I ordered the "Tenbodon" for 1,100 yen, which allows you to enjoy both tempura and pork bowl. It was a generous portion, with crispy tempura that was delicious. I haven't seen this menu at other restaurants before. My companion mentioned that the soba noodles, which are hand-made, are also delicious! Maybe next time I'll try a set menu with a bowl and soba noodles? Many people seemed to be ordering the pork cutlet bowl. It's an old-fashioned diner with a fast turnover, a wide variety of menu options, cleanliness, and I think it's recommendable for people of all ages and genders.

The town of Ashoro is an important transportation hub. After passing through this town after 2:00 p.m., I noticed that the shop's curtain was down, so I decided to stop by. I ordered two dishes: egg and rice bowl soba and tempura udon. The egg and rice bowl soba I ordered had hand-made noodles, fluffy eggs, and a well-balanced broth, which was very satisfying. A few days later, when I told a friend about my visit to this shop, they said, "I used to visit that shop a lot when I lived in Ashoro. The food there is really delicious." If I pass through Ashoro again, I would like to visit this shop.

Ryogoku Shokudo December 2022. What I can do now is to support at least the food and beverage industry while being careful enough. Let's all work together ✨ Today, it's freezing cold, so I decided to get some nutrition at a long-established soba restaurant in Ashoro Town. I visited "Ryogoku Shokudo" ✨ They offer takeout. Located in Honbetsu Town, along Route 241. Next to Hokkaido Ichijo Plaza. The exterior is a two-story house with a charming light green wall on the first floor. Inside, there are two 2-seater tables, 5 tables for 4 people, and several tables for 4 people in a raised area. I had tonkatsu yesterday, but Ryogoku's katsudon is delicious (laughs) ★ Katsudon for 1,100 yen (tax included). The pork cutlet is about 1.5 cm thick, with a lot of fat and a sweet and rich flavor from the strong dashi with bonito flakes on the soba, making it very delicious ✨✨ It's so full of ingredients that you could do without the cutlet (laughs) It's always crowded at lunchtime. Next time, I'll try the set or katsu curry ⤴️ Thank you for the meal m(__)m Ryogoku Shokudo offers takeout ☆ Business hours 10:30 am to 7:00 pm (no break) ☆ Closed on Mondays, closes at 2:00 pm, other irregular holidays

Ryogoku Shokudo December 2022. One thing I can do now is to support at least the food and beverage industry while being careful enough. Let's all support each other with full power! Today, seeking something warm in the cold weather, I visited a long-established soba restaurant in Ashoro Town, "Ryogoku Shokudo." They offer takeout. Located in Honbetsu Town, off Route , the exterior is a charming two-story house with a light green wall on the first floor. Inside, there are 2 two-seater tables, 5 four-seater tables, and several sunken tables for 4 people. I confirmed with the kind landlady and ordered the recommended Nabeyaki Udon for 1,000 yen (tax included) and added shrimp tempura topping for 200 yen (tax included). The ingredients included pork, egg, bamboo shoots, spinach, leeks, shiitake mushrooms, kamaboko, and tempura crumbs. The udon, though not hand-made, was hot and delicious with a good texture, like frozen udon. The hot pot kept boiling for a while, making it piping hot and slurp-worthy (laughs). It's always crowded during lunchtime. Next time, I'll come back to try the katsu-don. Thank you for the meal. Ryogoku Shokudo offers takeout ☆ Business hours: 10:30 am-7:00 pm (no breaks) ☆ Closed on Mondays, closes at 2 pm, and irregular holidays.

Ryogoku Shokudo December 2022. What I can do now is to support restaurants by being cautious and at least dining out. Let's all do our best! Today, I visited a long-established soba restaurant in Teshio Town to try out a menu that caught my eye. "Ryogoku Shokudo" offers takeout. Located in Honbetsu Town, on the national highway, the exterior is a two-story residential building with a charming light green wall on the first floor. Inside, there are two 2-seater tables, 5 tables for 4 people, and several tables for 4 people on a raised platform. I ordered the Katsu Don for 1,100 yen (tax included). The katsu is a thick cut of pork loin, about 1.5 cm thick, with a good amount of fat, sweet taste, and a rich broth with bonito flakes that goes well with the soba. It's very delicious and full of ingredients, almost too much even without the katsu (laughs). It's always crowded during lunchtime. Next time, I'll come back to try the Nabeyaki Udon. Thank you for the meal. Ryogoku Shokudo offers takeout. Business hours are 10:30-19:00 (no break), closed on Mondays, and may have irregular closing times at 2 pm.

