I set a rule to have at least two rest days per week, but it's only the second week and I'm already facing a problem. I decided not to drink on slow days, but now there's only one slow day instead of the usual two. When I suggested going out for ramen, my partner seemed surprised. I guess they thought I would say no, considering how I've been avoiding alcohol. But it's fine, even without alcohol. The ramen place we went to didn't have beer, which was a bit disappointing. I usually prefer ramen with back fat, while my partner prefers it with dried fish. It felt like the absence of beer made the meal longer. Despite the delicious ramen, something felt off. I used to dislike ramen with back fat, but now I wonder if it's because I'm not drinking.

I ordered the strong boiled fish ramen, with a note that first-timers are not recommended. If you like boiled fish, there is nothing to fear. The moment it was served, the aroma of boiled fish filled the air. The rich, flavorful soup paired perfectly with the noodles and was very delicious. The restaurant has high chairs, tables, and tatami seating, making it easy to visit even with children.

The dried fish flavor is noticeable, but compared to Aomori's dried fish ramen, it is more subtle. The soy sauce is well balanced with the dried fish, creating a basic flavor of dried fish ramen. The amount and flavor of the lard are also subtle, and it is not necessary. The noodles are curly like those from Nishiyama Seimen. Adding green onions is recommended, but the sliced green onions are not cooked and do not go well with the ramen, making it spicy. More creative additions like white leeks are needed. Overall, the ramen lacks distinctive features or impact.

I'm leaving Abashiri. I think I've been here for about a year since I first came across the ramen stamp rally flyer. (I also saw it in a magazine around that time.) I love dried fish, so this might be delicious. I mustered up the courage to visit the shop, and there were no flavor options. Just regular or strong dried fish. I started with the regular one, and it opened up a whole new world for me. I couldn't quite pinpoint the flavor (probably soy sauce-based). The dried fish was strong. The noodles had a strong wheat flavor. Maybe I'm just not well-versed, but it was truly a taste I had never experienced before. Later, I tried the strong dried fish, and it had more viscosity, definitely tasting like dried fish, but the regular dried fish flavor suited me better. They also have tsukemen and limited menu items, but I haven't tried them. I always order the grilled meat rice set. I also order a flavored egg. I split the flavored egg, having half with the ramen and half with the grilled meat rice. It's better to have the flavored egg and grilled meat rice together. I visited about once a month. Sometimes it tasted light, sometimes strong. The chashu was sometimes tender, sometimes a bit tough. It could be cold in winter (during the corona period, the windows were open), and occasionally I ordered a beer. Ramen is indeed complex. I visited today. I arrived just before opening, and I was the first in line, but customers quickly started arriving. It's a popular shop, especially right after opening, it fills up quickly, so if you're late, it might be better to wait a bit. Today, I had the dried fish ramen, flavored egg, and grilled meat rice. Last week, I visited too, but the flavor felt a bit light. How will it be today, I thought as I took my first sip of the soup, but today it had a strong flavor. The usual, indescribable, complex taste. I think I should savor it since it might be the last time, but as usual, I finished eating quickly. As I was leaving the shop, I thought about expressing my gratitude, but the next customer was already at the ticket machine. Well, I better leave quickly. The seats are full. The parking lot can only fit 6 cars and fills up quickly. You can't park next to someone else. The shop will get mad. If you like dried fish, definitely try it. Highly recommended. I will visit again if I have the chance to come back to Abashiri. It's goodbye for now. Thank you for everything. Until we meet again.

I love this flavor. My husband and I often go there. The dried bonito is strong but not fishy, and once you get hooked on this taste, you'll want to eat it regularly like an addiction. The chashu pork is also firm and satisfying. I've been going there for a long time, and I can tell that the manager is always gentle and has a very good personality. I also thought their commitment to the dried bonito was wonderful (sorry for eavesdropping and listening in haha). The staff, both male and female, are kind, and I wish I could have worked at a place like this when I was a student. If you like dried bonito ramen in Hokkaido, this is definitely the place to go.

This time, I had spicy ramen with a seasoned egg topping. It was stimulating and delicious! I love spicy food! The tsukemen and shoyu ramen with niboshi broth are also delicious! The chashu is good! The seasoned egg is good! I'm glad there is a authentic ramen shop called "Uchoten" in Abashiri. I will definitely go there many times in the future.

