A small shop located near Kintetsu Higashi-Hanazono Station. The area in front of the station was clean and there wasn't much around, but I visited with a junior colleague who was with me in Osaka. We ordered eel rice bowls, which came with pickled radish and eel liver. It was my first time trying Kansai-style eel rice bowls, and the eel was crispy on the outside and delicious, while the rice was not too sticky and easy to eat. The shop had a nice atmosphere and seemed to be loved by locals.

My partner wanted to eat eel for lunch, so I asked Foodlog-sensei for recommendations and visited the restaurant. The restaurant is not very big, in fact quite small with only 3 tables, one of which is for solo diners. It is recommended to call ahead before visiting. The atmosphere is not that of a fancy eel restaurant, but more of a homey feel. We ordered eel rice bowl with eel liver and a bottle of Asahi beer. I prefer Asahi beer for its crisp and spicy taste. The eel liver was delicious, especially the tamagoyaki part which had a great flavor. The eel in the rice bowl was cooked just right, not too soft or too firm. The sauce was poured over the rice before serving, and although I prefer some white rice showing, the flavor was still enjoyable. The eel liver was also tasty. Despite the homely atmosphere, we were able to enjoy delicious eel at this restaurant.

The team's final game of the season is at Hanazono Rugby Stadium today. I hope they win! I decided to have eel as a pre-game meal. The grilled eel has a delicious aroma, crispy skin, tender meat with just the right amount of fat, and the sauce is amazing. The rice is not too strong in flavor, allowing the eel to shine. Eel is so delicious that you can't help but finish it in one go! I hope for a better season next time as I enjoy this delicious meal. I will definitely come back next season to watch the games.

We were seated at a table with two people each, as there were four of us visiting. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere with two tables for four people and a couple of tables for two. It seemed like the restaurant used to be mainly for takeout, as we were the only customers when we arrived, but the smell of grilling eel filled the air and added a lively vibe. We ordered the 2/3 portion of eel rice bowl for 3080 yen. It took about 20 minutes for our order to be ready. When it arrived, the eel pieces were packed tightly on the bowl and had a crispy texture from grilling. It was moist and had a great Kansai-style flavor. The sauce was on the lighter side and not too thick. The rice was already mixed with the sauce, which was a nice touch. It was really delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I felt like eating eel, so I went to an eel restaurant. It had been a while, so I ordered the top quality eel. It was made from a whole eel and the inside was fluffy and fragrant. It was delicious. I also tried the eel liver which was also very tasty. The eel was cut into easy-to-eat pieces. I shared this dining experience on my Google reviews.

The restaurant Kawauchiya is where my wife loves to eat una-don. Oh, today two business owners from the branch districts managed by Kawauchiya passed away. I have to write two condolences. I must not leave behind templates for congratulatory or condolence speeches, or application forms. Am I being mean? The replacement for the position still hasn't been decided. Kawauchiya became the youngest branch manager in the Osaka district and served for two terms, eight years. The person elected in the election declined! What's the point of having an election? Tomorrow, an emergency meeting will be held to select the next branch manager. Kawauchiya is actually quite angry. I'm sorry. I can't post this on Facebook, so I'm sharing it here. Back in 2012, during a special branch manager meeting in Kinki, the meeting was completely pointless. So, I wrote on Facebook, "Do you know what day it is today? It's the 1st anniversary of the Tohoku earthquake. It's a day for prayer, isn't it? Are you idiots? Just disappear!" I was calmed down by saying, "Branch manager, we understand your anger, but calm down," but this time, I can't stay quiet. I was probably reaching my boiling point due to that, so when my wife said, "I want to eat una-don," I decided to go. Just to clarify, I'm not a big fan of eel. But my wife probably sensed the tense atmosphere at Kawauchiya and wanted to lighten things up by saying, "I can eat another bowl!" I used my points to get one serving of una-don. I also ordered two una-don bowls, one una-maki roll, and one serving of una-liver. As delicious as always. When I got home, we had a good time. After finishing our meal, I was back in front of the PC. I've spent all these years like this. If, for some reason, we can't choose a replacement... Are you preparing for the worst-case scenario? Kawauchiya never evaluates people based on personal preferences. We all have people we don't get along with. But in an organization, we don't make decisions based on likes or dislikes. This time, it's not going well. I can't even eat una-don from Toyokawa-san.

The restaurant is an old establishment, and it seems like they have more takeout orders than dine-in customers. The atmosphere is more like a casual dining place rather than a fancy eel restaurant. The eel was delicious as usual. It was a bit disappointing that they had run out of grilled eel though.

The surface is crispy and the inside is moist. I'm impressed by how well it turned out. I think this is the first time I've had such delicious eel.

