After work, I went for a quick drink. The bar I visited that day was Standing Bar Tanakaya, located just a short walk from Minamitsukiji Station. It's a cozy standing bar where you pay at the counter before ordering. I started with a highball and ordered a plate of assorted dishes for 500 yen, which included edamame, garlic bread, bacon and spinach quiche, white asparagus tempura, and roast beef. The roast beef was my favorite. I also had thick-cut bacon with black pepper for 500 yen, which was delicious. I paired it with another highball and some potato chips for 250 yen. The crispy cartilage karaage for 350 yen was a nice snack. I then switched to Maker's Mark on the rocks and enjoyed some freshly made popcorn for 300 yen. Finally, I had the tomato cream pasta with crab for 1150 yen, which was surprisingly good for a standing bar. It was a fun and enjoyable drinking session, and I look forward to coming back for more. Cheers! 🥂

I went to a restaurant that had caught my eye on a regular night. The restaurant I visited that day is called Standing Bar Tanakaya, located just a short walk from Minami-Tatsumi Station on the subway. It is a hidden gem of a standing bar. Upon entering the restaurant, I found the space to be spacious and comfortable. This place operates on a cash-on-delivery style, where you put money in a container to place your order. The drink menu offers a variety of options, including wine and sake. I ordered a Highball and Plain Chuhai to start. Cheers! Moving on to the food, I ordered a platter of 5 items for 500 yen. It included Bacon and Spinach Quiche, Roast Beef with Shimeji and Komatsuna, Cod Roe Stir-Fry, Cheese Potato Stick Fries, and Garlic Baguette. It was nice to be able to try a little bit of everything, and everything was delicious. I also had a Johnny Walker Black Label Highball and a glass of white wine. I then tried the Charcoal-Grilled Chicken Thigh Steak, which was simple yet delicious with a crispy and savory outer layer seasoned with salt. Next, I had the Yakisoba with a rich sauce and plenty of pork. Finally, I ordered a Margherita pizza, which was made from scratch and took about 30 minutes to prepare. It was topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and basil, and was my favorite. With a satisfied stomach, I enjoyed the relaxed standing bar style with plenty of space to enjoy drinks. The food was delicious, and I look forward to coming back again. Cheers!

From the outside, it may seem intimidating to enter, but once you do, it's no problem at all. Despite being a standing bar, the quality of the food is high. Everything is cheap and delicious. In addition to the regular menu, there are daily specials, so you could go every day. Even on weekdays, it's bustling with customers. There is also a wide variety of drinks, including many trendy craft beers.