(Recorded on August 28, 2022) I visited this restaurant in the late afternoon on a holiday in late July 2022. I was planning to take a flight back to Haneda at 8:00 PM, and during the day, I had been exploring the areas of Monbetsu and Kitami. Around 5:00 PM, I was looking for a place to have a light meal near Abashiri, but it was a bit of a challenge to find something suitable. I remembered the delicious ramen I had at "Ramen Darumaya Abashiri" before, but decided to try a new place this time. - Where is the restaurant located? The restaurant is located in a residential area about a 15-minute drive from Abashiri Station. If coming from Abashiri Station, you can take Route 683, or if coming from Keidai Station, you can take Route 490 and turn left at the park (Shiomidai Green Park) and continue for about 200 meters on the left side. There is parking space for six cars in front of the store, so it is convenient for those arriving by car. - How crowded was it and what was the atmosphere inside the restaurant? During my visit, it was a weekend but not crowded around 5:00 PM, so I was able to enter without any wait. The restaurant opened in 2017 and has a modern and stylish interior. There are about 6 counter seats, 4 tables for 4 people, and 2 raised tatami tables for about 6 people each, with a total capacity of around 20 people. There were two groups of customers already seated, and only one more person arrived during my visit. It seemed that if you come early on weekends, it is not likely to be crowded. - What are the recommended menu items? This restaurant specializes in dried fish ramen, so I ordered the "Dried Fish Ramen (800 yen)" simply as recommended. My companion was considering tsukemen due to the hot weather, but ended up choosing the "Back Fat Ramen (850 yen)." There are also spicy ramen, abura soba, additional toppings, and rice dishes on the menu, so there is a wide variety to enjoy. Orders are placed using a ticket machine at the entrance of the store. - Summary I tried the dried fish ramen at this "dried fish ramen specialty store" in Abashiri, Hokkaido. The soup had a clear taste with a slight bitterness and a strong flavor of dried fish, which may appeal to those who like a wild taste and the generous layer of oil on the surface. The back fat ramen, on the other hand, had a more approachable taste with a good volume. When I arrived around 5:00 PM on a holiday, the chashu was already sold out, which made sense given its size and volume. Next time, I would like to try the dried fish tsukemen with chashu topping. I finally had the chance to visit a restaurant I had been curious about in Abashiri. I arrived at 1:30 pm with only one customer already there and no one else waiting. To start, I purchased a ticket for the Ame-ni-amen ramen with seasoned soft-boiled egg for 900 yen to confirm the basics. The various ingredients took about 10 minutes to arrive, and the scent of the soup was not overpoweringly fishy. When I tasted the soup, it wasn't overwhelming with a strong fishy taste, but rather had a mild flavor. I didn't notice any bitterness or unpleasant fishiness that others had mentioned. The soup seemed like it could be enjoyed not only by anchovy enthusiasts but also by a wide range of people. The noodles were springy and chewy, with a satisfying texture, possibly made with "Haru yo koi" noodles, in a medium-thin straight style. There were three slices of chashu pork, about 5-6mm thick, which were nicely seared, juicy, meaty, and tender. The bamboo shoots also seemed to be seared. The soft-boiled egg had a firm white and a slightly firm yolk. Although it didn't have as much anchovy flavor as I expected, I was satisfied with the delicious bowl of ramen. Thank you for the meal.

While driving north in my car, I decided to stop for lunch at this place. In a quiet residential area on the outskirts of Abashiri, I managed to slide my car into the only available parking space. I purchased the Niboshi Ramen for 800 yen from the ticket machine. I sat at the counter and waited for a bit. When the ramen bowl arrived, the aroma of niboshi filled the air. Upon tasting it, I could sense not only the richness of the niboshi but also the depth of other flavors in the broth. This was not your typical ramen that simply highlights the niboshi flavor. The soup was piping hot, and just when I thought it might be too intense, the noodles provided a firm and unique texture, showcasing the originality of this shop's ramen. It was satisfying to find such delicious ramen in Abashiri, a place where you wouldn't expect it. Even the burp after the meal tasted strongly of niboshi. (Apologies for the rudeness.)