The area around this station has changed a lot compared to the past. The level crossing is gone, making it more convenient. I found out that Mr. Toyokawa has started a lunch service, so I visited for the first time in about 30 years. I don't remember the interior of the restaurant being like this. We ordered two servings of eel over rice, eel bowl, eel roll, and Hachiman roll. Even though I ordered one serving of eel roll, they kindly divided it into three plates for us. The egg was deliciously soft. The Hachiman roll had a nostalgic taste. Recently, some eel restaurants don't offer Hachiman rolls, but having it on the menu gives a sense of authenticity to the eel restaurant. The eel over rice arrived. The portion was generous, and at 2200 yen with liver sashimi included, it was a great deal. They are really working hard. Thank you very much. The service was also very polite. I will definitely go back again.

I lost a few times on Thursdays, but I finally made it! Delicious! The grilling, moistness, and the way it mixes with the sauce is outstanding! For an old man like me, the sauce may be a bit too salty for the rice.

The place is located 1 minute from Kintetsu Higashi-Hanazono Station in the direction of the rugby field. I ordered by phone and the staff was friendly and energetic. I ordered the eel rice bowl for 3,000 yen with liver. The way they mixed the rice and sauce was exquisite, and the eel was perfectly crispy and delicious.

I have never been a fan of eel since I was young! The only eel I will eat is the one from Oshika Bekkan in Kitashinchi! I still can't eat conger eel! However, as I have gotten older, I have had more opportunities to eat eel, and recently I have been able to eat it if it's good quality. So, how does the eel here that my food blogger friend says is "delicious" taste? "Yeah, it's delicious! I can eat it!" It's really tasty! But personally, I might prefer the pork belly made to look like eel in the unagi bowl. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal~♪

I had a reason to come to this place after a long time. And I felt like eating eel after a long time. I jumped into the restaurant right after it opened. The owner said, "The price has gone up since the beginning of this year, but is that okay with you?" to me. He said the same thing to other customers who came later and even to customers who called for reservations. He is such a humble person. Now, the dish I ordered after a long time was the same "grilled eel over rice" as last time. I will spare you the details about how delicious it was, but I felt happy from the morning.

I went to Kawachiya~ There was a big event on Sunday and I attended as a guest. I didn't join the celebration party and went straight to Tokyo. I wrapped up a meeting in the morning and returned to Osaka. Since my wife is still resting, I will go buy dinner after returning home. She said she wanted to eat eel again, so this time we went to Toyokawa in Higashi Hanazono. I mentioned that we visited the shop in Tomio and tried thinly sliced eel for the first time, and they said, "It's delicious, isn't it? It's sweet and tasty. We used to serve it in the past, and it was the most popular." This time, we bought two bentos for 2,200 yen each, two servings of grilled eel liver, and a bag of simmered eel liver. The bentos come in plastic containers, so they don't look great, but they taste delicious. It's also nice that they come with liver soup. Just warm up the broth and pour it into a cup. My wife initially said she wanted to eat about five servings of grilled eel liver, but buying five servings would be quite expensive, so I convinced her to settle for two servings. It's crispy and very delicious. My wife started eating grilled eel liver because of Toyokawa in Tomio. The grilled eel liver here is also delicious. My wife will participate in a high school girls' reunion in Nara at the end of the month. Every year, friends who scattered across the country from Kagoshima gather together. Last year, it was in Nagoya. She murmurs, "As a gift, eel with sansho pepper would be nice"... What should I do? Kawachiya...

We are the Kawauchiya couple who recently had "kinshi-don" and "una-don" at Kaneyo in Kyoto, but we didn't feel satisfied. So, we decided to try the eel from Toyokawa. The restaurant has downsized and now mainly focuses on takeout bento and delivery, but they recently added a few more seats inside, increasing from 8 to 10 seats. We always order the following: grilled eel liver x1, eel roll x1, and eel bowl x2. The liver takes a bit of time to cook, so we chat with the landlady while waiting, about 30 minutes. The eel roll is served in two portions. The liver comes as two pieces. They offered us separate plates, but we declined. The eel roll is delicious. The liver makes us crave for some alcohol, but we resist. The eel bowl is consistently delicious. The taste is just perfect. My wife looks very happy as she savors the food. The combination of rice, eel, and sauce is a perfect trio. The price of 2,200 yen for the eel bowl is quite cheap considering the quality of eel. Overall, we think it's a great value for such high-quality eel. As we've mentioned before, Tomio is an offshoot of this restaurant.

