The late-night udon restaurant, open from 8pm to 4am, was unexpectedly high quality! I went thinking it was just a typical late-night spot, but the udon here is top-notch!! I ordered the cold meat and ginger udon, which came with flat noodles that had a firm texture and were delicious. The broth was rich in flavor but not overpowering, and it paired perfectly with the ingredients. The noodles were well-cooked and incredibly tasty! I definitely want to come back to try the warm meat and ginger udon and curry udon once the weather cools down. They also serve alcohol, but the standout feature of this place is definitely the delicious udon. The service was friendly and welcoming, making it a great place to dine alone without feeling lonely.

About a 5-kilometer walk from Shinsaibashi Station, there is an udon restaurant on the north side of the European street with a rating of 3.22 on Tabelog. The name of the restaurant, "Niku Shoga Udon," makes you salivate just by hearing it. The meaning behind the phrase "the more you drink, the better it tastes" is unclear, but it caught my attention, so I decided to visit. Upon entering the restaurant through the first-floor corridor, you will find a small izakaya-style interior with a large table and counter seating. I ordered the "Niku Shoga Udon" for 800 yen, with an additional 100 yen for a large serving and 200 yen for rice. With various toppings and rice bowls available, it seems like you can have a satisfying meal here. When the dish arrived, I was greeted by a generous amount of ginger that resembled yuzu sherbet, and sweet and savory simmered meat. I was convinced that ordering rice was the right choice (laughs). I hesitated a bit about whether it was okay to mix in all that ginger at once, but I decided to go for it. When I tasted the broth, it had just the right amount of ginger flavor. I couldn't help but exclaim, "I see!" When the sweet and savory simmered meat was added, the udon turned into a main dish. The udon noodles were thin, like Inaniwa udon, with a good chewy texture and smoothness that paired well with the broth. After finishing the slurping noodles, I topped the rice with the meat, poured the broth over it, and had a second round with the rice. It also went well with the rice. While katsu udon is good, sometimes niku shoga udon is also a great choice. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I stopped by on my way back from a reception. I had been interested in this udon restaurant for a while. The staff and customers were all young! It may be because of the location. But the udon was really delicious and well-made! The soup was a rare rich soy sauce broth in Kansai, which went perfectly with the ginger. The beef tendon was tender and chewy, providing a satisfying texture. Highly recommended!

While walking back to the hotel after drinking in Shinjuku, I noticed a lantern for "Meat and Ginger Udon" that caught my interest. The sweet and savory simmered meat paired with plenty of grated ginger was a perfect match. Even though I had already eaten and drank my fill, I couldn't resist and devoured it all! The excitement of stumbling upon this hidden gem in a back alley added to the whole experience.

After a drinking party, I stopped by this restaurant because I was a little hungry. I ordered the recommended ginger pork udon (medium size) with some added fish cakes. I also couldn't resist ordering a red sausage and a highball. The combination of highball and red sausage was just perfect, like O N combo level. The udon had a rich and sweet broth, which I thought might get boring after a while, but the ginger added a perfect touch to reset the flavors. The noodles were so delicious that I couldn't stop slurping them up. I definitely want to come back to this restaurant!

After drinking alcohol, eating refreshing ginger pork udon as a finishing touch is the best!! I was invited to go for ramen as a finishing touch after drinking with acquaintances in Minami, but I suggested a rich pork udon and went there. I found this place on my way back to the hotel after drinking in Minami, so I decided to visit for the first time. The table seats were full, so I sat at the counter. I ordered the beef and ginger udon. The color of the udon was not as light as Kansai udon, nor as dark as Kanto udon. The soup was slightly sweet with a strong ginger flavor, which was quite nice! The egg was soft-boiled, so I broke it up while eating. The large cuts of green onions balanced well with the meat. It was my first time trying it, but surprisingly, I liked it! The udon soup after drinking was gentle and nice! It was also convenient that they accepted PayPay.