It's a business trip. The soba shop I wanted to go to for a long time is no longer there. The western-style restaurant I haven't been to in a while is closed. My companion had never been there before, so we decided to revisit. I had the "Back Fat Ramen" for 800 yen. The clear broth with dried bonito was delicious, but the rich back fat added a nice depth to the flavor. The seared chashu was flavorful and delicious, and the perfectly cooked noodles were also delicious as always. I might like this place even more than before. I definitely want to visit again when I come back to Abashiri. Next time, I might try the "Back Fat Tsukemen"! Thank you for the meal.

I ordered the recommended light special dried fish ramen! I bought a ticket at the vending machine and headed to my seat, but it was past 1:00 PM, so the owner politely asked, "I'm sorry! We are out of rice dishes, is that okay with you?" I thought the owner was very polite (*'▽'*). The noodles were very delicious, and the toppings of seasoned egg, chashu, and bamboo shoots were all to my liking (*´ω`*). It was a very delicious dried fish ramen. Next time, I want to go try the recommended rich pork broth ramen and the rice dishes!

I tried the dried fish ramen because it's not very common. I'm not a fan of the Aomori-style ramen with visible fish scales floating in it. I ordered the ramen with thick broth and pork fat. The soup base is made from dried fish, so it's light and easy to eat. My husband loves dried fish ramen. It was a delicious restaurant.

Visited Abashiri for the first time in March 2022. Please do not judge me based solely on my appearance, as I am not incarcerated or have completed a prison sentence. I had seafood bowl for breakfast in Obihiro and then headed to Abashiri, where I went shopping at Kozushi and planned to have lunch somewhere highly rated. I decided to try "Niboraamen Uchoten," a popular ramen shop. When I arrived before opening, there was no one waiting, but as soon as the curtain was raised, people started coming in from all directions. I chose the ramen with dried fish and pork fat, thinking it would be easier to eat with the added fat. The ramen had a strong dried fish taste and a sharp soy sauce flavor that was a bit too intense for my taste. The noodles were firm and to my liking. The pork belly chashu was thick and delicious, but the wonton skin was bland and not very satisfying. I felt that the soup could have been a bit milder with more pork fat to balance it out. Overall, I think people who give this shop a high rating may not prefer the hearty tonkotsu ramen from the day before. I, personally, have enjoyed other dried fish ramen in the past, but it seems that taste preferences vary from person to person.

I visited the restaurant for the first time on Saturday evening. I ordered the special simmered sardine ramen for 1050 yen. The flavor was a combination of sardines and pork fat, with no miso, salt, or soy sauce options. The sardine flavor was rich, and the char siu was thick and delicious as it was seared.

Boiled dried fish ramen (hot serving) with pork dumplings and char siu topping. I always rely on this familiar shop for lunch. The broth made from dried fish has a delicious flavor that I love. The local "Haruyoko" noodles from Okhotsk are chewy and fragrant. The char siu topping is a great deal with 3 thick slices of seared pork belly for only 250 yen. The pork dumplings are soft and a must-have topping. Highly recommended. To order the pork dumpling topping, purchase menma for 100 yen from the ticket machine and then request "with pork dumplings" when ordering. After finishing the noodles, mix the remaining broth with the hot water used for the noodles and enjoy it as a soup. If it's not a hot serving, ask for a soup refill.

It was drizzling rain. I had planned to stay in for the night from the beginning, but this rain... (>_<) However, I couldn't go to a nearby izakaya due to self-restraint, and I really wanted to eat there after being stood up once. So, I decided to go for it. I walked there for my diet, and it was quite tough as it was uphill on the way there! After some hesitation, I finally arrived after 7 pm. - Shio Ramen with simmered dried sardines: 750 yen - Bottled beer: 500 yen - 3 kinds of toppings: 300 yen First, I had a snack. Char siu, menma, egg, and green onions were the toppings for ramen, and I had them on a separate plate. The char siu was deliciously fragrant! I prefer menma to have a slightly sweeter flavor. The egg was perfect! It was my first beer in a while since Sapporo was in self-restraint, and I drank it all at once. I left about half and used it as a topping for the ramen. The simmered dried sardine soup was tasty without any fishy taste. I was imagining a clearer soup, but this ramen had a strong soy sauce flavor. The low-hydration noodles were delicious, it had been a while since I had firm noodles. It was my first time dining in a restaurant in a while, and I was very satisfied to have delicious ramen. If I have the chance, I would like to try it with extra lard! Thank you for the meal (^o^)

- Boiled fish ramen 750: Light and clear soup with a straight, clear throat sensation. - Back fat dipping noodles 850: The noodles are the same as ramen, but the soup is different from typical dipping noodles with a unique back fat flavor. Despite the presence of back fat, it is surprisingly light and salty, and when mixed with the noodles, a pleasant acidity comes through. - Cold boiled fish ramen 850 (Extra large 100): The clear boiled fish broth was the most straightforward and the acidity was unexpectedly subdued, making it reminiscent of cold Chinese noodles. - Rice 150: The best dish was the back fat dipping noodles, which I believe offers a taste that cannot be found elsewhere.

