This is a report on a popular restaurant called "Butafuku" located in Otaru, Hokkaido. The pork bowl here is incredibly delicious! You can enjoy authentic pork bowls without having to go all the way to Obihiro, making it awesome! When I visited around 6:30 PM on a weekday, there were no other customers, and only one person came in later while I was finishing my meal. The parking lot is spacious and easy to park in. There was a sign saying they are open all day. This time, or rather, as always, I ordered my favorite dish here! "Kamikomi Butadon ¥1,300." When I asked the staff, they said there is a bowl with just the belly meat, but I went with the default option because it has more fat, but if you like fatty meat, it might be worth a try! Since it was not busy, it arrived in less than 10 minutes!! Wow!! This pork bowl is packed with plenty of meat slices and looks incredibly delicious! The phrase "Only 3 out of 100 heads" posted in the shop is quite appealing! Just lifting the meat with chopsticks, you can feel the tenderness of the meat! When I took a big bite, I was impressed by its deliciousness! So delicious!! The homemade sauce in the pot on the table is also incredibly tasty, so I just poured it all over! The homemade sauce pairs perfectly with the meat and rice in the Kamikomi Butadon, making it incredibly delicious! The tender meat and sweet fat make it incredibly tasty! Being able to enjoy the secret sauce soaking into the rice until the end is great! I couldn't stop eating with my chopsticks! I finished it deliciously in no time! Although there are other menu items like shiso and garlic, the addictive flavor of the "Kamikomi Butadon" has me hooked! It was extremely delicious! Thank you for the meal.

Butafuku (Otaru, Hokkaido) I was aiming to eat zangi, but the restaurant I targeted was already full 5 minutes after opening. I couldn't afford to miss my flight, so with a heavy heart, I switched to a pork bowl near the airport. The Tohoku Expressway, which runs from Ishikari Province through Tokachi Province, has not yet reached Kushiro, but there is a free section surrounding Kushiro City that is open. I thought it would be quick to get from Enya to Oiraku, but the road is actually cut off in the middle. I had to pass through the city, but luckily I was able to refuel without wasting time. The restaurant I was aiming for was not full yet. The menu had curry rice, but mainly pork bowls with a wide variety of options. There were options like mixed pork bowl, curry pork bowl, and garlic pork bowl, but I settled on the popular "mixed pork bowl". After a short wait, the mixed pork bowl arrived. Looking at the portion size, I thought maybe I should have ordered extra meat, but it was actually quite substantial. At first, I ate it as it was, but then I noticed a pot of sauce on the counter. When I poured it on, the light-flavored pork bowl transformed into a funky and delicious taste. I was enjoying it while thinking that maybe I should have added some spice, but when I tried adding some red pepper, it became even more delicious. I stopped by on my way from Obihiro to Rausu, the first time I had pork bowl in Hokkaido. I ordered the mixed bowl with loin and belly. It arrived in 5-6 minutes, with sauce on the table that you can add according to your preference. There wasn't much sauce on the rice, so I added some more. The pork bowl in Obihiro was delicious, but this one was also tasty! Personally, I felt that the belly was getting a bit too strong, so maybe just the loin would be enough? I would like to come back again!

Kushiro is a treasure trove of ingredients in Hokkaido! It's a bit sad that it's not well known due to poor branding, but at the same time, its clumsiness is endearing. This restaurant is a popular spot for locals, serving a delicious Kushiro pork bowl made with carefully selected pork and a secret sauce. The pork, grilled over charcoal and topped with a sweet and savory sauce, is absolutely delicious! The owner says they don't want to expand to Obihiro because it's too much trouble. That's the charm of Kushiro! ^^;

On August 16, 2023, I wanted to have my last Hokkaido gourmet meal around Kushiro Airport. I found this place on Google and decided to make a reservation just in case. I ordered the Tokachi Kamikomi Pork Bowl and the Mixed Pork Bowl. The flavor was slightly strong with a peppery kick, and the bowls were filled with plenty of meat, making them very satisfying. The meat was tender and delicious.

