Mont Blanc Basque for ¥750, coffee for ¥550. The Mont Blanc cream had no chestnut flavor at all. The Basque cheesecake was okay, with a hint of Earl Grey flavor, but I couldn't taste the cheese richness. There was also a strange layer on top of the cheesecake that I couldn't quite identify - not chocolate, not sponge, just a tasteless mystery layer. The chestnuts were likely Chinese sweet chestnuts. Overall, the cake was bland and lacked flavor. It seemed more about appearance than taste, a typical case of style over substance.

I went to Cafe Seukon in Kitahama! When you go up the stairs to the 3rd floor, you will find a surprisingly cute and lovely space. You need to find a seat first and then place your order. The ordering system is divided into upper and lower sections, with self-service desserts in the lower section and prepared desserts in the upper section. It's a one drink per order system. After much deliberation, I decided to order the peach Charlotte cake available until the end of August. I also ordered the bear soda (peach) which was incredibly cute and delicious. The bear soda, poured into the soda, creates a cute scene of the bear half-soaking in the bath. Personally, I enjoyed the soda water as it was clear and refreshing. The bear soda had a milky and vanilla-like taste, similar to cream soda. It goes well with melon flavor. There are four flavors to choose from: Blue Hawaii, Melon, Peach, and Pine. Many people also come before or after idol concerts and choose their favorite color. The peach Charlotte cake was delicious with a subtle sweetness, perfect for the peach season. Cafeseukon is a sister store of the popular Cafe "coucouamande" in Nakazakicho, and they opened a Brunch and Cafe called "SUMMERWINE" in Kitahorie on 3/8. The store is located on the 3rd floor with access via external stairs or an elevator. When I arrived, there were 4 people waiting outside. After waiting in line, I entered the store after disinfecting my hands with alcohol at the entrance and getting permission for taking photos. The unique scones and cakes were displayed. I ordered the matcha Basque cheesecake and kumasodamelon. The total bill was 1,600 yen. The kumasodamelon had a bear-shaped ice cream on top, and the staff mixed carbonated water and melon syrup separately, instructing me to enjoy it. The matcha Basque cheesecake was beautifully decorated with tulips on the side, perfect for spring. It had a rich matcha Basque cheesecake base, topped with light mascarpone cream and strawberries. The staff kept placing cute scones and cakes on the counter one after another, so you can choose from them. The butter scones and Earl Grey were self-served where you pick a plate and use tongs to take, while other cakes were served by the staff. This time, I ordered Earl Grey scones and coffee. They brought it to me quickly in about 3 minutes. The scone was crispy and not too dry, with a soft Earl Grey flavor that was very delicious! The cream in between also had an Earl Grey flavor and was delicious! It's a bit big so it's a little hard to eat, but it looks cute and tastes great, so I'm very satisfied! After passing through the Mint Bureau, I headed to Nakanoshima Park to Yodoyabashi. I searched for a place to have tea nearby and found this place. The shop is located on the 3rd floor of a building and can be a bit hard to find. You can only enter through the elevator, so it feels a bit intimidating to just walk in. I visited on a weekday at 3 pm. There were two groups of customers inside. You order and pay at the counter, and they bring your items to your table. Water is self-service. I ordered the Strawberry Cream Cheese for 620 yen and the Blend Coffee (iced) for 500 yen. They told us, "We have a 90-minute time limit for seating," and I wondered if it gets that crowded. Right after we entered, a group of 6 and a group of 3 came in. Then two more groups arrived, and the place quickly became full. There was even a line forming when we left. The scones look cute but taste average. However, they are very popular among young people due to the Korean trend and Instagrammable appearance, so us older ladies felt a bit out of place.

It's a very cute Duck Wars specialty store in Nakazaki-cho. We were able to get in around 14:00 on Friday with a 30-minute wait. The seating is limited to one hour, so the turnover was quick. We couldn't take the cake to go, so we had it at the cafe. The cakes looked cute with a Korean vibe. It was popular among high school girls, and I thought it was trendy. We took the Duck Wars to go. It was delicious and good value for money, so I plan to visit the cafe again.

Last year, a popular Korean-style cafe called cafeseukon opened in Nakazakicho. I found out that they are also affiliated with a duck waffle specialty shop called coucouamanda. I once tried to visit on a holiday but gave up due to the long line. This time, when I went in the evening, it was less crowded. Even though about 80% of the items were sold out, I managed to try some. The counter had cute Korean-style scones lined up, which unfortunately were mostly sold out. I guess it's understandable at this time of day. You order at the counter and they serve the items to your table. I tried the Double Chocolate scone, which was a chocolate scone with chocolate on top, perfect for chocolate lovers. It was a bit crumbly but moist and delicious. I also had the Strawberry Aid, where you pour carbonated water over strawberries in strawberry syrup. The carbonated water made with Yamazaki natural water made it taste even better. Another affiliated store of this place, SUMMARWINE, a brunch cafe, is set to open in Horie on March 11th. They are currently in a pre-opening phase and I'm really looking forward to trying it out. The sweets in the store were all cute and everyone kept taking pictures, making it hard to eat right away. Since I came all the way here, I tried both the scones and cakes.
