When driving around, I saw a sign for a seafood bowl priced at only 500 yen, which seemed familiar. It's located in Oji, Minami-ku, Fukuoka City. I parked at the Tsutaya parking lot and went to check it out. The parking is free for the first hour, which is convenient. By the way, I am not an honorary member of Tsutaya. The shop specializes in take-out seafood bowls, and I remember trying one at a shop in Tosu, Saga Prefecture, which has since closed down. The key to these shops is the location, and this one seems to have a good spot. They also advertise their seafood bowl as being started by a sushi restaurant. When I visited around 12pm on a weekday, there was only one customer. I was unsure which bowl to order from the menu outside the shop, but I decided to go for the regular seafood bowl priced at 500 yen (excluding tax). The shop has 6 seats for dining in, but I chose to eat in my car. The portion size seemed small, and the fish tasted like it was frozen. The toppings included tuna, salmon from Chile, gizzard shad, squid, scallop, small shrimp, and salmon roe. The vinegar taste in the gizzard shad was too strong, and overall, the fish tasted watery due to being frozen. Despite the lackluster taste, I felt it would be a waste to leave any, so I forced myself to finish it. When you're on a tight budget, you may consider eating here, but I would recommend trying a different menu item. The shop offers a variety of over 100 dishes, but it's mainly just putting toppings on rice. If you're a man, you should definitely go for the large size.