When it comes to pork bowl in Kushiro, "Butafuku" at Otarappu is the place to go. I visited after a long time! When I visited, it was during the Obon holiday period, so it was crowded, including for takeout. The most popular "Mixed Pork Bowl" is overflowing with pork cooked over charcoal, giving it a fragrant aroma and a delicious sweet and savory sauce on tender meat! Visited on Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was always full. There were customers who came on a motorcycle trip and even some who rented a car from overseas. The interior had counter seats, raised seating, and chairs in the back. The food arrived about 15 minutes after ordering. The pork was tender and very easy to eat, suggesting they use good quality meat. The style was to pour the sauce yourself, but it didn't suit my taste. The interior was far from clean, and the service from the lady in charge was not good. She always seemed irritated. If you're going to eat pork bowl, I'd rather do it in Obihiro.

Mixed pork bowl (I think) - 1050 yen This was my last lunch before returning from Kushiro to Osaka. I didn't have time to go to Tokachi area, but I wanted to eat a pork bowl since I was here. I found a pork bowl restaurant near the airport in Kushiro. The local atmosphere was great. The pork bowl I ordered didn't have much sauce on the rice, so it felt a bit lacking. The meat had a satisfying volume and was delicious though. As I was eating, I realized there was sauce on the table. I should have added it for more flavor. Oh well, I'll remember that for next time I come to Hokkaido. Thank you for the meal.

I sent my boss off at the airport and decided to have a late lunch at a restaurant nearby. I ordered the recommended pork dish which was a bit pricier at 1300 yen compared to other items around 1000 yen. I asked for a smaller portion of rice. The pork was surprisingly generous in portion and made with tender loin meat, very delicious. I later realized there was sauce provided, so I would have preferred to add a little bit more. Thank you for the meal!

Visited on June 19, 2023! Mixed pork bowl for 1,050 yen. As lunchtime was ending, around 1:30 PM, there were no customers in sight. I thought I might be the last-minute customer, but within 5 minutes of entering, a wave of customers came in and about 80% of the seats were filled. I remember seeing this place on a TV show, maybe it was "The Unknown World of Matsuko" (or a different show), where a buyer visited a Hokkaido product exhibition at a major supermarket incognito, so I decided to come here. When it comes to pork bowls, Obihiro is famous, but a pork bowl in Kushiro? Well, even though it's technically Kushiro City, it's the closest to Obihiro, at Otaraku, so why not give it a try? ^_^

I arrived at the restaurant around 12 p.m. on a weekday and it was extremely crowded with many customers before and after me. Last month, I had a disappointing pork bowl, so I decided to pretend I hadn't had a delicious pork bowl yet and came here! It's been a few years since I last visited. - Curry set (pork belly) - Mountain wasabi - Pork bowl (mixed) The staff here are very friendly and I like them a lot. The curry set includes a pork bowl and a mini curry, which is quite filling even for someone with a big appetite like me. The pork bowl has a strong charcoal flavor and the pork belly fat is sweet and delicious. I enjoyed it with the sauce on the table. The curry is thick and the pork pieces and onions in it are delicious. I really love the curry here. The combination of curry and pork bowl is great, so I chose the curry set as I want to enjoy both flavors. And the mountain wasabi is a must-have! I'm not a big fan of wasabi, but the mountain wasabi here is exceptional. It's not too spicy and surprisingly goes well with the sauce here! Writing this review makes me crave it again. This restaurant has been my favorite pork bowl place for a long time.

My husband ordered the rare cut beef bowl (1,300 yen) and I ordered the mixed pork bowl (1,050 yen). We shared and ate them together, but honestly, we couldn't really tell much of a difference. If I had to say, the rare cut beef had more fat and a stronger meat flavor. The overall taste, including the miso soup, was gentle. There is sauce on the table for the meat, so you can add more if you want. Personally, I prefer the pork belly. If it's just loin, I get tired of it, so it's nice to have different textures with the mixed meat. Thank you for the meal.

I think it's been over 10 years since I was a student. Today, I visited the restaurant Butafuku that my child was curious about. My wife stayed home because she wasn't feeling well. I brought my child and my daughter with me. In the past, I could easily finish a curry set, but I've gotten older... haha I ordered a refreshing shiso-miso rice bowl. The children weren't used to eating rice bowls, so they were a bit slow... haha Maybe it was too early... haha It's been a while since I last came here, but the smell of charcoal, the crispiness, and the sauce mixing with the rice all go well together. It also gives you stamina. I'll come back for a rematch when my child has a bigger appetite.

