On December 4, 2022 (Sunday), I visited Jolipa Chokkata Store for the first time in response to my daughters' request. We ordered four dishes: "Oven-baked Cheese Pasta with Himeji oysters and grilled bacon (1,529 yen)", "Salmon and salmon roe with spicy cod roe cream (1,144 yen)", "Rich grilled spicy cod roe (1,034 yen)", and "Fettuccine Carbonara (1,144 yen)". In our family, there is an unspoken rule that if other family members order different dishes, we share a little with each other. We tried each dish to compare. The limited-time "oven-baked cheese pasta" was hot with plump oysters! It had a generous amount of cheese and was quite filling! Highly recommended. The other pastas were also delicious, but the "rich grilled spicy cod roe" had a Japanese-style flavor that I particularly liked. However, the price range for the pasta is mostly over 1,000 yen (>_<), which feels a bit high. The lunch menu on weekdays is mostly under 1,000 yen, so I recommend that instead.

The dessert using chestnuts in autumn was amazing! The center was a slightly firm custard, not too hard which was good. The chestnut ice cream, berries, and the balance of sweetness and acidity were perfect! The crepe wrapping wasn't just for decoration, it had a nice chewy texture. The loose cream drizzled over everything added a nice touch. If I had to say one thing, the chestnut ice cream in the menu photo looked bigger. Joripaa has some great desserts!

It's been a while since I had Jolly Pasta (*^◯^*) and this was my first time at this particular location in Chikugo. The entrance door at Jolly Pasta is surprisingly heavy, haha. I went for lunch and it was not crowded. I ordered the seafood peperoncino with oil-based sauce. The portion seemed smaller and less satisfying compared to before. The shrimp was okay, but overall, the dish felt a bit lacking. The garlic was also not very strong. I also had the mushroom salad with balsamic vinegar dressing, which was a bit lacking in salt and bacon. Maybe I should have just ordered the Bismarck pizza. If I continue to feel underwhelmed like this, I might not go back again. Thank you for the meal (*^^*)
