On the first day of February, I started working at an office in Yodoyabashi. After work around 6 pm, I went to a teppanyaki restaurant called "Hanamaru-tei" for a night out. As a solo customer, I was seated at the counter seat on the first floor, where a large iron plate was right in front of me. I ordered a bottle of Asahi Super Dry beer for 583 yen and beef tendon stew for 704 yen. In the nice atmosphere of the counter seat, I enjoyed the Super Dry beer with the potato salad and beef tendon stew as appetizers. It was a great experience to drink in front of the iron plate, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. At first, there were not many customers, but as the night went on, more and more party guests arrived, and the iron plate became busier. Despite the busy situation with ordering, I managed to order a "Mega Highball" for 880 yen and beef offal yakisoba for 1,309 yen. Since the yakisoba on the iron plate takes a while to cook, ordering the huge Mega Highball in advance was the right choice. The beef offal yakisoba that was served after a while uses original noodles specially ordered from a noodle factory. The noodles had a firm texture and were delicious. The savory flavor of the beef offal had a nice junk food feel to it, which I quite liked. Since I had work the next day, I decided to stop ordering after this and was satisfied with the meal. The total bill for the appetizer, 2 dishes, and 2 drinks was around 4,000 yen. As expected in an office district, Osaka is still relatively pricey. Next time, I would like to visit for some quick okonomiyaki.

This is the street in front of Yodoyabashi Post Office. It's not often crowded here. There are many restaurants in this area that offer bento boxes. The dishes are cheap and sometimes have a unique twist. I decided to buy a bento box here. Although the neighboring Takotai was also an option, this place offers a wider variety of choices for rice and side dishes. I chose the Tonkatsu (590 yen) with mixed grain rice. The bento was warm when I bought it, but by the time I got home, it had cooled down. I decided to eat it as it is, believing that bento tastes better when eaten cold. The mixed grain rice had finely chopped carrots, burdock, and beef in it. The beef still tasted delicious even when cold. The side dishes included pickled vegetables, macaroni salad, boiled spinach, dried radish, and sweet potatoes in syrup. The pickled vegetables seemed out of place, but overall the bento was decent for its price. The Tonkatsu had a rich sauce that went well with the rice. The croquette was a bit tough to eat cold, but the spaghetti with a hint of garlic was a nice touch. Overall, the bento seemed to have some effort put into the main dishes and sides, despite being at an affordable price.

The yakisoba noodles here are unique and incredibly delicious! The Katsu yakisoba is exquisite! Among the other dishes, the thick fried tofu in ginger soy sauce and simmered beef sinew were very tasty! The okonomiyaki is fluffy and satisfying! The octopus and pork belly were also very delicious (^ ^) I plan to come back again!

The nearest Hanamaru Udon Awajicho store is currently closed. It's a large store spread underground, so the decision makes sense. This day, the street-level store with good ventilation was bustling. The first floor has a huge teppanyaki counter seat, and the second floor has table seats, with good seating capacity. I sat in a corner seat on the first floor, but it was tough. I didn't read the airflow well. Yes, I was downwind. Therefore, the flavors from cooking on the teppan hit me directly. The lunch menu offers set meals ranging from ¥800 to ¥900, and several curries made with crustacean extract. I ordered the classic one. Fried chicken set meal ¥800 Hanamaru Udon is known for its generous portions, and this store was no exception. A quite generous salad, bite-sized fried chicken (5 pieces), and even a croquette were included. Miso soup and pickles are a must, and of course, plenty of rice. The fried chicken had a well-seasoned taste and was delicious in a standard way. I could enjoy the first two pieces. I struggled with the third piece and beyond. I wanted to take the croquette home. Laugh. The lunch at this store is definitely for hearty eaters. If I were five years younger, it would be no problem. I'm so full. Next time, I'll definitely try the curry. Thank you for the meal.

Lunchtime. I visited "Okonomiyaki Sakaba Hanamarutei" for some delicious okonomiyaki. Since the first floor was full, I went up to the third floor. The restaurant has three floors and is spacious. I ordered the okonomiyaki set meal for 890 yen, which came with rice and miso soup. I sat at a table with a hot plate. The okonomiyaki was a bit on the smaller side but had a nice thickness to it. It was cooked well, not too fluffy. I really enjoy this type of okonomiyaki. It was a satisfying lunch, and the rice went well with it. Delicious! I will definitely come back again. I chose the yakiniku + rice set this time, which came with rice, miso soup, and a vegetable salad for 980 yen. This, this, the super spicy sauce! The super spicy sauce here is even spicier than the regular sauce, so as a spicy food lover, I really like the super spicy sauce here. I poured a generous amount of the super spicy sauce and then enjoyed it. It's spicy and delicious! Not just spicy, but you can also taste the rich umami flavor, which makes the rice go down easily. I went for a colleague dinner in Tokyo at night. When making a reservation to order a course, the manager suggested that ordering individual items would be cheaper and better, so we ordered individual items. With 3 people, we ordered 8 items, mainly beer, and ended up significantly exceeding the budget of 4000 yen per person. It was close to 6000 yen... Hmm, maybe it would have been better to order the all-you-can-drink course after all. Did I fall into the manager's strategy!?

After work, I went out with my colleagues. When it comes to Osaka, you think of okonomiyaki, but there's a great place in the office district that's perfect for entertaining. We stored our shoes on the first floor and headed up to the table seats on the third floor. The drinks and food came out quickly. Even though there didn't seem to be a kitchen on the third floor, their commitment to not making customers wait is impressive. The restaurant wasn't empty, but the staff were efficient. We started with typical appetizers, then moved on to grilled dishes, and finished with noodles. The location is convenient, close to the station, making it easy to get home. A great restaurant.