I went to "Butafuku" for dinner today, inspired by the photos from MyRebi. I arrived at the restaurant around 7:00 PM on a weekday night, with three other groups already there. I ordered a mix of pork loin and belly. The food arrived quickly, and I noticed that the pork slices were not as thick as I had expected. The flavor was also a bit mild, so I added more sauce from the table. Overall, the pork bowl was tasty, but it didn't have that special factor I was hoping for. Perhaps the timing of my visit was not ideal, or maybe my expectations were too high since I had traveled from the city to the outskirts of Dairaku-mo. Thank you for the meal. 3.48

On this day, I arrived in Kushiro in the afternoon. I rented a car at Kushiro Airport and headed to "Butafuku" recommended by my senpai who lives in Kushiro. It took about 10 minutes by car from the airport, and I arrived around 13:45. I parked my car in the front parking lot and entered the restaurant. I sat at the counter seat. I ordered the most popular mixed pork bowl (with loin and belly)! The pork bowl arrived in about 5 minutes! The bowl of pork bowl was smaller than I had imagined. It came with miso soup and pickles. The pork bowl had slices of loin and belly, about 5-6 pieces each, cut into easy-to-eat sizes. The meat was very tender and juicy, with a mild seasoning that allowed the sweetness of the meat to shine through. It was delicious!

My work in Kushiro dragged on longer than expected. I had originally planned to have lunch in Obihiro. The top search results were more towards the city center of Kushiro. I set my navigation to Butafuku, which I found in the direction of Obihiro. It's convenient since I'm on my way to the highway. The restaurant has a parking lot next to it, so there's plenty of space to park. The facade looks like it used to be a snack bar. The interior is not very spacious and looks a bit messy. I was assigned to a small counter seat facing the wall and ordered the most popular mixed dish. It arrived promptly. At first glance, it looks small but it's just the right size. The seasoning is light and easy to eat. Occasionally, black pepper comes through, which adds a nice touch. It's not swimming in sauce, so the rice doesn't get drenched, but the flavor of the meat and sauce on the rice is delicious! You can enjoy both the loin and belly meat. Thank you for the meal. The pickles are a bit disappointing.

In July 2022, I was having dinner alone and couldn't decide what to eat. So, I decided to visit Butafuku, a place I haven't been to in about 11 years. It used to be popular among bloggers in Kushiro back then. When I entered, I noticed that there were two ladies working instead of the old man. I ordered the Curry Pork Bowl, which I remembered being delicious from my previous visit. While waiting, I looked around and noticed that the place seemed a bit unkempt compared to before, with old blog prints still hanging on the walls. The old man left for a moment but came back saying "Oops" and handed me a wet order sheet. I started eating the curry, and it reminded me of the curry flavors from the Showa era, which I found tasty. The pork bowl had both loin and belly meat, but the color seemed a bit pale, and the taste was a bit bland. However, when I added the sauce from the pot on the counter, the dish became delicious. The sauce's flavor was the key to making the meal enjoyable. While waiting, I read through the old blog posts on the wall, reminiscing about the past. I couldn't help but take photos of the nostalgic reviews. I wonder if B級Takaさん will make a comeback. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

This place gives the impression of having a lot of meat but less rice visually, but when you actually eat it, the amount is decent. It seems like it used to be cheaper in the past. It also seems like the flavor used to be stronger. So, I added extra sauce.

The restaurant had a counter and table seats with more seating than expected. The staff seemed like a veteran master and his wife. I sat at the counter and ordered a mixed pork bowl. The pork bowl was kept warm and arrived quickly. It was served in a unique container that resembled a box rather than a traditional bowl. Despite looking small, it had a deep bottom. The pork consisted of both loin and belly. The loin was a bit thin for a pork bowl, but the belly was thick, which was interesting. The meat was tender and had a good chewy texture. The loin was delicious, but the thick belly was also tasty. The sauce, which was black and thin, had a sweet and savory taste and could be added according to preference. Normally, restaurants spread out the food to make it look like more, but this restaurant did the opposite - it looked small but was actually quite filling.

I stopped by for lunch during a business trip. I had been wanting to go here for a while, and finally got the chance. It was around 12:30, but it was quite crowded. I ordered something called Curry Pork Don, and it arrived shortly. Honestly, the curry was amazing! It was like cafeteria curry without much spice. It's my favorite kind of curry. It's like drinking curry. And there was a lot of pork on top of the rice. It's honestly the best. This is a place I definitely want to visit again. I would certify it as a place I want near my house.