Ryogoku Shokudo November 2022. Today, I visited a long-established soba restaurant in Teshio-cho to try a menu that caught my interest. "Ryogoku Shokudo" is located in Honbetsu-cho, along the national highway. The exterior is a charming two-story building with light green walls. Inside, there are 2 two-seater tables, 5 four-seater tables, and several tables in a raised tatami area. I ordered the "Tendon" for 1,100 yen (tax included). It consisted of tempura toppings such as shrimp, squid, green pepper, and eggplant, served over rice with a generous amount of sauce. The tempura was crispy and the seafood was delicious. The pork bowl was made with a large piece of pork shoulder loin, tender and flavorful. The restaurant is always busy during lunchtime. Next time, I plan to try the Katsudon. Thank you for the meal. Lunch at Adachi! I visited the Ryogoku Shokudo restaurant that I had been wanting to try. When I passed by the front of the restaurant during lunchtime, there were always quite a few cars parked, right? I arrived around 11:30. The restaurant was about half full. Now, I had heard that the katsudon was delicious, so I was planning to try it, but it turns out they only offer the katsudon as a single item, no set meals available. I wanted to eat some warm soba, so I decided to save the katsudon for next time. Therefore, since I was hungry, I ordered the kashiwa soba set with tempura rice bowl. It cost 1100 yen. You can choose between tempura rice bowl, pork rice bowl, or curry, all for the same price, which is amazing. The food arrived faster than I expected. It didn't even take 5 minutes. Let's dig in. First, the soba. Ah, delicious. The slightly sweet broth with thick soba noodles is a great combination. The soba noodles are slightly thicker than usual. Even though it's warm soba, the noodles have a strong aroma and taste great. I really like this kind of soba. The thick noodles go well with the slightly sweet broth. Now, the tempura rice bowl. It had shrimp, eggplant, bell pepper, and squid. The tempura was crispy. And the sauce was delicious. It's a caramel-like sauce with a nice toasted flavor. Some people might have different preferences, but I liked it. Yes, both the soba and the rice bowl were delicious! I want to try the cold soba next time, and of course, I still need to go back for the katsudon. I'll definitely visit again. The staff were fresh and energetic, which was nice to see. Thank you for the meal!

Ryogoku Shokudo 2022.08.19 One thing I can do now is to support restaurants by being careful. Let's all do our best together! Today, because it's cool, I decided to visit a long-established soba restaurant in Ashoro-cho after more than ten years. I went to "Ryogoku Shokudo"✨ Located in Honbetsu-cho, on the national highway, the exterior is a two-story house with a charming light green wall on the first floor. Inside, there are two 2-person table seats, 5 tables for 4 people, and several tables for 4 people. I couldn't decide between katsudon and curry, so I ordered the set menu (laughs). I ordered the "Tosoba Set (Curry)" for 1,100 yen (tax included)✨ The soba is hand-cut and probably around Ni-Hachi thickness. It has a slightly chewy texture with a delicious broth✨ The curry in the set is served in a slightly larger bowl than the soba, and it's quite filling with a tasty broth. Next time, I'll come back to try the katsudon✨ Thank you for the meal m(__)m Ryogoku Shokudo -Opening hours: 10:00-19:00 (no breaks) -Closed on Mondays, closes at 14:00, irregular holidays

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. I arrived at 2:00 PM, just as they were closing the curtains, but they kindly welcomed me inside. I ordered the handmade soba noodles with grated daikon for 1,100 yen. The shrimp tempura was also delicious and generously sized.

Visit date July 29, 2021. Today, I am on a business trip to Kushiro. I picked up the head office staff from Asahikawa and drove to Kushiro via Mikuni Pass. We were planning to meet the other party in Honbetsu, but we are likely to arrive early, so we decided to have lunch in Teshikaga. When we met with the other party, we decided to have some light soba. This restaurant is called "Ryokoku-san Handmade Soba," but it has the atmosphere of a regular town soba shop. Since it was lunchtime, the restaurant was almost full. I ordered the mori soba, which arrived in about 20 minutes. The presentation...may have missed the mark. The soba has a sweet aftertaste, and the flavor of buckwheat is not very noticeable. The ultimate disappointment was the soba broth, which was weak and lacked any dashi flavor. Anyway, my stomach is full, so let's move on. I will try soba in Kushiro. Next, we visited Chiharu's birthplace. There was a large illustration displayed on top of the garage...it looked like a before and after with signs of fading over time. In any case, that was the end of lunch in Teshikaga.

Today I had the usual soba with scrambled eggs at Ryogoku. It costs 700 yen. The generous amount of scrambled eggs is great. It goes well with the fluffy soba. The broth is delicious and complements the chewy texture of the soba. It's impressive how customers keep coming in. Both soba restaurants in Toyoso are thriving. Thank you for the meal today.

I went to the Handmade Soba Restaurant "Ryogoku" today. I ordered the "Tanuki Soba" for 700 yen. It was ready in about 5 minutes. Even when it's busy, they serve relatively quickly, which is a good point of this restaurant. Let's dig in! The tempura crumbs are generously covering the soba. The noodles are slightly thick and have a chewy texture. The broth has a nice flavor as well. The Tanuki Soba has a satisfying volume. Thank you for the meal!