Here is "Unagi no Toyokawa" near Kintetsu Higashi-Hanazono Station in Higashi-Osaka City. It's been a while since I last visited. I always use this nearest station, and I noticed that it's now listed on Tabelog. When I mentioned Tabelog to the proprietress, she said, "Oh, that's why young people are taking photos here." It seems that the restaurant staff are not really aware of or concerned about Tabelog, just one of the many restaurants they run. "Unagi no Toyokawa" has been serving food inside the restaurant for about 6 years now, before that it was only for takeout. It used to be takeout for about 4 years... before that, you could eat inside the restaurant. In other words, for about 4 years it was only for takeout. This place has had loyal customers for a long time, so they also offer delivery. I ordered the "Unagi Don" with liver on top. It costs 1200 yen (tax included) as of September 2016. This is about one-third of an eel. The Unaju is half an eel, and the Tokujou Unaju is a whole eel. The price varies accordingly. It may look like an Unaju in the photo, but on the menu it's actually the "Unagi Don with liver." In Osaka, they skillfully grill the eel with the belly open, so the surface is slightly crispy, yet soft with thickness. The rice is also delicious. My preference is for no white parts and a well-distributed sauce. The liver is also satisfying. For those in their prime working years, this amount may not be enough, but for a solo diner like me, it's convenient. Also, the "Uramaki" here is delicious.

I visited this restaurant for the first time for lunch as I was nearby for work. The restaurant had only 3 table seats and was quite small. I ordered the eel rice bowl for ¥2,200, which came with eel, liver soup, and pickles. Considering the current high prices of eel, the portion size for the price was understandable. The eel was cooked in the Kansai style, but the sauce was in the Edo style and had a good balance of flavors. The liver soup was also delicious with a refined taste.

Kochiya-ya is located~ I returned from Chiba. It's no good. Today, I'm finally down. Yesterday, I made a terrible mistake, and it turned out to be something I didn't understand why I had arrived the day before. I'll share the details of this mistake later. Now, the wife of Kochiya-ya loves "eel". Previously, when she heard of a delicious eel restaurant, she would go to Tsu or Kameyama. However, after eating at "Toyokawa" in Tomio, she felt that there was no need to go all the way to Mie. I was overjoyed. However, unfortunately, the owner of Toyokawa in Tomio is not in good health, and the days when the restaurant is not open have increased. At that time, I received information from an acquaintance that "Toyokawa" in Higashi Hanazono might be related, and I visited immediately. Toyokawa in Tomio is a branch of this place. Here is the original. Eel roll. Liver skewers. Eel bowl. They are all really delicious. Also, the owner is good at talking. Not too pushy, not too neglectful, it's just right. There are 3 table seats for up to 10 people. It takes 20 minutes from ordering to grilling the eel. It's natural because it's worth the wait. Kochiya-ya believes that the eel here is more than enough. ================= Kochiya-ya is located~ This time, I got a takeout bento. It's a 2,200 yen bento, and it comes with liver sucking. This was a surprise. I immediately ate it when I got home. It's delicious as always. The wife and son are working hard at this shop. Please continue to do your best little by little. I love this kind of shop. ================= Kochiya-ya is located~ My wife loves eel. Even if we have a pretty intense fight, she cheers up with eel. Today, coincidentally, we talked about "Toyokawa" in Tomio. Kochiya-ya is a fan of "Toyokawa" in Tomio, but this shop here in Higashi Hanazono, just a 10-minute drive from Kochiya-ya's house, is said to be related to "Toyokawa" in Tomio. Tonight, I was thinking about a completely different dinner, but when I told my wife, she said, "Tonight, let's have eel at Toyokawa!" and it was decided in one word. The shop is located on the north side of Higashi Hanazono Station. It's on the northeast side of the rotary. There is plenty of coin parking at the station. Visit at the time of posting on Tabelog: 3.04 Number of followers' visits: 2 people Open the double doors. There are two four-person tables and one two-person table. It's full with 10 people, but I think it's unexpected. When Kochiya-ya said, "We'll eat," the owner made a slightly puzzled expression. Maybe this shop is mainly for takeout or delivery. But there is also alcohol on the drink menu posted in the store, so they must have some customers who come to eat... The owner probably understood that we were the first-time customers, so she probably thought we were customers taking out bento, so... that's fine. That's okay. We were asked if we wanted hot or cold tea. There are actually quite detailed considerations in the service. Liver skewers grilled 900 yen Umaki 800 yen Eel bowl 2,200 yen x 2 All prices include tax. "We'll need a little time," they said. It's okay, if eel came out right away, it would be the opposite. The skewers came out first. It's been 20 minutes since we ordered. It smelled amazing. I'm looking forward to it. Liver skewers and umaki are served next. We share the two skewers. My wife likes eel but doesn't eat liver skewers. However, at Hatsune and Unafuji, and at Toyokawa in Tomio, she eats them. They are skewered and grilled. The taste of the sauce is indescribable. Next is the eel roll. They cut it into two and serve it on separate plates. And this eel roll is also delicious. When you eat the eel inside the roll, the expectation for the eel bowl increases. "Here you go~" The eel bowl for 2,200 yen is brought to the table. I open the lid. The nice smell of eel fills the air. It's exquisite. It's blissful. I cut a piece with my chopsticks. When I put it in my mouth, first there's a crispy texture, followed by a fragrant taste. Then, when you chew, there's a softness that is fluffy. The perfect combination with the sauce. My wife says, "
