On a regular day, during lunchtime while out on the road, I decided to visit a ramen shop that caught my eye near the Fukuoka Freight Terminal Station. The shop is called "Hakata Men-Oh" Hakozaki Port Store. "Hakata Men-Oh" has branches in Fukuoka and nearby areas, as well as in Saga, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Oita, and Okinawa. Although I had seen their signboards many times before, I had never actually been inside. Since it was my first visit, I decided to go for something more basic and ordered the All Toppings Ramen (990 yen) with regular tonkotsu broth and the lunchtime limited Half Fried Rice (180 yen). When the dishes arrived, the ramen was topped with green onions, bean sprouts, char siu, soft-boiled egg, and seaweed. The soft-boiled egg was flavorful, and the char siu was marinated in a special sauce for three days, giving it a rich taste. The tonkotsu broth was made only from pig skulls and the broth was extracted from kombu. The creamy texture and smooth finish were impressive, with a good aftertaste. The noodles were thin and had a nice texture that complemented the broth well. Overall, I found the ramen to be appealing to a wide range of people, especially families with children. They even have a kids' ramen menu, so it seems like they are targeting that demographic as well. Despite some low ratings on "Tabelog," I personally think the negative reviews are unwarranted.

I had been passing by this restaurant frequently for work and finally had the chance to visit during lunchtime today. It was my first time, so I chose ramen and half fried rice. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but both dishes were just average, neither good nor bad.

I think I probably won't go there again. The interior of the restaurant is dirty, not the typical old-fashioned place run by an old man, but genuinely dirty. The kitchen also seemed lacking in motivation. I was hoping that a place like this would have confidence in its taste, but it turned out to be disappointing. The ramen that came out was not delicious at all. I don't like criticizing taste, but personally, both the taste and atmosphere didn't make me want to come back. I was considering giving a rating of 1, but the only saving grace was the good service from the waitress, so I'll give it a 0.5+ for that. The waitress in the dining area was the redeeming factor of the restaurant.

I had black ramen! It's a bit strong in flavor, which I like! Surprisingly, the soup doesn't leave a lingering taste in your mouth, so you can drink it easily haha. The chashu was tender and the seasoned egg was a nice touch, very satisfying! The half-fried rice had a flavorful char siu, which paired well with the black ramen, but it felt a bit heavy together. Next time, I want to try the regular ramen or the tantanmen!

Sometimes, when I feel like having a strong flavored ramen, I come here haha. I recommend the black ramen! Ohhhh!? I wonder why the reviews are low though... I personally like the black ramen because it's rich, so I always order that here! My girlfriend ordered the tantanmen, I think... it was just okay. For those who prefer lighter flavors, maybe try a different menu item! The marinated egg is delicious too, can't go wrong with that!!! And the half fried rice is cheap!!! The half fried rice, tantanmen, no photos! The staff is also very friendly!!!

The ramen I tried during the campaign was half price, but it was quite ordinary. Even at half price, it was around 320 yen including tax. I think the ramen at the nearby Ramen Zen offers better value for money. I probably won't visit this place again, even when it's half off.

Forbidden half fried rice. Hako-saki Futo "Hakata Men-Oh" November 11, 2018 NEW! Theme: Fukuoka City Higashi-ku. The weekend continues with events almost every week since October. This time, the venue was Island City. However, after finishing around noon, I decided to return to the office to work. On the way, I stopped by "Hakata Men-Oh" in Hakozaki Port. I wasn't specifically aiming for this place, but it was convenient with parking available. I ordered ramen as usual. It was not bad, just normal. The noodles were firm. And this shop offers a service during lunchtime - half fried rice for 130 yen. I couldn't resist and indulged in the fragrant soy sauce fried rice. I ended up eating a lot of carbohydrates. I need to control myself for dinner.

Before heading to the Light Motor Vehicle Association, I stopped by here for the first time. I knew there was something here since the days of Hifumi Shokudo, but now it's a ramen shop. The prices are reasonable, and I got a set with half fried rice.

There was a limited-time fish soup ramen on the menu. It was my first visit, and even though I hesitated a bit, as a fish lover, I ended up ordering it. After a short wait, the ramen was served. I started eating and hmm, the taste was like sucking on the head of a shrimp? (laughs) Maybe it's something that people who like it, really like. I won't deny it! (laughs) I won't fully agree either! (laughs) Thank you for the meal. I'm sorry. Thank you.

The other day, on my way back from work, I stumbled upon a ramen shop that I didn't know existed! It used to be called "Hifumi Shokudo," but now it has turned into a ramen shop. I was feeling hungry, so I decided to give it a try. The interior of the shop was new, and there was a space for children, making it suitable for families with small kids. Since I was alone, I sat at the counter. They offered free spicy pickled vegetables. I saw black ramen on the menu and ordered it right away! The ramen was thick and rich, more like a strong flavor, with curly noodles. It reminded me of Kumamoto ramen. I would recommend this place for those who want to enjoy ramen leisurely with kids.
