There is a space to place bicycles and motorcycles slowly in front of the store. The entrance decoration is cute! There were various types of sweet bread and savory bread, but I was in the mood for a sandwich. The sandwich with crust was a little cheaper and I was happy. The fruit sandwich was a bit heavy on the cream. There were various other sandwiches, so I will try a different one next time.

Great location right by Marutamachi Station! Even in the evening, this convenience store offers a wide variety of affordable and delicious items. They accept credit cards too, which is convenient. It seems like soft bread is their specialty. I visited around 2 pm on a weekday and there was one customer before me and one after me. The store was constantly busy. [Food Ordered] - Half of a hard toast: ¥480 - Sweet potato: ¥190 - Black sugar black bean bread (half): ¥210 - Cod roe French bread: ¥220 Overall, this place offers reliable, everyday bread with no major surprises. It's a safe choice with good value for money. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal! (*´ω`*)

Next Hyakumeiten, located near Maruta-cho Station, has a rating of 3.55 (as of July 2023). The store has long operating hours and even in the evening, there are still plenty of products available, making it very convenient. They accept card payments as well! During a visit on a weekday after 5 pm, there were two other customers present. About two-thirds of the shelves were stocked with products, allowing for a good selection. It seems that soft bread is their specialty. [Items purchased]: Cheese roll ¥190, Salted black bean bun ¥180, Sweet potato pastry ¥190, Half portion of black sugar black beans ¥210. It's a miracle that most items were priced in the 100 yen range! The taste was also delicious. While there were no particularly unique items, the everyday breads were more than satisfying. I would definitely like to visit again. Thank you for the meal!

Black soybean black sugar bread ¥210 ◎ ○... The black sugar is swirled into the bread, giving it a slightly undercooked texture in the middle. However, the black soybeans in the middle are delicious. The bakery offers simple looking items like cookies and muffins. While the bread itself is good, there were some shortcomings, so I won't be revisiting ^_^;

Furian D's is a popular bakery with four locations in Kyoto. I visited the Karasuma store and was impressed by the stylish exterior and the delicious smell of freshly baked bread inside. They offer a wide variety of breads including sandwich bread, croissants, savory breads, and sweet pastries. The Bouchee au Sausage (230 yen) features a juicy sausage with mayo as a tasty accent. The popular Salt Bread (140 yen) has a buttery flavor with a nice touch of salt.

There are several Freandy's stores in Kyoto city, offering a variety of sandwiches, bread, side dishes, and French bread. This particular store I visited for the first time. I purchased a black bean and black sugar bread, which had a sweet aroma of black sugar and a consistent amount of black beans. It was reasonably priced at around 400 yen and highly recommended. I also tried the anpan, which was larger than usual with plenty of moist red bean paste inside. Lastly, I had a roll bread with coarse red bean paste, which was slightly sweet and made me feel happy. Thank you for the delicious food.

I visited this cafe that caught my eye as I passed by on my way to a cafe nearby. It is located along Ebigawa Street, southeast of Marutamachi station on the Kyoto Municipal Subway. The atmosphere of the shop is like a cozy local bakery in town. I purchased a croissant and a pain au chocolat. Both the croissant and pain au chocolat had a crispy outer layer and a fluffy, light inside with a slightly firm texture, and a decent amount of buttery flavor. They were delicious and safe choices when you want to buy bread around Marutamachi area.

Walking through the alleys of Marutamachi in Kyoto, a pleasant aroma fills the air - the smell of freshly baked bread. The source of this delightful scent is a bakery called "Friandises". With its stylish storefront, the bakery displays an array of delicious-looking bread. One that caught my eye was the curry bread - a crispy bread crust filled with a flavorful curry sauce that had a hint of sweetness. The chewy texture of the beef added a nice touch. The walnut bread, on the other hand, paired the crunchiness of walnuts with a subtly sweet oil on a soft bread dough, creating a harmonious combination. Each bread had a delicious and easy-to-eat quality to it, making them all enjoyable.

Went on a date with my wife to GW in Kyoto. Bought a hamburger that looked delicious when we last visited. [Summary] Tomato Hamburger 324 yen, about 80mm in diameter and 60mm in height, a large hamburger. Between the buns, there are thick slices of tomato, hamburger patty, parsley, shredded cabbage, sauce, and mayonnaise. The bun is very airy and doesn't feel heavy despite its size. The fresh tomato and juicy hamburger patty remain flavorful even when cold. The combination of sauce, mayonnaise, and shredded cabbage is great. The price is reasonable, much better than buying a burger from a mediocre place. Salt Bread 130 yen, about 35x25mm in thickness and 80mm in length. It's a bit firm because it was left for a day, but it's delicious with the sweetness and richness of butter, and the saltiness of the salt sprinkled on top adds a nice touch. Cream Cheese Cookie 436 yen, about 25mm in diameter and less than 10mm thick. The moment you bite into it, it's crispy, but the inside is slightly moist, giving it a half-baked texture. The flavor and sweetness of the cheese are subtle, making it easy to devour. It can last for about three weeks.

