streets, making you forget that you are right in the middle of Namba. While waiting in the relaxed atmosphere, my order arrived on a tray. I was pleased to see that there was hot water for refills. The tea, brewed in slightly warm water, had a soothing aroma that was very comforting. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

In our daily lives, green tea is something we can easily enjoy at home, but here you can truly taste delicious green tea. It is a serene space that is the complete opposite of the bustling atmosphere of Shinsaibashi-suji shopping street. Each cup is carefully brewed in a calm, traditional Japanese setting. How many people actually know the correct way to brew green tea? A carefully brewed cup of tea warms the heart. Today, I had Gyokuro Ten, a green tea, and matcha mousse. The tea was surprisingly smooth when I took a sip! It was so smooth that I even thought the "gyoku" in Gyokuro referred to the texture when you taste it. Why is it called Gyokuro? Perhaps because you can taste a smoothness like dew on a gem? If anyone knows, please tell me. The mousse was also rich in matcha flavor, as expected from a tea shop. Of course, it paired perfectly with the tea. It was truly delicious. Coffee is great, but these kinds of Japanese-style cafes are also wonderful. I will definitely come back (even though I've already been here many times, haha).

I went to see the "Houe Ekisha Procession" event to pray for prosperity in business during the "Tenjin Matsuri" festival! The procession, with 20 Houe Ekisha floats and a total of 500 participants, parades through the lively streets of Minami from Ebisu Bridge to Imamiya Ebisu Shrine, spreading a festive atmosphere with chants of "hoekago, hoekago~!" The procession includes geisha, Bunraku puppets, entertainers, athletes, and more, creating a very glamorous atmosphere. I was able to see the beautiful Fukumusume girls on Shinsaibashi-suji, and I have a feeling that this year will be a good one. Enjoy deep-steamed green tea with Japanese sweets, as well as winter blend tea with Japanese sweets, and various traditional Japanese sweets like Uguisu Mochi, Kyoto Tsubaki, Sasayuri, Yukiyanagi, Matcha Parfait, Hojicha Parfait, Matcha Tea, and Matcha Float at this tea shop.

Since I was a child, I have been familiar with this tea shop in Minami, as my mother used to take me for walks around Shinsaibashi. However, I had never actually been inside the shop until recently when I heard about the café through word of mouth. The staff at the tea shop kindly guided us to the café area. The café is run by two men, one of whom is a certified Japanese tea master who meticulously prepares each cup of tea, so it may take some time. Therefore, if you are in a hurry or easily get impatient, this may not be the best fit for you. Since it was still hot outside, I opted for the chilled green tea and warabi mochi set called the "Cool Refreshment Set" for 840 yen, while my child ordered the warm matcha zenzai dessert called "Yukiyangi". All the sweets were served with a side of tea, which was a nice touch. The chilled tea had a rich and lingering taste that was truly delicious. Even the astringency left at the bottom was enjoyable. Drinking delicious Japanese tea always makes me feel grateful to be Japanese. The matcha zenzai had just the right amount of bitterness and was very tasty. Despite being located in a tea shop, the café seemed to attract a younger crowd, with many patrons in their 20s and 30s, which was surprising. It's reassuring to see so many young people appreciating traditional Japanese culture. I can't wait to try the matcha parfait on my next visit!

I happened to try a sample while browsing around and came across "Sakura Tea" tea bags, 15 pieces for 1050 yen. The ingredients are green tea, cherry blossoms, and matcha (Tetra type). I realized afterwards that it's quite expensive compared to regular tea bags. I made it casually, but surprisingly, it's really delicious! The flavor of cherry blossoms and the sweetness of matcha! I would like to try having tea at a cafe next time.

Walking along the illuminated Midosuji Street during Christmas, you will come across this modest little shop. At first glance, it may appear to be a tea sales shop, but in fact, the back is a tea house where a delightful aroma wafts through the air. Initially, it was crowded inside, so I ordered a sencha from the three types of tea being sold for 200 yen, and sat on a cushion in the sales area, watching as the staff meticulously prepared the tea by pouring hot water and adding a splash of water - I thought, do they really go to such lengths to make one cup of tea? But when I received the cup and took a sip, the temperature was perfect, the aroma was delightful, and the smooth, velvety taste spread through my mouth, leaving a lingering sensation. Upon opening the tea bag, I realized that brewing it properly could result in such a delicious flavor. After waiting for a while, a seat opened up in the back, so I ordered the Winter Tea Story set. It came with tea and Japanese sweets, both of high quality, and indulging in them truly warmed my heart. It felt like a completely different world from the outside. If I were to offer a suggestion, it would be that the back space is small and tends to fill up quickly, especially with customers who take their time or come in groups. It would be nice if they could open up the second floor or set up small chairs in the aisle next to the shop, creating a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of an old tea house on a mountain pass, where you can enjoy tea and sweets. Oh, and it would be great if they provided a small teapot in that case, and served the sweets on paper. With the flu season approaching, having such Japanese tea shops, with their excellent sterilization effects, increase in number would be wonderful, not just sticking to coffee.
