Lunchtime in Furano City, Hokkaido. I had decided on Kotamaya for lunch. I also got a coupon called "HOKKAIDO LOVE! Discount" from the accommodation I stayed at, so I thought of using it. In the past, coupons were mainly in paper form, but now it seems that downloading them online is becoming more common. I remembered using a downloaded coupon in Iwate Prefecture in January, so I thought it would be easy this time too, but surprisingly, I struggled. I first tried to use it at the Drg Tsuruha Furano Midorimachi store nearby, thinking it would be less crowded there as it is the oldest store in the city. However, the coupon didn't download properly, and I got stuck at the register. The staff, including the cashier, were all very kind and printed out a manual on how to use the coupon, so I finally succeeded in downloading it! I am very grateful to Drg Tsuruha Furano Midorimachi store! Thank you so much! m(_ _)m I want to praise this wonderful store in various places, but for now, I will do it here. ---Cut--- I got the coupon and successfully went to Kotamaya. It must have been about 10 years since I last visited. When I used to work in Furano and came here almost every week, I used to frequent this place. There is also a branch nearby, but their regular holidays are different, so it's convenient not to miss out on meals. By the way, I saw this place on the TV program "Banana Man's Sekkaku Gourmet" recently - it's a familiar spot for the locals. It was 12:40, a bit after the peak time, but the restaurant was bustling. The customers were of all ages, just like a family restaurant in Furano. The spacious restaurant with over 100 seats can accommodate various situations. Kotamaya is a long-established soba restaurant that has been around for over 40 years, and they have a wide range of menu options. In addition to affordable set menus, they also have menus for children, making it popular among a wide range of generations. I ordered the nostalgic "Katsu Don Set", which used to be 1000 yen 10 years ago, but now it's 1200 yen. By the way, for the set, you can choose between "Soba - Hot/Cold" or "Udon - Hot", but I chose Soba, definitely! The excitement of opening the round bento box! Both the Katsu Don and the soba were not mini-sized, but rather voluminous like for two people! The sweet and savory Katsu Don and the sweet and flavorful soba were both excellent and filling! It's still satisfying, just as I remembered it! There are other recommended restaurants in Furano, but in terms of convenience, Kotamaya is still the best choice! Thank you for the delicious meal.

I checked this site and came here because it is close to the hotel and has high ratings. The restaurant is very spacious. The menu is also very extensive. I had kitsune soba and a side of shrimp tempura. The food was served relatively quickly after ordering. The kitsune soba had a generous amount of noodles, and the broth and fried tofu were very delicious. The shrimp tempura was freshly fried, thick, not overly battered, piping hot, and very tasty. By the time we finished eating and left, the restaurant was crowded with local customers, indicating its popularity. The bill was also reasonable.

When I went to the restaurant around 12 o'clock on a Sunday in August during the Obon season, there was a 20-group wait. I wrote my name down, left, and came back after a while, and was able to get in right away. I ordered a tempura bowl set with udon. It tasted like a typical soba shop in town. It wasn't incredibly delicious, but I felt it was a safe place where my family could eat together without worries.

Last week, I saw a restaurant featured on Sekkaku Gourmet by Banana Man. I was thinking about trying it at Furano Marche, but couldn't decide, so I decided to visit this nearby restaurant instead. I didn't try the shrimp bowl that Nishimura-san had, but I had the soba noodles. The soba noodles were white and the dipping sauce was not too strong, it was delicious. I had the plum grated soba, plum and tenkasu soba, and Otsukimi soba (hot). The plum grated soba with plenty of plum paste was refreshing and tasty. Thank you for the meal. Next time, I want to try their rice dishes.

We arrived at the restaurant at 11 am with my husband. There were about 10 groups of people lined up before opening. My husband ordered the shrimp rice bowl and zaru soba set, while I decided to try the soy sauce chashu ramen. The conclusion was that the taste was on par with a ramen specialty shop! I was surprised at how delicious the ramen made by a soba restaurant could be.

After watching the fireworks in Minamifurano the previous day, I was taken to a soba restaurant in Furano today. Without any prior knowledge, I ordered the set meal. The shrimp was served in two large pieces, which were delicious and satisfying to eat. The soba was light and easy to eat. I later found out that Banana Man had eaten the shrimp bowl here. My husband and I, who love soba noodles, wanted to eat delicious soba while traveling. We didn't have time to do research, so we chose this popular restaurant with many customers. The spacious restaurant was bustling with many customers, and we were guided to a tatami table where we had to take off our shoes. The air conditioning didn't seem to be working well, so it was hot. I ordered the "Sanpo Soba" which allows you to enjoy three different toppings, while my partner ordered the "Nishin Soba" with mochi topping. The noodles were thin, and the cold soba had decent firmness. The Nishin in the warm soba was large, soft, and truly Hokkaido quality! The service was also quick. The atmosphere was like a casual diner, and the menu had a wide variety, making it good for regular visits. It may not have a special feel for travelers, but the Nishin was impressive!

A long-established soba restaurant in Furano. Although I didn't order it this time, the recommended dish is the extra-large shrimp tempura soba. The tempura was big and delicious! The conger eel tempura looked particularly large and satisfying. They also have sunken kotatsu seats, making it easy to use even with a baby.