The bakery is open early in the morning and closes early, but this one is open from early morning until 7pm, which is convenient when you want to buy bread for the next day in the evening. I bought a hamburger at lunchtime and it was thick and filling. The sandwich options are also delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I finally had the chance to visit this bakery that I've been wanting to go to for a while. There were so many options to choose from, and after much deliberation, I ended up buying three items. Overall, the bread here is a bit dense and firm, so I think they specialize in hard bread. I saw some other items that I would like to try, so I hope to visit again soon.

This is a bakery located a few minutes' walk from Marutamachi Station in Kyoto. I found it while passing by. They have multiple stores in Kyoto. The Corn and Rice Flour Petit Bread (149 yen + tax) had more corn than expected and a simple, gentle taste from the rice flour. The Salt Bread (130 yen + tax) had a crispy surface with a strong salt flavor. The Mentaiko France (204 yen + tax) had a moderate amount of spicy cod roe sauce and a hint of butter flavor. The prices were reasonable, and I felt it's a good everyday bakery. I don't think it's worth traveling from other prefectures just to buy from here.

Located a 3-5 minute walk from Marutamachi Station, Bakery Flandez Uramu Store is a bakery with a convenient location on a corner right outside the station. They open early in the morning, making it easy to stop by before work. Their prices are relatively reasonable and they offer a variety of classic breads, making it a perfect spot for lovers of savory pastries. I purchased the popular curry bread and the Noir Series this time. The Noir Series, topped with large and sweet dark cherries, was delicious with its rich custard cream and the sweetness of the Danish pastry. The curry bread, fried to a crisp, was packed with the umami flavor of aromatic vegetables, delivering the classic deliciousness. Be sure to visit this bakery. Thank you for the meal!

This bakery seems to be bustling with activity. They have a few locations. - Melon Pan: 150 yen - Rusk: 220 yen - Cream Cornet: 220 yen The melon pan was delicious with a fragrant melon-flavored dough. The cream cornet had both whipped cream and custard inside, and the whipped cream was particularly tasty. The rusk was a bit sticky. Thank you for the meal.

I visited around 18:40 on Friday. There were no other customers. I tried the "ウッフ" for 176 yen, and it was delicious with a crispy texture. The Danish pastry here has a nice texture that I like. It wasn't too sweet, so it's more like a croissant dough than a Danish pastry. I also tried the "タマゴハムサンド" for 454 yen, which includes both egg and ham. It was tasty. The bread was soft and overall had a gentle flavor.

I stopped by before eating Japanese food nearby because I wanted some baguettes. It was around lunchtime and the place was quite crowded. I got a Peasant, a French bread made with natural yeast, for 310 yen. It was moist and flavorful. The Bâtard had a crispy crust on the outside, but the inside was just average in taste. Friandises seemed to mean sweet confections, so maybe that's the kind of shop they want to be. Indeed, there were many people buying pastries.

Today, I stopped by a bakery located south of the Kyoto Imperial Palace. FRIANDISE is a bakery that has several locations in Kyoto. The one I visited is the Karasuma store, located east of Karasuma Marutamachi. FRIANDISE means "gourmet" or "sweet treat" in French. I have visited their Nijo store before as well. Inside the store, there were many different types of bread displayed, including Christmas stollen. There were protective films placed in front of the bread display for COVID-19 prevention measures. I bought three different types of bread and tried them out: 1. Moan Dore: A bread with plenty of diced processed cheese inside. I heated it in the microwave and enjoyed the smooth and rich cheese flavor. 2. Ham Croissant: A croissant rolled with roast ham and mayonnaise. The ham and mayo filling was flavorful and the pastry was crispy. 3. Pain au Chocolat: A French pastry with chocolate inside. The Danish pastry had a crispy texture and a delicious chocolate flavor. I enjoyed trying out different types of bread at FRIANDISE, and I would love to visit again when I'm in the area.

There are a wide variety of soft breads such as shokupan, pastries, and sandwiches, making it difficult to choose. Among them, shokupan seems to be popular, as many customers reserve shokupan. The egg sandwich for 380 yen had a generous amount of egg and a satisfying heaviness. The seasoning on the cutlet was also delicious. The baguette for 310 yen, lightly toasted, had a crispy and crunchy texture that was irresistible. This is a shop that makes you want to try various types of bread.

Located south of Karasuma Street from Exit 7 of Marutamachi Station on the Kyoto Municipal Subway Karasuma Line, this shop is situated east on Ebigawa Street. It is a branch of a bakery founded in Kitaoji in 1991. The shop features a dark green sign and brown exterior. The bright interior exudes a chic atmosphere, with shelves filled with authentic bread. The "Pan Epi" is a long type of bread with a firm texture and bacon flavor. The "Cheese Roll" is generously filled with homemade filling and is delicious. This shop sets the standard for bakeries in Kyoto today.