I went to Ryokoku Shokudo! It's a popular spot with a lot of cars even before 12 o'clock. Today, I had the "kakesoba" for 600 yen including tax, which is cheap and good. It was ready in about 6 minutes, and as usual, it came in a quite large bowl. The broth was delicious with a nice aroma of bonito. The soba was slightly soft but had a good elasticity. It was a perfect match with the warm broth. I still want to try more warm soba...Thank you for the meal!

I went to Ryokoku Shokudo for lunch! I decided to try the "Sansai Soba" today as I heard their warm soba is quite good. It costs 800 yen including tax. I wanted to feel the arrival of spring. There are plenty of warabi (bracken fern) in it, a bit tough though. The soba has a nice chewy texture, a bit on the chewy side, but quite tasty. The broth is really good, not too strong or too light, with a nice aroma that makes you want to drink it all up. Lately, I've been having a lot of soba for lunch. Itadakimasu!

I went to Ryokoku Shokudo again! Last time I had cold soba as a set, so today I will try warm soba. I ordered the chicken soba for 750 yen including tax. The broth looks light but when you taste it, it feels light but still satisfying, with a good dashi flavor. The chicken adds a nice umami flavor, with two types - one chewy and one tender. The soba noodles have a nice texture, a bit chewy. It seems like warm soba is the way to go. I'll try it again next time. Thank you for the meal!

During our trip around Hokkaido, we stumbled upon a crowded restaurant while looking for a place to eat lunch. The cozy atmosphere inside the restaurant was filled with customers enjoying their meals. We were really hungry and craving rice, so we decided to go for a set menu that included a famous Hokkaido dish called Butadon. I ordered Tempura Soba with Butadon. We had to wait for about 10-15 minutes due to the crowd. When the dishes arrived, I first observed the Butadon. It had two large slices of pork with a shiny glaze, and the sweet and savory sauce was irresistible. The sauce was so good that I wished I could buy some to take home. The Tempura Soba had a single shrimp tempura on top, and it was slightly soaked in the broth. I usually prefer crispy tempura, but this style was also enjoyable.

I went to Ryogoku Shokudo for the first time! It opens early at 10:30 am and offers lunch until late. I ordered the Zaru Soba set for 1,050 yen, which includes a choice of pork bowl or tempura bowl. The soba noodles seemed to have poor drainage, were soft, and lacked firmness. The broth was weak and lacked depth. The pork bowl had two large pieces of meat that looked unimpressive. The meat was tough, but the sauce was decent with a subtle hint of pepper. Next time, I might try the hot soba instead. Overall, it was a bit disappointing.

Now is the peak season for harvesting the largest fuki in Japan, which can only be found in the Rawan area of Ashoro. I had only ever eaten boiled Rawan fuki before, but I heard that a soba restaurant in Ashoro is serving Rawan fuki tempura during this season, so I stopped by on my way to Eastern Hokkaido. I was served five tempura pieces of fuki, each about 5cm in diameter. The tempura was freshly fried and piping hot, and biting into it, I could taste the refreshing flavor and slight bitterness of the fuki. The crunchy texture was also enjoyable, and I ended up eating three pieces in a row. Seasonal ingredients are truly delicious. After that, I enjoyed the soba without any condiments. It was delicious handcrafted soba with a rich flavor. The dipping sauce was not too salty and had a nice dashi flavor, which is my favorite type. After finishing the meal, I also had some soba-yu. Thank you for the delicious meal, Ryogoku restaurant.

Lunch in Ashibetsu. I randomly chose a soba noodle restaurant that caught my eye. It seemed like an old-fashioned soba restaurant. I ordered zaru soba for 650 yen (tax included). The clientele seemed to be mostly locals. The menu mainly consisted of set meals like rice bowls, and most customers around me ordered sets as well. The zaru soba took quite a while to arrive. The soba noodles were slightly thicker. They were quite firm and had a strong texture. Eating them cold was a bit tough, as it felt tiring on the throat. I think these soba noodles would be better enjoyed warm. Thank you for the meal.

While driving east on Ashoro Street, I found a diner with a lot of cars parked in the parking lot, so I decided to stop by for lunch. I feel like many restaurants along Route 241 may be closed for the year-end holidays, so I'll have lunch here. It's a very local and popular soba restaurant with a casual atmosphere. I ordered the large portion. The thick soba noodles are very chewy and the large serving size is quite satisfying. The dipping sauce is a bit on the sweet and light side, as this is not a high-end soba restaurant. Just outside the restaurant, there was a sign that read "Turn here for Chiharu's house". Following the sign, I drove to the house of Matsuyama Chiharu. It's rare for a celebrity to open their home to the public, so I couldn't resist taking a picture as a memento. Address: 3-8 Kita 1-jou, Ashoro-cho, Ashoro-gun, Hokkaido.