To Taiyo-san, who serves meat and ginger udon. I visited the restaurant feeling quite good after drinking since noon. The place was almost full, but I was luckily seated as a party of one. It seems like during this time of year, all the places are packed even late in the day. I have been to this udon restaurant a few times. The udon here comes with plenty of ginger and meat in a sweet broth, which is not the typical Kansai-style broth. The noodles are not too firm, but rather smooth and easy to eat. I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Niku Shogayaki Udon Taiyo in Higashi-Shinsaibashi: After having a meal in the Higashi-Shinsaibashi area, I felt like slurping some noodles as a finishing touch. Even though I was already full, somehow when I'm tipsy, I can always eat noodles. It's a common thing, right? I stumbled upon a sign with a fantastic slogan saying "The drunker you get, the tastier the udon" and was drawn into the tenant building. The restaurant's name was "Niku Shogayaki Udon Taiyo." I just knew it would be delicious, so I went in. Despite it being a late visit, the place was bustling with customers. It's not just an udon shop, they also have small dishes, so many customers were enjoying it like an izakaya. It seemed like there were a lot of regulars, all having a good time. The seating was a large table where everyone sits together and a counter by the kitchen. It's a shared table, so customers probably get along well with each other. I ordered the warm Niku Shogayaki Udon (medium) for 700 yen. It was the perfect size for a finishing meal. The flat noodles, similar to kishimen, were smooth and had a nice texture. They weren't chewy, which was great for me since I was already full. The sweet and savory braised meat was so tender. The soup, based on a sweet soy sauce, had plenty of ginger. Oh no, this was spot on. So delicious the drunker you get. This udon was definitely made for tipsy people! My companion ordered the Curry Udon for 1000 yen. The curry udon with a flavorful broth is also something you crave when you're tipsy! I might have to stop by here again on my way back.

The meat and ginger udon had a sweet broth with a strong ginger flavor, which I really enjoyed. The meat was tender and delicious. The only thing that could have been better was the noodles. The restaurant is located about 3-4 minutes southeast from exit 6 of Osaka Metro Shinsaibashi Station. Inside, there are 4 counter seats and 1 table for 6 people. I had the set menu "Large Set" which included beef ginger udon (large) and a mini rice bowl. I chose the warm beef ginger udon and mini rice bowl this time. After a short wait, the udon and rice bowl were brought to me. The beef ginger udon (large) had beef, green onions, and chopped ginger as toppings. The flat udon noodles were smooth and easy to eat. The dark broth had a flavorful taste of ginger. As I ate, I felt warm and refreshed. It seemed like a good way to sober up. The mini rice bowl had beef and egg simmered in broth on top of rice, with chopped seaweed and pickled radish on the side. The combination of meaty flavor and savory egg made the rice bowl very enjoyable. I look forward to trying the cold beef ginger udon next time. Thank you for the meal.

After finishing drinking, feeling hungry so it's time for alcohol and food. Late-night meal around 3 AM. Visited a place and had chicken tempura ginger udon, fried chicken, and simmered beef tendon. Finished with udon. It was delicious and comforting. The noodles were flat and soft, lacking chewiness but giving a gentle impression. This amount was good for the stomach after drinking. The ginger was a nice touch. The fried chicken was amazing. It's tasty. It's nice that they're open until morning. I'm curious about their curry udon too.

This shop opens at 9:00 PM. I arrived 5 minutes early. On the way there, I saw many lounges and clubs in the neighborhood, giving me a sense of Minami's nightlife. I sat at the counter and toasted with a bottled beer as it was our second stop. My companion was drinking canned chu-hi. The okonomiyaki had daikon in it, but it was well cooked and delicious, ranking first among the okonomiyaki I've had recently. The udon had plenty of ginger in the middle and the broth was a bit rich in color, but it was tasty. The staff were friendly and it seemed like there were many regular customers. They really value each customer. I highly recommend this place as a great spot for a final drink after a night out in Minami.

I sat down and tried to decide what to order, but since the shop's name includes meat and ginger udon, I couldn't resist ordering it. I chose the medium size. When the udon arrived, I realized I should have ordered the large size. It was a small portion, like a lady's size. I quickly finished it and thought I should order the large size next time (laughs). On this day, after drinking quite a bit with friends from Tokyo and Osaka, we ended up at this restaurant where the memories are a bit fuzzy. It was already almost morning.