While visiting my hometown, my father wanted to eat ramen at this soba restaurant, so we went for lunch. It brought back memories of when I used to work part-time here during my student days. The atmosphere still feels the same as it did back then, especially during the Obon season. At first, I was in the mood for tempura rice bowl, but suddenly I felt like having a pork cutlet rice bowl instead. I asked for half the rice, but the portion seemed like a full one. That's right, the servings here were always generous. It was nostalgic to have a pork cutlet rice bowl with plenty of sauce. I couldn't finish all the rice, though, so I left some behind.

I feel like visiting the Kotama family in Furano a few times a year because I can enjoy the taste of the old Crescent Moon Ramen. This time, I chose the Char Siu Noodle Soy Sauce flavor. Oh, the oil is delicious. The clear soup with a hint of bonito and katsuobushi is delicious. The chewy char siu is plentiful and satisfying. My companion, on the other hand, noticed that the tempura looked delicious when ordering and opted for a tempura bowl. The sweet sauce drizzled over the tempura bowl is simply delicious. I was impressed when the dish arrived with a lid on top, showing they understand how to serve a proper tempura bowl (it's correct to cover the bowl for a short time to let the rice steam with the heat). Well, I once again realized that Furano has a lot of delicious food.

Furano City [Soba Restaurant Kotobukiya Main Store] - Shoyu Ramen I was curious because the lunchtime at this monster store in Furano City was super crowded. I also wanted to try soba, but here they serve ramen with a light and clear soup. The traditional Japanese-style broth with a strong shoyu flavor was delicious. Tempura Soba Set (Cold) for 1200 yen. Today's lunch was at Soba Restaurant Kodama-ya. It was almost full as I arrived at lunchtime. I chose the Tempura Soba Set. It was served in about 15 minutes. It came in a two-tiered box. It was quite filling. The tempura included shrimp, bell pepper, eggplant, and smelt, all crispy and delicious. The shrimp was particularly tasty. Now I'm energized and ready to tackle the rest of the day.

It was around 3:00 PM on Sunday and there was a line. It was my first visit and I had high expectations. I thought the soba noodles were probably pre-cooked as they tended to stick together and had a rounded cut, not freshly cut or boiled. My friends who came with me seemed satisfied with the tempura. I had work in Furano. I had some free time in the morning for work. I had some time before my afternoon work so I wanted to eat out. I was torn between two options. I used to live in Furano in the past. The restaurants there are completely different now compared to back then. But I wanted to eat the flavors that I remember from the past. There is Sapporoken near the station. I haven't been there since 25 years ago. Another place I used to like was Mikkazuki Shokudo. It closed down a while ago, but their ramen was delicious. I remember it being a bit light with the flavor of soba broth. I wanted to go to Sapporoken, but this time I decided to try ramen from a soba shop that I had never tried before. Maybe I'll be able to touch upon some memories of the past. I walked from my workplace, and arrived in about 15 minutes. I sat at the counter seat. I chose the soy sauce chashu noodles from the menu. The interior of the restaurant was clean. It didn't look much different from the past, but I couldn't remember if they had the central counter seats back then... It's a memory too far back to recall. The ramen arrived in about 5 minutes. The soup was clear and the noodles were visible. The amount of oil was minimal. The chashu was mostly lean meat and nicely arranged. I started with the soup, of course. It's the soup from a soba shop! Exactly like a soba shop. Nice. If you go into a soba shop and get a genuine ramen, then it's good to be in a ramen shop. But this place is a soba shop. I'm happy to be able to eat delicious ramen from a soba shop. The same goes for curry. I'm happy when the curry from a soba shop tastes like a soba shop. It doesn't have to be an authentic curry. The noodles were more towards Sapporo style rather than Asahikawa style. They were smooth and chewy, delicious. The soup and noodles paired so well. And the chashu was good. The seasoning and texture were just right. Oh man. It was a great choice. It kind of reminds me of Mikkazuki Shokudo. But it's not exactly the same. But today, I wanted to eat this kind of ramen. My mouth is burnt from the hot soup, but it was a very enjoyable meal. As I left the restaurant, I muttered in my mind, "It's a soba shop, but I might choose ramen again next time." I would love to visit again, and next time I'll try the salt ramen. After not eating for a while, I suddenly felt like eating "Katsu Soba (hot)" ♡ It's still crowded at lunchtime as usual with many tourists. I ordered my favorite "Katsu Soba." The crispy tonkatsu with fine bread crumbs and the sweet soba broth harmonize well. The small eggplant pickles at the end were a nice touch. Another delicious meal at Koyama. Thank you for the meal.

I had the Large Mori Soba for 680 yen today, it's been a while. The sweet broth with a strong bonito flavor, and the small pickled eggplants, were comforting. It's getting to that time of year when snow will start falling in this town. I've been taken care of in various ways lately. It was really crowded today, so even after finishing my meal, there was no soba-yu (hot water to dilute the remaining broth). Nevertheless, it was delicious. When in doubt, I always go for the Mori Soba lunch. I thought I had avoided the lunch rush, but on sunny weekends, it gets super busy so you need to be careful. It seems like it's time for more warm soba meals. Thank you for the meal today.