I want to heal my tired body from the busy work... Let's have some delicious ramen. In that case, I recommend "Uchoten"! So, I arrived at the restaurant. It's 11:10 and the parking lot is almost full. I bought a meal ticket at the vending machine. I'm tempted by the cold noodles, but I think I'll stick with the usual today. The counter seats are nicely spaced out. Soon, the ramen arrives. The seared chashu and seasoned egg, combined with the flavor of dried sardines, are delicious. I quickly finish the noodles and order a second serving. Finished eating, finished the soup. Thank you for the meal.

This is my second visit. The restaurant is open from noon until night on weekends. I came because I suddenly got hungry at a strange time. Despite it being past 2 o'clock in a residential area, there are several cars parked. There were three groups of customers - families, couples, and solo diners. It seems to be a popular and stable restaurant. Last time, I had the dried fish ramen. My husband loves it. I prefer something a bit milder, so this time I went with the pork broth to balance it out. My husband opted for the spicy ramen. The noodles are thin, so we asked for them to be cooked firm. The interior of the restaurant is clean. Well, the smell of dried fish is quite strong. I prefer the pork broth over the dried fish. The chashu is tender, seared on one side, and fragrant. Here we have green onions. The spicy ramen has a scent of Sansho pepper. It comes with leeks. I'm not a fan of Sansho pepper, so I added the vinegar that came with it. Thank you for the meal!

I was feeling a bit hungry so I looked up a restaurant on Tabelog and decided to visit Shiretoko. I purchased the Niboshi (dried baby sardine) ramen for 750 yen from the ticket machine. At first glance, it looked like a regular bowl of ramen, but when I lifted the noodles, the aroma of dried baby sardines hit me. It wasn't a bad smell, but rather an elegant one. The soup seemed to be carefully prepared. The chashu was thick and satisfying. I ended up getting a second helping of noodles. The interior of the restaurant was very clean and had a nice atmosphere. The owner was also very polite and provided good service. It was delicious!

I am on a business trip to Abashiri. I heard a rumor that there is a specialty store in Abashiri that serves delicious authentic dried fish broth ramen, so I am heading there after finishing my work. The store is located in Abashiri City, Choumi 10-chome. I am not familiar with the area, so I am using navigation to get there. I arrived right at 12 o'clock. The parking lot in front of the store is quite full of cars. I chose the "Niboshi Ramen" with a pop-up sign saying "Recommended! Light" from the ticket machine. I was hoping for a rich Niboshi broth like the ones from "Isai" and "Yamasawa" in Sapporo, or "Yotsuba" in Asahikawa, but I couldn't find it. Unfortunately. I handed the food ticket to the staff and sat at the counter seat. The interior of the store, which opened three years ago, is clean and nice. Now, in about 5 minutes, the ramen is served. The bowl has a lightning pattern and contains chashu, seaweed, bamboo shoots, green onions, and naruto, with an orthodox appearance. Let's dig in♪ The soup has a straight umami flavor of dried fish. However, the bitterness of the dried fish is a bit strong... and I'm a little concerned about the oil content in the soup. The noodles are medium-thick, slightly wavy straight noodles. It seems to be noodles from Tsuji Mienjo in Kitami. The noteworthy item is the chashu. It's thick, fatty, and delicious. Well, once again, I finished every last drop of the soup and noodles, and completed my meal. Indeed, it is the "first dried fish ramen specialty in Okhotsk". While it claims to be light, the soup, which is not clear, is a bit unbalanced... Dried fish requires a lot of preparation and is surprisingly difficult to use as a broth for soup. Well, taste preferences vary from person to person. There is a belief that ramen should be tailored to the preferences of local customers, so please consider this as the ramblings of a lone visitor from a different town. Thank you for the meal♬ *This was the 142nd bowl in 2020 (visited on November 6, 2020).
